How to Boil Perfect Pasta the Right Way...With Flavor Every Time
Ok, who doesn't love a good taco
I did not see anyone raise their hand, so everyone must love tacos! Thanks for watching and hope all is well with you.
Looks like an amazing vegetable beef soup - minus the peas. I totally agree, you got to have it with some nice cornbread.
I take it you’re not a pea fan? As a young boy, peas was the only vegetable I would eat. Eventually, I tried other vegetables and liked them. lol. The soup did turn out great and had a lot of flavor. Thanks for the nice comment and thanks again for tuning in!
Awesome veg soup. Thanks!
You are welcome. It turned out so well. It’s so full of flavor. Thank you for watching and for the kind comment!
I'd use just tomatoes, and it'll still be good. I'd also leave out the cayenne.
I think I will try just tomatoes next time around. I bet the fresh tomatoes would be great in it. I have to have the cayenne pepper though haha. Thank you again for watching and commenting!
Another great dish - who doesn't love a nice goulash.
I agree. I’m glad this dish came about. It had so much flavor. Originally, I had a breakfast recipe in mind that turned into a second breakfast recipe, but I just could not get it videoed the way I wanted to. So along came this one lol. Thanks again for watching!
This is a form of goulash. You can throw anything you want in.
I figured so. The flavor this has is amazing. I took some into work for a co worker to try and he couldn’t stop taking about it. I have one more serving left for today 😃. Thank you for watching another video!
💖🙏👍🙏💖
Thank you so much and thank you for watching!
no bacon no Elvis
This is not an actual Elvis. This is my version. Bacon is a nice add-on sometimes. Thank you for watching!
I had one for lunch, thanks
I love these sandwiches. Thank you for watching!
Looks great, will try, thanks. Just a quick note, you should never fry honey. You can look into it online, honey is toxic when heated. Better add it after the sandwich is a bit cooled
Thank you for the tip. I have read that before. My thought has always been since the sandwich is more of a warm up, that at the temps the honey gets to should not be anywhere close to toxic. I do appreciate the great advice and your comment. Thank you for watching!
i love green beans! what a warm and filling recipe :) perfect for fall and rainy weather
Green beans are my favorite vegetable, plus I hear they are healthy or something 😂. I had leftovers this evening and I think they have more flavor now than when I made the video. If you do make it, don’t forget the cornbread! Thank you for the awesome comment and for watching another video.
I'm not familiar with this recipe but it looks interesting. I may have to try that someday, but just on a slightly smaller scale. I would like to mention that I have spent more than my share of snaping off ends of green beans in the past - lol.
It’s a Southern recipe from what I can tell. There are more involved recipes for this combo of food, but I tried to keep it quick and simple. I almost did it on the stove with a couple of ham hawks, but I didn’t have the time to do all that. So that told me the crockpot recipe was the right choice for the channel. Snapping green beans has always been fun to me. Mainly because it brings up some great memories. I was excited when my daughter and me snapped beans together for the first time. She got to hear me remanence about me doing as a kid lol. Thank you for watching and thank you for the great comment.
How nice looks so delicious, thank you for sharing ,32 like from me ❤👍, new friend here, i have a cooking channel too, i've subscribed to your channel 💕🤗🌷
Welcome to the channel! I always enjoy making new friends. What is your channel? I will check it out. I hope you try this recipe and love it. You can switch it up to likings. Thank you for the awesome comment and for watching!
@@CookitSimplewithEric thank you for the kind words, i definitely can't wait to try this chocolate cheesecake, my channel is Aglio&Pomodoro 💖
@@AglioePomodoro i have subscribed and will follow. Good luck on your channel!
@@CookitSimplewithEric thank you so much my dear friend 💖, good luck to you too ❤️💙🧡🤗
Mmmmm ... thanks .... soooo good, too.
Thank you for watching and for the fun comment! This is one of my all time favorite recipes.
I think it's too much broth, but it sounds really good.
You would think it is, but after 4 hours in the crockpot it dilutes down and isn’t over powering. There are fancier ways to make this recipe, but for the simplicity of it, it is really good and flavorful.
Agree you save a lot of time by starting the crockpot heating up before filling it. These fresh ingredients make it better than any takeout
The fresh ingredients are the way to go. I also like making this because I get great leftovers. Plus the extra ham and potatoes I didn’t use becomes ham and cheese omelets and fried potatoes for this Saturday’s breakfast! Thank you for your great comment and for watching another video!
