Hi mate, thank you 👍🏼 Sorry for slow response as I’ve been working away. Mine was running a 16,000 lph Oase eco premium pump on a 1000 gallon pond only. It probably had to travel up 1.5m and through a few bends etc. so it would have been running less than 16,000 p/h. Probably my first question would be is what pump are you running? Thanks ☺️

@@abkoi yea , striped it rite down as you show in video even taking out the cyliners with aggerate in them and flushing them .Have filter over a year same pump been working great ,very happy with it , And this starts happening

@@johnblackmore7102 Yeah that's so weird? The only thing I can think of is if there is something blocking the return pipe which is restricting the flow back to the pond? Or have you checked that?

I got the very first version of this box, about 12y old by now. Had to replace the motor driving the sieve belt and the sponges once. About the pipes with these stones in there, they are a host for some bacteria performing a second stage biological cleaning. They are just sitting loose in the water flow between the separator and the exit pipe.

Hi mate, thanks for watching. In his defence, he had loads of koi before this and decided to move most of them on for a preference of the goldfish. Great filter system though and I suppose it covers him if he ever dives back into more Kok in the future 👍🏼

Thanks Aaron 👍🏼 Yeah he’s got mad skills 🤯 Pipework And fittings look like just standard plumbing solvent pipe to me. Drum and bio unit all purchased in sheets and then cut and plastic welded together. I wouldn’t know where to start 😅 Cheers 👍🏼

Glad to hear it mate 👍🏼 To be honest, I love what I have. It’s compact, suits the garden and pretty much trouble free (touch wood). Relatively cheap to run etc. Think we would all like the best of the best but funds and the all the trappings that come with it put me off. We will see mate but won’t be for a while yet 👍🏼

Hi Eoin, Thanks very much mate, appreciate it 👍🏼 The U.V itself actually has dials that you can turn to let more or less water through it. These filters like/prefer to be ran at full beans to be honest haha. I have everything cranked up to the max. Pump in the pond is a 20k per hour pump and the U.V is fully open to let as much of that through as possible. Obviously my pump is pumping vertically (by approx 1m) and round a few bends and 45s. So it’s probably not pushing at 20k per hour (but not far off). Long story short - if you are planning on buying this filter… run it flat out 👍🏼

Mate, believe me I’ve tried my Red Acer in that pot… it’s just so windy as my garden is so open that Acers just get destroyed in that spot. Had to move it to another part of the garden. I’d have a garden full of Acers if I could bud 👍🏼🤣 All the best!

Hi Mark, thanks for watching and glad you liked 👍🏼 The 90,000 is a proper beast of a filter. I thought of getting that one myself to be honest 👌🏼 Yeah the 20,000 pump is what I have in my pond. If this helps, it pumps through 4 x 90 degree bends and I think about 4 x 45 degree bends (if I remember correctly). It also pumps vertically about 1m so I think you’re good there, it’s a powerful pump. 100% get a retro bottom drain and try to stick to rigid pipe if you can. It’s much easier to “conceal” in my opinion. Can be ram into corners/along bottoms of pond walls etc. Also, get a retro bottom drain “low profile kit”, it keeps the pipework even more discreet. Yes mate 👍🏼 This is the low profile kit… www.eco-filtration.co.uk/product/aerated-weighted-suction-dome-low-profile-feed-kit-retro-fit-bottom-drain/ And this is the bottom drain I use… www.eco-filtration.co.uk/product/aerated-rubber-membrane-weighted-suction-dome-retro-fit-bottom-drain/ I personally haven’t had the air holes block but some people just get one of the long stiff bristle extendable brushes and clean them while in the pond every few months or so. Only takes a few minutes. I’ve not needed to do this but that’s how you get round it if it does 👍🏼

Hi mate, sorry for slow reply I’m away with work at the moment. There is a balance to where you can set the bar. However, the closer you have it to the front, the more often it will automatically self clean. The more further away (or up the screen towards the blue collection tray) the less it will self clean. Hi, the pump in the pond does all of the work. It is connected up to the retro drain and that then pull from the very bottom of the pond floor. The pump then pushed it up to the filter box from there and then returns to the pond 👍🏼
