this might be the worst song that i have ever heard
oh man playing the last movement at my string camp last year was actually really fun
played boisterous bouree, playful pizzicato and sentimental saraband (i was violin 2) for nyssma majors this past year, and we got gold!!! (granted, we did a split-level 5 and 6 program but still, it was the most fun ive had in a long time and i personally think we sounded great. mostly positive comments from the adjudicators as well!!!) god, the animato in boisterous bouree was such a pain in the butt 😭
wait im so confused isnt a half rest one beat and whole rest 2 beats? why do i end up playing later 😭😭

God loves you
I'm going to play the Simple Symphony and St. Paul's Suite at a club next time, and when I look at the comments, it's interesting to see so many of the same people. I need to do something to prevent the accelerating speed when playing the second movement...
Save me from this madness😭 a bunch of 7-10 graders are playing this
Soy segundo violín. Tengo que llevarla bien mañana. Me duele la mano.
Last movement very operatic, these opera composers can't help their operatic skills going into their instrumental works.
Not so simple to play as the title suggests, maybe it is easy listening as Benjamin Britten features on radio 2.
Замечательно!!!
Someone should have talked Britten out of the alliterative movement titles. Just nix the adjectives.
I am in 5th garde and i have to play this for a ocestra
Composed for those between ages 9-12 lmao. Ain't nothin' simple about this work.

Playing this along with st. Paul's suite and I fear the inability of our second violins and lack of violas 😥
Nice video!

Присоюдиняюсь! Толъко с выражениями моего папы с Балтики матроса. Прикиньте
Сука бездарная эта пахмутова!
We can all agree that the 4th movement is the best, period.
Well I always preferred the second movement, it feels much more like typical Britten writing, infused with Scottish vibes and intelligent development.

Playing this in my junior year of high school was a gift! Now, as a senior, we are playing the St. Paul’s Suite!
Lol, I played at Paul’s suite as a junior and I’m playing simple symphony rn.
omg for me it was freshman st. paul suite now we’re playing this as a sophomore!!!
For me it was sophomore st pauls and simple symphony senior year
Ending gives me chills ;)
Just for me 11:02 16:28
Can I just say... as a violinist who has played this twice the second movement is WAY harder than it sounds. I was first chair and I struggled to keep the pizz up to tempo. RIP the rest of my section XD
It's much easier to play with the thumb, holding the violin in your lap like a mandolinist, rather than with the forefinger. It's supposed to be a Simple Piece, and I believe violin was actually taught this way in the past: Learning to pluck the tune, In Tune, so you can see the actual distance between the notes and where your fingers need to be, learning the bow movements on Open strings, then combining the two.
i feel u 😭 i plucked with 2 fingers which helped a little but the room my ensemble performed it in was super cold.. i remember one time during rehearsal our conductor made us sing the piece. had a blast doing that.

Пахмутова таки сперла эту мелодию у Бенжамена!!!!
Ну надо же! А в сэрэсерэ сентиментальную сарабанду считали песней Пахмутовой НЕЖНОСТЬ!!!! Любители СССР, как вам?
can you write in english please ?
