This customer was stranded when their classic Corvette lost all pedal pressure. Luckily they were in close proximity to Dad's shop and he stowed it until I could make some repairs. This 1979 Corvette is in really good shape for its age. Almost too nice for me to work on....In this video we explore the internals of a stainless steel lined caliper and rebuild them with new seals. Now the customer...

Did you happen to record the engine removal process. I have a fire damage 843 I want to restore. And need to know how bout starting the process.
Unfortunately I did not start the YT channel until after the engine was removed. If you skim thru the playlist on the re-assembly you should get the gist of all that is entailed, just in reverse order. Thanks for watching and good luck on the repair! 👍😁 Playlist: BOBCAT 843; REPAIR SERIES: ruclips.net/p/PLXhqnH7y_t8T-o7nL8nNJgMWR_gRcsnhm
That's a fine forklift good man -stephen
She's still lifting all my stuff even after overloading it with the crane pick! Thanks for watching! 👍😁
just randomly found you love from india
Thanks for checking out the channel! I have quite a few videos on various different projects. Cheers 👍😁
One good step forward Andy! 😁👍 Check out my buddy J.C Smith, he has quite a few videos on moving an axle forward 🔧
Thanks Zane! I think I caught one of his videos working on a gage cluster. I will have to check out some more of his videos. Thanks for watching and Happy Thanksgiving 🦃!
That was a lot of elbow grease getting those off. One step closer to having a new (repurposed) piece of equipment. 🎉
It would have been handy if those larger bolts would have unscrewed, but the Metabo doesn't mind! Thanks for watching! 👍😁
I've got two of these, the originals, in my 1981, 36 ft Tri-cabin Trojan yacht. These things purr like kittens and I have used them to take my boat from MDR to Catalina Island eight times in the last 4 years. I maintain them and they run and start like they're brand new. Great motors. Thanks for the great and informative video!
That's pretty awesome! Most might find it hard to believe, but I have been to Catalina Island! 2016 vintage. Thanks for watching and keep on boating! 👍😁
Could a malfunctioning belt tensioner cause the check engine light to go on? I'm having a very similar sounding issue to yours, but it only happens in below freezing temperatures and the check engine light went on!
I would think it is unlikely, unless the belt is slipping enough to under drive the accessories. In particular the alternator could cause a low charge if it is slipping badly. That would be a much more evident squeal though. I recommend checking the codes and replacing the belt to avoid a potential breakdown. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Vevor is still selling this model for $227, free shipping. I've considered buying one to replace my plain lever Jet ( made in Japan) 3 ton Arbor press. I have a large ratcheting Famco that I mostly use for broaching. I'd be interested in knowing how well this one has held up
So far it has done everything I have asked of it, but it isn't an everyday use item for me...... In comparison to an old school American made unit it's junk, but it is functional. I noticed the ram doesn't fit well in the head (it's a little sloppy) and the tool plate is soft. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
How much time did it take you to complete this build?
It took me two 12-14 hour days to complete the build. Add in a couple extra hours on top for rubber mulch and anchor installation. Organization is key, lay out all the pieces in order for a more efficient build. I didn't do this until day 2. Thanks for watching 👍😁
A few setbacks here or there with the strut breaking and the clamp falling off, BUT you done a great job Andy! 😎👍 Clean install my friend. 🔧
Thanks Zane! I was hoping to find a bolt on solution that was a direct fit, but couldn't find one that opened. It turned out better than expected! Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
Where did you get the cylinder rebuild kits? I have a CL340 and both the tilt and lift cylinders are leaking.
I took a gamble and bought a kit off old 'Flea-Bay' if you know what I mean. It's a major online auction site, but some implications exist for using their real name. I think they are still available, try searching 'Ford CL40 CL340 skidsteer Lift or tilt cylinder seal packing kit'. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
Choke was half on and that's why surging
I used it last year for a Christmas parade, it worked well but it doesn't respond to load changes well.....I think the old carb is gummed up. Thanks for watching 👍😁
2500 lbs
That was close to my first guess too.... She's quite a bit heavier! Thanks for watching.👍😁
My 843 just started leaking oil from the dip stick hole. It starts and runs good but when temp gets up oil begins spewing. Thanks for any suggestions
If the engine isn't overfull, I am guessing the engine has blowby that is pressurizing the crankcase. Check the oil fill level, check for a plugged crank case breather, check for excessive blow bye, check for a blown head gasket. Thanks for watching! 👍😁

Don't sneeze while you're under there, you might get a face full of rust lol. Thanks for the helpful video I'm about to install a pair of these.
Thank you 'Rust Belt'...... Check out the cab replacement video to see just how rusty it was. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Hi Andy! I'm considering doing this for a similar situation, but to force the furnace the blow warm air from our wood stove. What would happen if you turned the heat on when the furnace fan is turned off via the switch? Should still work, right?
You should be able to use the furnace blower to circulate air throughout your house without any issues. Make sure your furnace blower motor is the correct voltage before trying to manually energize it. In a later video I install central AC on this same furnace. I installed a relay to trigger the AC and the blower at the same time via the thermostat. This is the more sophisticated approach. Thanks for watching and stay safe! 👍😁
Great video. You made it look relatively easy. Question. What did you do about sealing the structure? Thanks.
