There may be some technical issues but I liked that the film did not try to trick you into guessing that ending. Overall what I thought was a movie about "another good teenager pressured into making bad decisions" actually turned out to speak to generational mental health issues and acceptance. I like the ending and the message that it conveyed.
Count me in, Mr. Futon! 🔥
Yeah I agree too many story lines. It was an average movie for me
The last scene was definitely a hallucination. It was him and his family acceping that the mental illness storm was upon them.
Another cliche comedy
The de-aging vfx was not good at all. It looked like a video game character whenever he spoke and the eyes were ridiculously large looking like a cartoon. They really should have gone with red chillies (Indian vfx company) for that part instead of DNEG. Kalki 2898 AD is the pride of Indian Cinema and Telugu Cinema. One word review: MINDBLOWING. Do not miss it at any cost. I hope Kalki surpasses every Indian movie produced so far including RRR and becomes the most successful Indian film. Absolutely mindblowing except some unnecessary cringe masala and cringe comedy with Bhairava in the first half. Kamal Haasan part is pure horror. The way they have imagined landscapes, environments, weapons, vehicles, powers, Mahabharata scenes is truly exceptional and spectacular. My one suggestion to Nag Ashwin is to explore the Complex society and the outside world more in depth because on the surface it looks like everyone is doing well enough even though they are starving for food, water, clean oxygen and they have just stuck some neon signs randomly on Indian alleyways and streets because that's how cyberpunk movies do it. Anyone who says it is merely a copy of Star Wars, Dune, Mad Max, MCU deserve to drink Kali's tears lol. Excited for Kalki 2 more than I ever was for Brahmastra 2. Prabhas and Deepika Padukone are good but Amitabh Bachchan is the MVP. Wow. Disha Patani's part is simply waste. Roxxie could have still been used to show Bhairava the luxuries and abundance of the Complex without that cringe song. Also, unnecessary writing mistakes like superhuman Ashwatthama suddenly not being able to lift Sumathi up should not happen. I wish they would give Shree Krishna better look. No yellow angavastram or armor or jewels or mukut. Just a white cloth and a head band makes him look like a Greek hero. Personally I would have loved to see Shree Krishna blue instead of fair-skinned or dark-skinned because that's how we all grew up watching him in all images. Deserves to be watched atleast twice. PS. For non-Indians and Karna (son of Sun God Surya) fans watching this, Karna was not more powerful than Arjuna. Karna is an antagonist and an adharmi in the Mahabharata who was jealous of Arjuna and committed many evil deeds and suffered for his karma and choosing the wrong side against the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Shree Krishna. Period. But he is not a cheeranjeevi (immortal) like Ashwatthama. How has he reborn or reincarnated remains to be seen. Note that according to some, Karna pushing Arjuna's chariot back is a fake story and Ashwatthama surrendered the mani himself.
I hated the movie - hated Nick cage as the bad guy, hated the unnecessary scenes of the detective walking up the stairs or shots of her driving, or walking through every single room of a house to answer the phone, hated the convoluted calendar, the confusing doll, the orb, satanism, half-psychic, the mom.... So much had nothing to add to the plot. Loved the artistic photography, sound design, and mood, but that's about it. Nicholas Cage just always comes off as a clown - this Chara reminded me of his role in Kick-Ass. they could have cast someone who made this way more terrifying. I also hated most of the decisions the characters made. Most reviewers on RUclips have been gassing this movie up to be some amazing movie, but it really missed the mark. AND WHY IS IT CALLED LONG LEGS?! 😂
Quite good legs, actually 👍🏼

How are you gonna give him an Oscar for barely being in the movie?
@skittlz101T Anthony Hopkins got one for Silence of the Lambs, he was it is for 16 minutes. Anne Hathaway won for 15 minutes in Les Miserables... 158-minute long film. Judi Dench won for 8 minutes in Shakespeare in Love.
Judi Dench was barely in Shakespeare In Love, but won an Oscar for it. Do your research better.
@@TheBlueFuton yes, what I just said.
I'm planning on writing a horror movie similar to this.
@themasterofgaming4149 The is exciting! I am 100 pages into my horror screenplay. I'm trying to make it unconventional, but one thing isn't sticking, and I have to figure that out.
Will you review Lumina? Since on The Numbers and Box Office Mojo its listed as a wide release.
@themasterofgaming4149 I will try, but no theatres near me right now.
I was thinkin she was real at some point and then died before the movie takes place…n he went on to do all that bad shit by himself only imagining her wit him as a coping mechanism…i dnt like that shit was never real And wtf was the point of the scene where she lost her mind?
@xay3527 That would have made the movie a lot better if she had been real in the past. It would have equaled better writing and film. I couldn't tell you, lol. Like I said, that ending ruined what they were trying to do.
It was good. Probably most random alien film though with the dead cats but it was quite heartwarming he genuinely cared for all of them ❤
@Dj_db Yeah... the dead cats was odd for sure. Heartwarming...absolutely!

You do know that since the original bad boys had a cohesive plot and less excessive violence and action that was exiting there has to have been most to some critics that liked bad boys 1

KGF is concluded
I thought they were going to make a 3rd.
Brahmastra was the worst film based on Indian mythology. That was false depiction of Indian culture and stories. Brahmastra bombed, failed to recover it's budget. They are not openly admitted it but makers are not gonna make another part soon. Kalki 2898 directly took Mahabharata references and stayed true to it. That is why it is recommended to every cinephiles. Pretty excited for Part two .
Saw Brahmastra in Imax and was highly disappointed.
You know have you heard a possibility of a director during critics for giving his movie negative word of mouth and that they are too stupid to know any better.
Critics liked the island 2005 because it was an intelligent thought provoking sci fi that cared about giving us important charachters to feel for and a story that made sense right do you agree that the story for the island 2005 made sense.
Would be appropriate to use the name of the tribe instead of Native Americans, so insulting. Like European Americans.
@Rkuuyam Cool story...There were multiple tribes, so which one? The tribe mixed with peaceful and angry Native Americans or the solo Native American that was brutally murders by other Natuve Americans?
Nag ashwin is good at his game, the characters in this movie are all moral duals of Mahabharata characters. Karna was a moral guy stuck in the wrong side , compelled to fight the wrong war. Bhairava as a character is exact opposite, inherently an immoral guy stuck in fighting a war for the good. The complexity in Bhairavi's character is a direct analogue to Mahabharata but in a moral Dual. For-ex Karna gets cursed by His guru for lying. Bhairava on the other hand sells his own Guru. Infact you can go back and read Mahabharata and you will find complete parallels in a dual form. Very complex character portrait, never see something like this in an Indian movie. Mani-ratnam did something like this in Thalapati but usually karna is hard to pull off even in traditional indian theatre, this is thalapathi on steroids. Lets see if Nag can connect the dots here. I think he is trying to do some karmic conservation law here but my guess is as good as yours
@jzzquant I really need to read what this is based on, lol. I am curious where this goes. I could be 100% wrong, but I have noticed that in Indian films like this, the "Superstar" of that region always has these characters' arcs but always comes out positive.
Football is not stupid you and your mum are stupid 😂
It was one scene early in the movie when he was talking to Cassidy in the school hallway and a student walked by looking at him crazy and that part made sense to me at the end because I assumed he was wondering who the hell he was talking to

I watched this movie last night with my bride of 56 years. She plans to walk The Way next year with her best friend since they both were age 3!
