Ponyboy + Strymon noise test
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.9 лет назад
This is a test of how well the Ponyboy plays with the Strymon Mobius. Since there have been reports of several of the Klone style pedals producing high pitch noises when used with some of the Strymon pedals I thought I'd see how Ponyboy compares to the the Archer. chellee.com/product/ponyboy/

Here is a quick first look at the two flavors of Odie overdrives. I was playing through the Axe Fx II XL using the Fender Deluxe preset. Please excuse the crappy playing. Look for better video comparisons to come.

Chellee Guitars: Built-in Chromatic Tuner
Просмотров 6 тыс.12 лет назад
Here's a quick demo of the new built-in tuner. It is now standard in all Echo models and will likely be standard in all future electric models.
If you don't have a dowel you can use a guitar cable. Just spin the cover back and slide it back on the cable. That's what I used.
Very good lesson. I've been playing guitar since the 1970s, and luckily never needed this info. Until now. That answered all my questions on how to remove the jack especially.
Thank you so much. That was freaking awesome!!!
Good video! Suggestions: (1: The jack should protrude very slightly from the strap nut. This will insure the guitar chord male jack has a proper and secure electrical connection. 2) A tiny (and I mean tiny!) bit of wood glue on all the threads will keep them from coming loose: sort of like LocTite, but less aggressive. Too much glue, however can be almost like a weld!
MERCI Monsieur !!! médaille d'or de la guitare :)
This was very helpful! I used a 1/4" hose from my gardern auto watering system (had extra) it worked great! lol
Holy crap. You can easily scar the finish around the jack by using pliers on the nut. Just use wrench.
Perfect ...thank you !
Excellent video. The dowel trick is great as it allows you to not have to take all the strings off, just loosen them. I put the dowel through the outside ring as well so that everything just stayed on the dowel and it was easy to tighten everything by hand, see how it was sitting, remove, push back through, adjust the inside nut, repeat. With my Fender it was a very fine line between having the jack come to the edge of the ring vs. the nut not tightening onto the wood, I had to try a few times and adjust the inside nut one turn at a time until I found the right spot. These jacks are the dumbest design idea ever, at some point I may just add another strap peg just in front of it so that the strap isn't messing with the jack.
There has to be a better design out there somewhere...
Excellent explanation and demonstration of this process to help us understand. Thanks so much!!!
Thanks! Great video, was able to get mine fixed in about 10-15 mins. I used a shish kabob stick and it worked well, you just need something long that fits through the hole.
Thanks bro, this saved my life while out gigging! Now I keep a 1/4” dowel rod in my case.
Great video. I have exactly the same guitar - do you by any chance have the wiring schemnatic for it?
Perfect. Solved an annoying long-term buzzing problem. Many thanks!
Great demo of a great pedal. I’m still digging mine after 9 years👍
Great demo of a great pedal. The Odie is still on my pedalboard after 9 years…should have bought 2!❤
Mine is rusty how can i loosen it?
Thank you for this. I just fixed my Ubass bass ukulele following your instructions.
what if you don't have a wooden dowel?
such a stupid design
Super helpful! I went to jam the other day and I heard nothing but jiggling. Hopefully I can find a rod long enough for this trick
The part from 3:03 to 3:08 is the one part giving me trouble - tighten the inside nut up against what? What's holding it in place?
where to get that stick?
I just realized my Acoustic/electric, inside the Jack plug , it’s all oxidized green color… must have gotten damp from being in the basement… could I maybe use Wire brush to kinda Ream it out? I mostly use it Acousticlly . Ordered a portable headphone amp , is how O discovered the Issue… “ btw , also The screws around the Jack are also “oxidized Green” /Gone lol damn
I had exactly the same problem, and once I saw the video, I implemented it straight away, and worked perfect ! It was really helpful seeing the assembly using the wooden stick . Thank you !
Thank you. Just what I needed!
Thank you for sharing this. 8 years after and this video just helped me to fix my guitar's end pin jack. Much appreciated!
Tried this and the screwdriver damaged the thread on the jack. Now I cant get it off and its loose.
Thank you so much for this video! This was really helpful!
I am so grateful for this video. Thank you for posting it and for the demonstration. Much appreciated.
This is a very helpful video. Thank you so much for posting it 👍🖖
Great video. I just had the issue you described, got the strings off and couldn't access the plug from inside but then I found your video and did what you said. Sorted now. You saved me time and money. Thank you so much.
Thank you
I've just done mine, thanks for your help.
Thanks much! The dowel trick works great!
Hey, just wanted to say your simple fix and explanation were perfect! Really appreciate it
Sooooo helpful. You can even do it without taking the strings off.
the problem I have is the strap nut is locked onto the barrel and is turning the whole jack. I can't just unscrew it like in the video.
Just fixed my El Capitan jack using this method. Excellent. Thanks so much for the info. Bravo !
Wish I would’ve found this video before I took my strings off twice trying to figure I out
Man you’re a genius
From previous comment: The noise came back so I picked up a dowel and followed the whole procedure - and it worked like a charm. Somehow the inside nut had completely slipped off the thread onto the wire.
wow - what a great technique - so in your face clever......merci boo coo
Thank you for this. I have a gypsy jazz guitar with a Bigtone pickup that was shipped from Amsterdam. I was getting a noise on C notes on strings 3/4/5. Actually C to D. Three luthiers told me to just play it, all guitars have frequency vibrations. I removed the end pin cover, placed the screwdriver in thread hole, and turned thread & outside nut together a short distance to snug. Vibration and noise are completely gone.
Thank you for your video
easy if you know how! Thank you, saved my Gig tonight, after I crashed my No 1 last night...
Thank you! You saved me a trip to the city.
Simply wonderful! Thanks very much.
Did I just do this by duct taping two chopsticks together? Absolutely.
