Making a Rustic Metal Cow Skull
I show how I made the cow's skull I showed in the introduction. Besides the wood back piece, it is made entirely out of steel, using plasma cut scraps. It was also rusted with a chemical mixture I discovered using a combination of trial and error, and the internet.
The idea for this project came from my high school fabrication class instructor.

Praying Mantis Basic Care - Part 1: What do you do when they hatch?

I should make it clear that this video applies to those of you who may have bought an already live praying mantis online. When a mantis is shipped to you, it may arrive at a few weeks of age and the same information will apply. I also would like to stress that you cannot release non-native mantid species into the wild. If you buy an exotic species, understand that you should be prepared to care...

Flamenco Guitarist plays in the Streets of Spain

I asked him before filming, and he agreed. I regret not asking for his name. It was amazing to see his skill, especially in person. The type of guitar he is using is a flamenco guitar which features a lower action, thinner body, the top is usually made from a denser wood than cedar (which is usually used in classical guitars) like spruce, cypress or sycamore. This gives the guitar a brighter to...

    I just found an egg sack stuck to one of my outdoor pillows I wouldn't have known what it was but the female praying Mantis was on the pillow staring at me when I went outside. Does it have time to hatch? It is Aug 21st and I live in Colorado where it gets cold at night. If I took it off the pillow I'm afraid I'd break it. It is tucked pretty tightly on the fabric. I'll just pray it is ok . I'd love to have a whole bunch of operating mantises around next year of longer.

      @@franciegwin She laid it so it would hatch next spring. A female mantis travels around and if healthy, will lay several throughout the few months she is alive after her final molt. You could try to remove it, they’re usually pretty tough. If you do, you could use string or something to tie it to a branch or somewhere where it can spend the winter. Or you could leave it there. Since it is wild, you don’t need to do anything to it in terms of care because the mother mostly knows where she needs to put it for it to have a good chance…

    I’m so pissed! I ordered mine back in April. The instructions they came with and online state more than once to just leave the egg sacks in the paper bag, place it on a window sill, check daily and wait. I didn’t realize there needed to be humidity even though it makes complete sense 😢 given that they still haven’t hatched, I can take a wild guess that they didn’t make it. So bummed.

    • @PablosProjects
      @PablosProjects 2 месяца назад

      I would avoid putting them together, and I’d recommend keeping them separate throughout all stages of life. But there is kind of an exception. When they are pretty tiny still, and they are really well fed, they likely won’t attack each other. If you need to do this, I would say separate them as soon as they become different sizes unless you don’t mind the smaller one becoming dinner.

    what age do mantis mate, and what age can you tell the sex

    • @PablosProjects
      @PablosProjects 3 месяца назад

      They are interested in mating around 3 weeks after becoming an adult. The rate at which they grow up depends on temperature and how much they are fed. And you can tell a few molts after hatching, so pretty young.

    • @PablosProjects
      @PablosProjects 3 месяца назад

      Ants might work, but their ability to see and hunt depends mostly on movement and shape so something that is dead won’t trigger that hunting instinct. In other words he’s not gonna eat anything dead. I bet he would go for some small ants
