You chose such a deluxe set of items! All of the best and richest colors. Do you like the distress crayons or the neocolor 11 more? And those inks you used at the end are glorious! I looked at the Royal Talens website and the Ecoline Earth set does appear to be missing a color, 259 Sand Yellow. Happy birthday - this looks like a fun haul. Don't be intimidated by the gel plate - there are tons of possibilities with it!

The pith sketchbooks are not made out of cotton, just acid-free. Only the thread and label is made out of cotton according to their website.

I just bought some soft pastels & didn't realize they are water soluble. Now I'm even more excited to use them! Excited to see what you create with the new goodies 😀

I like how all of these are granulating. The best for last! Buff titanium is my most used color and because it's one of those mixing colors that's saved me lots of money because I can mix any light hues like Naples yellow light, lavender, etc as well as make anything neutral/natural for landscapes.

Except for the Pyrrol Scarlet, I love all the colors you chose! They're all so pretty.

I use blending medium when keeping gouache in a stay wet palette it helps them not dry out. For drying them use vegetable glycerin instead this will stop them from crumbling

i did this with windsor and newton and added a small drop of real honey to it and they are still good. they “dried” but are easy to rewet and dont crack

The only brand that I’ve ever put in a pallet was M Graham… Because it’s so moist and I think it’s because it has honey in it, it goes in the pallet really well :-)

I love the granulating colors from Schmincke,I own 4 of these little sets and you have to try them with rough watercolor paper. My favorites are the blues and greens(shire set,forest set,glacier set)

Some people use gouache in the Royal Talens but I don’t like any water in it at all unless it’s a marker. Also you have a cat hair on your sketchbook that’s covered by a cat hair on my iPad 😅

I'm so in love with DS watercolor paint. I bought the sample dot sheets and they're fantastic. I'm collecting my favorites based on what I discover from the sheets. Undersea Green and Green Apatite Genuine are my favorite greens, but after this fabulous video, Cascade Green is next on the list. Perfect for my Evergreen Christmas paintings. I do not think I have met a Daniel Smith color I didn't really like! To this list, I would add Indian yellow. I have been using it in some florals and find it blends well. I do not have Lavender, but am planning on getting that one soon, and learning the possibilities with it. Very nice video.

This was very helpful thank you. I recently purchased Kyanite Genuine and Wow! It's similar to your swatch of Sodalite Genuine, however it contains a gorgeous natural sparkle that gives a outer space painting a wow factor! It's my new favorite!

Will you get as far west as Port Townsend? (2 hour drive from Seattle) That’s where the art toolkit shop is and it’s my favorite tiny watercolor pallet. I’m east of Seattle but next time I get over to Port Townsend…I want to visit that shop. Love the Butchart gardens…if you like tea, it’s lovely to reserve an afternoon tea there as well! Yes I love ❤️ Daniel Smith and I try to get every color they have. 😂. They are so beautiful and one color can be used for so many different ideas on landscapes to beach ⛱️ scenes. I think they are the best. Never any cracking like you get with Winsor and Newton paints. Like van dyc brown. JK FLORIDA USA 🇺🇸.

Gosh I have every single one of these except for the pyrule Scarlet lol. Check out some of! Roman Szmal Aquarius granulating colors like Aquarius green, Shadow Violet, Shadow Gray, and Misty morning. Check out some RUclips videos that show these guys! Also the rest of Daniel Smith 's. Granulating colors are pretty fabulous. Bloodstone, Blue appetite, Hematite and hematite violet to name a few. Oh and lunar Red Rock. Happy painting!❤

Another purple from DS that I really like is carbazole violet. It gets super dark but waters down to gorgeous shades of purple.

I have 3 of your favourites but unlike you, I have no greens at all in my palette because I prefer to mix them. However, your review is really tempting me to buy a couple - especially Perylene Green which looks gorgeous!