Thanks! Thompson's Clear Sealer rolled or sprayed on. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Hey buddy great video!! I have a question for you I have a 2012 Kawasaki bayou 220 and I need to buy a new ignition switch but I notes there are 2different switches one have two wire and the other have multiple wires I’m trying to order the switch and have it here before I take the old one out. Do you know which is the correct one for my year? Tnx
Thanks, I would think all ignition 'key' switches require multiple wire connections. Maybe the two wire switch is the manual off ignition toggle? This one used 4 wires I believe. Thanks for watching 👍😁
I ditched the silicone they provided and used black rtv gasket maker when I assemble mine because I heard similar reviews about the water pan leaking. Mine has been together for almost 2 years with zero leaks so far. Cool video.
Thanks! I was worried about leaks, so I made sure to spend extra time cleaning the surfaces. I think some of the issues people were experiencing were from over tightening the bolts. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
I have a MF50e. Aster I turn it on and drive it and it gets to temperature it stops moving. Suggestions potential problem. Thank you
No expert, but first I would check the level and condition of the transmission oil. If it is a shuttle shift I would then inspect the shuttle solenoid valve; make sure it's shifting, damaged internals, plugged with goo and or damaged wires and or faulty limit switches on the directional control. Best of luck, thanks for watching! 👍😁
where is the vent line for toilet?
The Y directly behind the toilet goes to the sink / it has a vertical vent behind it. The main stack also has vent straight out the top before it exits. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Dude, dump those leaky, old-style calipers and upgrade to the Wilwoods. Not only is the braking performance significantly better, but they also take about 35 lbs off the car. I have the 6-piston fronts and 4-piston rears on my '81 and '82 CE, they were a great investment. Also, they use the standard vette pads, come with new stainless hoses and hardware.
Sounds like a nice performance upgrade! I think the customer wants to keep this looking original, but I'll mention it to them the next time we chat. I think the brake hoses might be suspect. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
Thanks for the video! About to change my 2015 battery now here in 2024. Do you have to do any software reset?
I did not perform a reset on this Fusion. It didn't have a phone connected to the Sync and I'm unsure if disconnecting the battery requires a reconnect? Thanks for watching 👍😁
Glad you had help from the *Master Apprentice* 😎👍 Nice job Andy 🔧
Best helper / student! I hope he doesn't get spoiled since his first brake tutorial was on Dad's fancy lift! Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
You did a good job on the brakes something I used to hate doing. well they were drum brakes when I worked on the brake system, there were disk brakes but I seem to get all the drum brakes to do
Thanks! I now have all the specialty tools for drum brakes, yet still manage to pinch out cut myself while working on them, pretty much every time 🙄. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
The mortar It will not stick , all tar should come off first,,,amatuer at best,cheers...i do thus for a living ,38 years , . Also ? Use better rubberized dampproffing,2" rigid insulation prior to backfilling , tar goes rigid after it cures,is no good,. Its 2024 use better materials,...yoyo...
Is a Lincoln better than a Ford? It was a rubberized 'tar' based coating and of course 2" foam board is better. It's also quite a bit more expensive......1000% amateur with no desire to be a professional foundation repairman. Just a guy with some tools. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
That thumb went to war for our freedoms.
Hard to believe it's been over 3 years since I smashed it.... It's almost back to normal, but not quite. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
Looks like he might have accidentally filled it up with diesel.
I would have been able to smell the diesel.... Some premixed 2 stoke fuels are dyed red
How much did you pay for the generator?
~$600 with the light, thanks for watching 👍😁
He couldn't pull that string hard enough.
He pulled himself right into a battery powered unit.....Works for me, I looking into one until this showed up 👍😁
The upper fender mount/firewall was cracked on my F350. I think it was from the previous owners lifting the cab at that point. I ended up having to cut a whole section out of a donor truck and then rebuild the area. Nice and solid now.
I never thought of them lifting on these fender brackets and causing firewall damage. I bet it's a good possibility for this replacement cab though I originally thought it was from an accident. It sat inside a garage for over 20 years as a loose donor cab before I bought it. I fixed mine in a 'short' video. It wasn't too difficult, but it slowed me down at the time. Thanks for watching! Keep those old Fords alive! 👍😁
you have help me solve the problem
Awesome! Thanks for watching! 👍😁
Haven't watched the whole video yet, but I hope you fix those rotten studs.😮 8:28
No this project did not have any damage passed the rim joist and sill face. The studs were never exposed, maybe you are looking at the sheeting / loose tar paper on the wall. Thanks for watching and sharing! 👍😁
Where did you get parts I cannot find them anywhere
Which parts?
