Idle Spiral from 7,500ft - Uneven Fuel Burn - Playing it safe
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.7 лет назад
So as we flew towards Florida we noticed all the fuel was burning something like 85% out of the left tank. So we didn't know why. 99.9% of the time it's the fuel caps line up with the relative wind. But we didn't know and we didn't have anything in front of us for 60 miles. So with light fading we went into Greenwood Mississippi for the night!
A New Day - Off RVS for Venice Beach

After Rusty and I had the oil line replaced and the carbs pulled apart and cleaned then resealed the airplane was running great. We had put a few hour on the plane in Tulsa and felt very good about the engine. This would become one of the best running rotax engines I've flown.
Third Try Isn't the Charm
Просмотров 1 тыс.7 лет назад
On the 3d try to depart KRVS we had a power surge apx 27 min in after takeoff ranging 100-200 RPM. We returned back to the field and had the Carbs ripped off and re-sealed which made them run perfectly! Nothing was wrong prior with the carbs.
Losing Oil Pressure in Flight Again!
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.7 лет назад
Watch as Rusty and I try the airplane out after a part swap thinking initially it was fixed until.. We did however find the problem. The oil line going into the pump was when the oil and engine was at it's hottest "the climb"was slightly collapsing on itself. Closing the amount of flow into the pump - lowering the pressure. After a new oil line was installed the pressure was 70 on a mild start ...

What type of twin was this in video, baron or cessna 310 or another
This CT suffered a very bad landing on 9-2-2017. See NTSB report on N547CT.
Well shit
Instructor is a jerk, over instructing!!! Never trim into a flare!!! If you have to Go Around you’re fighting the trim
So when the oil pressure is low and the temperature is high you have to stop the engine and carry out a forced landing or just simply look for the nearest airport?
Was this Winona Mn?
What ocean could you see?
RIP this channel

Good job.
Congrats on the sponsorship!! And I totally understand about the IFR and not being able to continue to film videos, because by the time you’re even started filming a lesson your 3 lessons ahead!
I really enjoyed it and am about to go try it myself. What's the best alternate? There looks to be a good option to the east and one to the west?
That is a private runway.
cant see the adf needle-whats the point
Why scud run if youre just going for lunch? Especially with your family
I realize this was 4 years ago but im gunna go out on a limb and say you took off from riverside airport and went west over lake keystone??
I know this guy! Nice video man, good edit!
I still get a weird feeling when I hear "7637V." I have so many hours in that airplane and lots of serious IFR flying in IMC.
So you found the source of the heath? tell us the end of the story :) Good job anyway! Congrats.
Hurrah for Pogue. Nice video mate.
The reason I love the RG is because I flew that very airplane so many hours!
Wow! N7637V! I did all my commercial pilot certificate training in that bird and flew it all over California an Nevada back in the '70s!
That music is annoying.
What did you mean by looking at ADM?
Great video. Love the multiple camera angles. RUclips needs more of this kind of content.
Way too fast on final, and touching down nose wheel first is a major no no.

looks like your not passing that medical next time
I just signed up to take my instrument checkride! Thanks for sharing your experience
Have enjoyed your videos but noticed no new posts for over a year. Do you have another channel now?
youtube.com/@letumpeek is other channel yeah sorry no one replied for 4 years if you still on this account
And Gaston’s isn’t ‘one way in, one way out’. Plenty of people depart the other way.

@@RichWellner not when the wind is 20 out of the wrong direction.
Really? Are you this dramatic about everything? Canyon? Instrument approaches in the mountains? Not even close. Landing at Gastons in the daytime is about as exciting as making toast. "OMG the heating elements on the toaster have the power of 1000 suns! And there's crumbs! Crumbs are in the bottom of the toaster!" Video work is good but the commentary is lame.
Are you kidding me? What a drama queen. Gaston's isn't that difficult.
This is hilarious.
Is it me or are the screens going crazy at the start of the video?
Very nice video
I had smoke in the cockpit of a C172 caused by FOD blocking the radio cooling fan. Initial indication of the overheat was the G430 resetting every few mins. Then transponder became intermittent, then radio static and finally visible smoke. Definitely disconcerting in any aircraft, large or small.
KSGF is actually where I received my Private Pilots Certificate. Awesome Approach.
remenber sir buffa discoverd the wind i remenber back in 68 dc3 rrrruuuuuuummmmm made so much noise they would get the cows out of the grass for the plane to take off
good all is ok
What a nice Cardinal! Great video.
Sounds like you didn't check NOTAMs otherwise you would have known your destination airport was closed to fixed wing aircraft. Judging from the remark your instructor made, he also missed the NOTAM. I trust that was a valuable lesson learned. Good job on the reroute.
Honestly speaking when you fly to the same place weekly for a couple years you get complacent in simple task that seem routine day to day. This was a lesson I learned and I hope others do as well. I did read the Notams off ForeFlight but I didn't call the WX briefer. This was the last time I used Foreflights NOTAM list. Lol lesson learned.
I liked that. What are you up to now?
I love the ghost cat reaction to his joke.
How were you able to log the jet time without a type rating? Do you not have to be qualified to fly the plane to log time in it?
Trent Matthes CFII and MEI ratings held by the PIC so it's signed off as training.
Ohhh right I forgot about that, thanks
Impressive story. Well edited and punctuated for emphasis and clarity!
that carbon fiber looks good. 👍
Wonder what the flaps are for?:-)
The sound keeps cutting out 😒
that 2 minute intro tho
Yee Haw I know it hahaha early editing days.
What do you mean by situational awareness? Please explain.
bad instructor
If you like this persons way of being an instructor, you're a bad instructor aswell. Very few people needs this "serious and assertive" way of talking to them. That's the way you treat 14 year olds not interested in the subject whatsoever. When you have adults, focusing and wanting to learn, and listening to you - you don't need to bark at them or have a bad attitude. Did they teach you nothing in CRM? If you're calm and confident, that rubs off. If you're on edge and barking, that only makes it worse.