I have never seen this recipe before but it caught my eye. Then you added a side of cornbread. Oh man, that is pure comfort. Great stories too, thank you Eric
This recipe wouldn’t be complete without the cornbread lol. This is an old recipe I learned from my southern family members. I just simplified it by using the crockpot. It’s always great to hear from you. Thank you for watching!
This looks so good I can’t wait to make it
You are in for a great treat. If you want it a little thinner, make sure you use a 9x9 or an 11x7 dish. This is a very rich and smooth dessert. Enjoy and thank you for watching and commenting!
@@CookitSimplewithEricHello thanks for the recommendation I think I will keep it thick🤭🤭🤭
Yum.
Thanks buddy!
That look delicious Eric! I think that would be perfect for the upcoming holidays. One thing I might want to try is putting it in a large muffin tin mold, but my concern is the unmolding part. Oh, and I licked beaters as a kid.
Licking the beaters was such a treat as a kid. That is also a cool idea about putting them in a muffin tin. They would be individual treats then. This is a very rich dessert and it was thick in the 8x8 that I used. Some may want to put it in a 9x9 or 11x7 to make it thinner. I am a huge chocolate lover, so the thicker pieces is what I like.. Thank you for watching the video and it’s always great to hear from you.
If you wanted to do a quad, add some white chocolate to the recipe. It'll be to die for.
I like your way of thinking. That would be great tasting. You need to have your own cooking show, you could call it “Marilyn’s Kitchen” or “Marilyn in the Kitchen”. You have some great ideas for making recipes your own. Thank you again for watching and for the great comment!
U knocked that outta the park!!😍🤤👏
Looks good.. When I don't make Stroganoff with steak I do almost the same thing, but... needs red wine.
Huh, that’s a great idea. I use red wine in a couple of sauces I make. I will have to try that next time. Maybe the red wine instead of Worcestershire sauce. Thank you for the great comment and for watching!
Salt makes it have more water
Thank you for watching. You are correct. Initially the salt draws the water out of the mushrooms creating more water. By drawing the water out quicker, then you can reduce the liquids quicker and speed up the cooking time. In my mind this makes since anyways lol.
That looks really good Eric - looks perfect for a cool day!
Thank you James. This is one of my favorites. It warms up nicely in the microwave, so I take the leftovers to work for a couple of days. Thank you for the positive comment and for watching. Your suggestion is coming up in a few more episodes.
Stuart!! The best is when he gets his cheese or little taste. Maybe it could be Cook it Simple with Eric & Stuart 😊
He is a great pup dog. I need to figure out how to get him in the videos more. I am trying out using a second camera, so maybe some more of Stewart can be done with that. I’m a one man show and the recipes are so quick and simple, it’s tough to do any extra shots lol. Thank you for the awesome comment and for watching!
Definitely trying this one tonight to use a pound of ground beef. I love that the onions, mushrooms and ground beef are cooked together - liquid makes the beef tender like a stroganoff should be. The heavy cream! Divine idea for cream instead of Midwest standard, cream of mushroom soup.
I hope you love it! There is something about heavy cream and flour that make dishes like this stand out in taste and consistency. Plus cooking the onions and mushrooms with the hamburger really helps them absorb all that extra flavor. That’s why I avoid draining when possible. Good luck and enjoy! Thank you again for watching and for the great comment.
I make a killer stroganoff, but I'm dying to try yours. Thanks for the recipe.
Your welcome! I hope it turns out well for you. I have a feeling your stroganoff would be amazing. Thank you for watching and enjoy your day!!
This was delicious and so easy. Great comfort food.
I am so happy to hear that! I like to make it because it is delicious and easy and it heats up well and the microwave. Thank you for the great comment and for watching the video.
lots of cheese also makes me feel better about life! 😂
Let me loose in a cheese shop and I’m a happy man. I spend way too much though lol. Thank you for watching and for the fun comment!
For pro, Seahawks. College, has to be the Huskies. I am from Seattle.
You’re in a beautiful state. I am an Ohio guy, but like the state above me for College and the state to the East of me for Pro. Thank you for watching another video and for the cool comment!
Thanks Eric. I can DO that!
Heck yes you can! It’s simple and so delicious. I hope you have fun making it and enjoy it. Thank you for watching and for the comment!
Love the oven mitt too!
