    Good video! Is it possible to use a normal stovetop, instead of an induction one? If so, are there any added risks to this?

    • @TheRocketeer
      @TheRocketeer 20 дней назад

      Safety Guidelines for Cooking Propellant Avoid Stove Tops in Kitchens: Cooking propellant on a standard kitchen stove is strongly discouraged. If powdered or liquid fuel comes into contact with a burner, it could ignite and start a fire. Preferred Equipment: Induction Cooktops: These are ideal for their precise heat control and enhanced safety features. Portable Cooktops: For small batches, consider using a portable cooktop in a well-ventilated outdoor area or a garage. Safety Precautions: Maintain a clean workspace free of flammable materials, including overhead items that could catch fire. Always have a fire extinguisher readily accessible. Use a reliable digital thermometer to monitor temperatures accurately. Personal Responsibility: Ultimately, it is the responsibility of the individual preparing propellant to prioritize the safety of themselves, others, and surrounding property.

    I just finished watching this video, and the previous video where you made the castings and grains for the motor. So when making grains for a motor case, such as this snap ring motor case, does the core have to be a specific diameter? For example, why did you choose the core diameter that you did when making those grains?

    • @TheRocketeer
      @TheRocketeer Месяц назад

      The core can be 3/8 or 1/2, depending on what you need from the motor. A 3/8 core will allow more fuel, while a 1/2 core will give better lifting power. The number of grains, nozzle diameter, and core diameter determine motor performance. I typically use a 3/8 core for 38mm sugar motors because it gives plenty of lifting power for a Loc IV or similar. I may use a 3/4 core in a 54mm motor to lift a heavy rocket without sending the rocket too high on a smaller field. Excellent question, thanks for posting.

I am still trying to figure out the equation for core diameter because it seems that core diameter changes with the diameter of the actual grain. I uses sorbitol and sugar, and has a total length of 21 inches and four acrylic wings. When the metal ball reaches its peak by attaching a sensor to the ceiling of the head, an electric current flows to eject the parachute. Was the rocket's head heavy a problem? Is there a wing adjustment function through a separate software? I want to film my village before graduating from college next year. I would appreciate it if you could give me some technical advice. Thanks again for another nice video ! I can tell you for my Lipo Battery experience .... Don't let it sit for a year after you fully charge it. My GPS unit single cell Lipo is now no good !!

      My Lipo died after hanging in a tree for a few days. It went dead and that was it.

    I know this is bit of a older video but what are your thoughts on using 2 ematches in the igniter to insure a light

      Using two e-matches may be sufficient, depending on the motor's core size. A dipped e-match burns longer, which is important, and hurls burning aluminum balls into the core of the grain.

    Thanks again Chuck! Beginning to think about some releasable motors.

    One other question, what size hardware are you using for terminals? #8, #10 or metric?
