Longstreet 23 The Sound Of Money Talking
Bruce Lee looks noticeably thinner from the first Longstreet episode. It is because of the grind of filming The Big Boss in Thailand between the two episodes. He'd film all his episodes and head back to Hong Kong in October 1971 for the premiere of The Big Boss. It proved to be his breakthrough, launching him on his path to superstardom! ❤
не думал, что меня можно было чем-то удивить и здесь Брюс не какой-то герой из комикса, а почти реальный человек. Об этом сериале не знал ничего...Смешно, никогда не говори никогда.
Excellent story. The coming out of darkness can apply to everyone.
I have this series on DVD, I love it. One of the best things about it is the music is done by the great, Oliver Nelson who would go on to do the music for the first three seasons of, The Six Million Dollar Man. If you listen carefully you can hear certain music cues that would show during Six Mills show.
Thanks for Longstreet. Very Rare in these parts. This will Help with my Insomnia. Doing a Four Day Stretch Right Now. Thank You.
Why was Bruce Lee even in this episode - he contributed absolutely nothing to it. And what a daft beggar that Bailey character was - went to all that trouble to get the money, evade the police, devise a bom* - then passes out without taking his medication!!
I think that people were stunned and excited with Lee in the first episode so they decided to bring him back on with no clear idea on how to use him yet. BL appears in other eps after this one and we can hope they did make more and better use of him. This is just a thought I had, no idea if it's what occurred, just feels logical.
I'm watching this for the first time in 2024 and I must say it's very good. Always been a huge James Franciscus fan (a very underestimated actor in my book) and he really gets to shine here. Looking forward to catching up.
Very emotional episode. Well done.
Boy, I've been watching a few episodes and the Character Longstreet is a real narcissist! Nicky gets hit by a car and it's all about Longstreet and his drama....man, what a piss ant.
gerry wilson knew bruce lee did green hornet but not guest sar roles like his
Television was so much more interesting exciting than today. The depth and quality can’t be understated.
I much prefer the recast from the pilot. This Nikki was way sweeter and the new Duke was much more grown.
Dog got injured? And that is why we weren't thrilled to watch the show. I remember "dying animal" rebellion.
Hollywood thought Bruce Lee's place was behind someone else's shadow. They were terribly wrong. He changed everything they knew about Martial arts movies.
I guess that bomb didn't hurt Mike's perfect face
The acting, direction, and production values of this TV show are actually quite good. So it was likely that this series flopped because of viewers who thought that a blind man being an investigator was too implausible.
The bayou looks exactly like a California studio backlot. Too many palm trees. Probably because it is.
That secretary didn’t last beyond this episode
My trip to New Orleans was the most real, even tho it was in the off-season:Not tourist season, but always tourist season… the best, realist, coolest experiences of my life. I LOVE jazz and wish to go back❤
Dang. I wish there had been another season. Not bad
From the episodes I’ve seen this dude is smart but a disaster/murder magnet! Get an armed bodyguard!
Good premise. Insurance investigator is an interesting and high value industry. Not common. Longstreet is a danger magnet, tho. He needs an armed bodyguard who is incognito. Muscle and brains would be an actual high survival rate equation.😊 good bottle episode. Could be an acting class workshop. I thought it was the waitress, because of the debt.
The way people keep dying right in front of him, he should have been traveling with an armed bodyguard!
I remember seeing this episode when I was 11 years old, and being on the edge of my seat when the gators were closing in on Mike and his dog (much to the amusement of my father, who KNEW they couldn't kill off the main character, let alone his DOG!)
The service-man played the original Duke Paige in the "Longstreet" pilot episode; Bradford Dillman, I believe his name was!
I loved this show when I was around 10...never understood why Franciscus did not achieve greater fame in his time. He seemed to be the total package, but being from St. Louis, he probably lacked connections...
i never understood why they took this serries off the air l liked it then i still like it now
This show could come back for sure. Compelling
Bruce Lee is incredible
This Show also should be on DVD.
Mike ordered doughnuts instead beignets in New Orleans?
Good point
Excellent series ! 😊
This series is excellent !
Everyone just drinks during the whole show lol
In the writing, Longstreet seems "too cool" about the death of his wife Ingrid. Normally, even if blinded, it would be more plausible for him to remain in shock and grief over her death more that he was. Otherwise the acting is all very good.
I think given the following episodes shows how much the main character was holding back his grief and anger
Great series, loved Pax❤
why don't Americans use the plain old English word Burgled instead of Burglarised.
Burgled sounds silly even if correct
Brings back all of our childhood Whether you are a boy or whether you are girl you remember James franciscus and Bruce Lee teaming up was explosive on television to all of our minds and all of our lives were affected immensely because we remember Bruce Lee playing Kato in the Green hornet & k a t o this is a masterpiece Touched me very deeply I'm sure many of you also in the word bravo 👏
Key Largo-esque
This is an exceptionally well done episode. It’s really empathetic.
How was he killing it at the shooting range? And, he took every step perfectly without missing beat. Lol. I remember this show when i was a little kid. Good stuff!
At 29:30 there is a few seconds of the soundtrack muted so I can't tell what the woman is saying. I was just watching my DVD copy and noticed this (at 31:06 on the DVD). I hopped on the internet to see if this is mentioned anywhere and hopefully to find what the lost dialog was or at least a reason for the muting. Was it done on the original broadcast or just for the DVD release? Was it just an editing mistake or was it pulled out because of something at the time of broadcast was deemed inappropriate or maybe considered OK when broadcast but censored on the DVD because it's now considered taboo? Anyone read lips? 😏👄 Also there is a rough edit at 21:34 (22:45 on the DVD) where with a pop the sound drops out for several seconds but it's likely just the music for the pre commercial break and beginning of the next scene that is lost. Maybe the producers "went method" for this episode and hired a deaf editor to assemble the show?! 🤷♂😆
Good old Sam Beauregarde
Brilliant!
Lovely memories when I watch as kid when my mum and dad asleep...hmmmm
Thank you Desiree...my husband used to watch this when he was younger with his parents. I was not aware of this program until he mentioned it. Having uploaded these episodes, I am able to go back in time with him. Thanks, again

Brooke Bundy delivers a standout performance. I just viewed this ep. last week on the DVD set -- with the episode's extra three minutes as seen on ABC in 1972 (purchased late 2021). What's distracting for viewers, however, is her much-too 'out-there,' obvious, dark, false eye lashes. Yes! Admittedly they're a standard of the studios' make-up departments' repertoire. Unfortunately, in THIS instance, Bundy's head and portions of face are concealed by the white wrappings covering her burns she suffered in the hospital's fire. We basically see her lips, nose and eyes; that's it. And with the white framing those features, the dark, extended additions to her eye lids really, really stand out. The young actress is leaning dangerously close towards Dorothy Malone's Constance Mackenzie "Peyton Place" territory -- as in OMG ridiculous. Here, sadly, at this extreme length, they're unnecessary. But, please, don't let it distract you from getting into this episode and appreciating Brooke's talents. AND following the mystery 'til the conclusion.
Pay close attention 'cause it's a VERY complex story. I'm glad I watched it twice -- 'to figure it out.' Victor Jory delivers another fine guest shot.
This is by far the most ridiculous episode of the series.
What, specifically, makes it ridiculous for you? Not disputing you, just wondering what you are thinking of.
@@garytiptin6479 Too much nonsense.