Thank you, when I opened it, it made me smile. I knew had I had to use it in my show. 😃
You make it look so easy and tasty. Rice is not my friend but I love it and going to try your method. Thanks Eric
Hello! Rice has never been my friend either. I usually have someone else make it lol. I hope it turns out tasty when you make it. You can make this dish many different ways. Have fun with it. Thank you for watching!
Nice work Eric, I appreciate you not following a recipe exactly, I do the same thing.
Thank you, I like to see what I can make with what I have sometimes. It keeps cooking fun lol. Sometimes I do well and sometime I know what now to do next time 😂. Thank you for watching and for the fun comment.
Your recipes remind me of the types of things my mom would make growing up in the 80's and 90's. Good stuff!
Thank you for watching and for the compliment. A lot of these my mom made me in the 70s and 80s as I was growing up lol. I love to do gourmet cooking, but simple cooking is more practical in the real working world. I’m happy you enjoyed the videos and the recipes 😁
That looks really good! Going to have to give this a try - was thinking maybe adding some Cream of Chicken Soup with Herbs to boost the chicken flavor
Hi James. Adding some cream of chicken soup with herb was my initial thought. I actually bought a can at the store for it, but at the last minute decided to try it without it. Great minds think alike. Thank you for watching!
This looks great, Eric! Although I’ll admit as a New Yorker your pronunciation of Italian does make me wince each time I hear it LOL! I bet this would be great with a little diced fresh mozzarella, pepperoni and salami added!
Your additions would be great! I have southern roots, so my pronunciation of words can be all over the place. I try to catch myself with certain words, but not all the time lol. Thank you for watching!
Can't go wrong with a classic. That's a summer must for me. Great for BBQs as you said. I always make mine with the tri-color Rotini for extra color.
Hello again! I have never used the tri color pasta, no reason why I don’t lol. Next time I will try that and see if anyone notices. Family and friends can usually tell what dish I make and bring. Thank you again for watching and for the great comment.
I think I was born an Italian, in another life. I love pasta.
Same here, I could eat it almost everyday. I love a tasty spaghetti. Thank you for watching again and for the fun comment.
Can't go wrong with homemade pancakes from scratch and those looked yummy. I totally agree that a thicker batter is better than a thin/running one. I generally prefer adding the fruit to the top of the pancakes instead of mixing them in.
These pancakes had such a great flavor. My daughter happened to stop over and she ate a stack of them and couldn’t get enough. I do strawberry’s and whipped cream on them sometimes. Depends on my mood lol. Thank you again for the great comment and for watching!
Looks like you need a new toaster. Love your channel.
So true. I’m still using it and it can be a bit finicky lol. I will use it until it completely stops working. Thank you for the wonderful compliment and thank you for all your great comments on the other videos.
Wow. A masterpiece
Awe, thank you! It tastes great too lol. Thank you for the awesome comment and for watching the video.
I like sweet paprika but also see you went with the smoked. Trader Joe’s has a great one $3 that I have to use up other than rib rub. This should be so good.
I have never been to a Trader Joe’s. I think the closest one to me is about 2 1/2 hours down by Cincinnati Ohio. I have found I use smoked paprika on quite a bit of things now. It goes great with sloppy eggs. Thank you for the great tip and for watching the video.
I’m going to try this for sure! I like that idea of refrigerating the onion and going to give it a shot. If the onions have a strong bite - like white onions - I rinse them under water. Love two cheeses
I will definitely try rinsing them under water next time. I always enjoy trying new things. And by the way, you can’t have a good hamburger helper without at least two cheeses lol. I hope it turns out great for you. Thank you for watching.
What time is dinner it looks good?😂😂😂😂 I always like a man to cook they are the best cooks ever. You always see men chefs ?
That is funny! All the women I know usually cook as little as possible and the men do the cooking. I enjoy cooking and feeding friends and family. I usually cook some pretty time consuming recipes, but for the videos I keep it simple. Thank you for watching!
fun video man keep it up!
Thank you for watching. I try to have a little fun when making them. Lol
Can't wait to try this soon
Just take your time and let the liquid reduce before adding the cheese. Thank you for watching!
Picked up all the ingredients, and I'm going to make this tonight! Looks fantastic!
I am excited for you to try this! I hope it turns out well for you. Thank you for watching!
let's go ahead and post a comment.... stuart needs more air time great recipe by the way
I need to start showing him more since you can see and hear him in every video. I’m glad you like the recipe. Thank you for the fun comment and thank you for watching.