That's gunna come in handy! 😎👍
I hope so, I bought it quite a while ago with the plans to help with all of my projects. It's finally fine to start burning some metal. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
Probably one of the best Wheel Horse videos I have come across! Having WH tractors since 1984 they aren’t too complicated until you get to the 520H wiring. Restored a 520H earlier this year and wiring was mostly intact. Sold to new owner who was going to use it for Shows. Last week bought a ‘96 520H and the wiring harness is there but safety switches have been bypassed and additional wires added with some just twisted together. Owner could not get it running so bought it for $150 with 60” deck. Have color coded wiring diagram but could quite figure how to get to relays without pulling engine. Your video was a tremendous help. Great job with taking the time to explain everything in detail. Kudos to you! Thanks….😊
Thanks! I am glad my video was helpful. Sometimes I get a little too detailed on my explanations, but it looks like this one was helpful! I still use the same 520 to mow and snow plow. Great deal on the one you found..... Thanks for watching and sharing! 👍😁
Unless ur going to keep doing that u may want to check defrost
This refrigerator was super sensitive to high humidity and didn't like high heat loads or too frequent door openings 🙄.....I fixed it; ie bought an LG on discount. The old one is at a single friend's house and it has been working well; No changes or repairs 1-1.5 years ago
Some jobs can be rough, glad you still got it fixed Andy 😎👍
Thanks Zane! I was seriously debating on leaving the old belt for a minute.... Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
I LOVE THESE THINGS TO DEATH ALL THESE TRUCKS ARE JUST AWESOME AND ALSO EASY TO FIX WOOO YOU FORD IDS OR GET FOR SCAN BUT SO COOL TO FIX THEM
I do too! I've owned this one for almost 20 years now. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Great Video
Thanks! 👍😁
Another good job Andy
Thanks! The amount of space for the belt swap challenged my sanity for a minute. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
Hey do you still have the Manuel for the hyster 30?
Yes, I have a couple though I'm not sure if they were very helpful in my work on Johnny #5. Send me a direct message on FB, Instagram or Gmail and I can try to file share them with your email address..... They are too big to email directly. Thanks for watching 👍😁
Hi ANDY, I would like to see the unedited version of this video, with sound. LOL ‼️
@@rammanjr88 I used some pretty interesting commentary, may have threw a wrench or two, and muttered some new combined versions of the classic F-bomb . In particular it became an adjective, noun and verb all on its own. Thanks for watching my Friend! 👍😁
Is this a Marine Unit? I was under the impression these needed to be marine specific
No this is the automotive version, I believe Fitech sells one, or a different manufacturer, but the only difference I could tell from the specifications was a more waterproof ECM. It was double the price with a blue ECM. Thanks for watching. 👍😁
how long it took you i’m start this week
It took me two 12-14 hour days to complete the build. Add in a couple extra hours on top for rubber mulch and anchor installation. Organization is key, lay out all the pieces in order for a more efficient build. I didn't do this until day 2. Thanks for watching 👍😁
I was looking into getting one of these and getting a gauge for what to expect. I commend your patience because I can imagine how frustrating it would be to install a support post just to find out halfway through there are 1 inch off center bolt holes. At that point it starts looking like firewood. You made this project seem managable so as long as I stay organized I think I can get it done in a few days, thank you!
Yes, organization is key in this project. I laid out all the components in order on day 2 and it was a huge time saver. To finish the area I installed rubber mulch around the playset. It looks nice and helps cushion falls. Thanks for watching. You'll become your kids hero 👍😁
Maybe some of the best plain spoken, sensible translation of technical knowledge to user application I think I've ever heard also I think I would have pressure washed and degreased the deck before installing the new belt and doin' the Lock'nLube! Maybe enlighten me as to why you chose to install the belt first and then degrease, power wash? Yeah! Once she heats up that grease will start to flow into all the right spots. Can't get over how heavy duty the snow blade arm set up is. I'm definitely interested in a set up like that but not sure I'll find that exact set u under a toadstool any time soon but at least I'll know what to look for and that's half the battle. Mule drive and PTO is well explained and good video with some not too weird music. There is some weird music and a lot of videos. That 520 is a tank! It looks like you're going into shock & awe mode with them dandelions not standing a chance against that well serviced machine. Thanks for the great video enjoyed it much!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It's difficult to find the right balance to please the masses. Some enjoy the extended explanations and others complain I talk too much 🙄. Pressure washing before the new belt would be ideal....I think my pressure washer needed serviced when this video was taken. Thanks for watching and sharing! 👍😁
Technically speaking it is variable speed 0-850. Turn it on, it goes 850 rpm. Turn it off, it goes zero rpm.
I think that is what they were trying to say, but it isn't correctly identified to me. 🙄 If you buy an electric motor it doesn't say 0-1125 rpm. It just says 1125 rpm. Thanks for watching and sharing 👍😁
I know. I’m with you. It was all sarcasm
You just broke the cap seal because that oil tank is a repurposed bottle designed to be sold filled and sealed, but that's fine, a custom made oil tank would have been more expensive.
Makes sense! Thanks for watching and sharing 👍😁
on anything less than .250 in I always clamp a bit of .500 to the job and put the mag base on that. magnets require mass otherwise you run the risk of lift off
Good idea! I was worried about its clamping power on the sideways test. Thanks for watching! 👍😁
