RX-78F00 Gundam DX Chogokin Light & Sound Playthrough
This video showcases the entire “Activation Experiment” program as well as the Luna Sea “BEYOND THE TIME ~メビウスの宇宙を超えて” track that is played by the Bandai RX-78F00 Gundam DX Chogokin toy.
Please excuse any errors in translation. I was able to copy some subtitles from Bandai’s Yokohama Gundam Finale broadcast stream, however the programs are somewhat different and so I had to rely on multiple machine/AI translations to determine the best translation within the context.
Also note that (as per my review) the figure and dock DO NOT MOVE BY THEMSELVES. I augmented the video a bit by swinging open the gantries and sliding the Gundam forward manually at the right times in the presentation... hopefu...

      Hmmm that’s odd. I have three (including the DA-91 pod gantry) and they all touch the floor/ground comfortably. If yours is brand new maybe it’s just a bit rigid. Disconnect the rear door and swap the ends and see if that is any different? I suppose it’s not a huge deal but would probably bother me as well.

      Don’t mean to scare you but better to be safe than sorry 🙂 Diaclone has really tight tolerances on the manufacturing, so it’s just natural that things are more rigid at first. Great question but I honestly don’t think he could have been adapted… Robot Base and Fortress X are really playsets that focus on the Dianaut interaction. I see what you mean in terms of Metroplex and Fort Max, that you could pretend the various activity centers were meant for other Transformers but unless it came with scaled down Autobots to take the place of the Dianauts it would just seem really random and unfinished.

    Since I saw your videos about Diaclone a year and a half ago, I've been hooked. Exactly the kind of combining robot toyline I've been looking for. I'm working on piecing together the Big Powered Destroyer, Convoy Greater Powered DA 92, the Dreadnaught Land Battleship and Air fortress and doing my own custom builds with the Tacticle Movers. High quality and exceptional engineering. Not many people have news on upcoming releases or fan builds, or the best place to purchase at reasonable prices. I've had some disappointing experiences with EBay and run into limited selections at the few online retailers. Any words of advice you could give a newer, but die hard fan such as myself would be greatly appreciated and I would very much be interested in any and all future content about Diaclone Reboot news and groups or other English speaking content creators to share in the awesome, yet at times frustrating hobby. There has to be other's out there that want to push the never-ending combination possibilities to the max. Lately I've just been watching your videos, Wotafa, Meilong Style and Longs Toys. Great content creators. I've noticed that people seem a little tight lipped on tips and tricks. Is that a common practice? Very cool if it is and I understand. The payoff to a killer combo or multi set, sturdy and ultra high efficiency Mega Earth Defense Weapon Platform is a heck of a sweet feeling of confidence and engineering mastery when it's I earned through diligent work and a lot of trial and error. Thanks brother for all you do and keep collecting. The new Diabattles is gonna be game changer. Check out the Ultraman Nexus Hyper Strike Chester Chrome 4 pack reissue. Is a magnifico!

      Hey thanks for your comment, so happy to hear I helped you get exposed to this amazing toy line and glad to hear you're enjoying it. Definitely get onto TFW2005's Diaclone Reboot thread, it's the most active western community for the line and you'll also see reliable resale opportunities which would be my first stop to acquire out-of-print releases. Then give Mandarake and Yahoo Auctions (both Japanese) a go before trying eBay or a western marketplace. I had some luck on Carousell too which is a similar eBay style marketplace in HK, Malaysia and Singapore. A lot of cool builds are posted on that TFW2005 thread, but normally they are reposted from Twitter/X so if you follow the diaclone hashtag you should see some cool and innovative combinations and build ideas. Man that Ultraman toy looks amazing! Thanks for the suggestion. It's very Diaclone but maybe a bit more 80's feel which is totally my vibe. I will definitely have to check it out. Cheers!

    Awesome model. These weren’t on sale yet when I visited, but I do have the 1/144 (+ HMT), 1/100 and 1/48… 😅 The 1/144 and 1/100 don’t have great color accuracy, but atleast the 1/144 has the dock. When you decal up the 1/48, you’ll see how authentic it is - it’s by far the most accurate Gunpla interpretation of the RX-78F00. My 1/48 stands next to the 1/48 RX-78-2 and Unicorn - the difference in detail between the generations of mega size models is night and day. Anyway 😅 brilliantly produced content as ever. What a fantastic model, especially with the dock and light show :) Easily the most “complete” home version of the RX-78F00.

    I was extremely fortunate to see the RX-78F00 in mid-March this year, completely unaware that it was closing so soon after. It was a wonderful thing, and it's definitely an experience that I am very sad I won't be able to see again.This set is a bit too rich for my blood, but I am definitely interested in picking up one of the smaller, more affordable model-kits of this design to have on display, if only to have something attached to me seeing it in person. It's a shame you weren't able to see it, the site itself had a written apology for the RX-78F00 being as limited as it was, which was funny considering it was right next to a 1:1 Scale Gundam haha. Maybe they'll do something crazy for the 50th Anniversary. More people needed a chance to see it, but I imagine the cost of maintenance, and location made it very expensive to keep at 100%.

      @robotoyworld from what I've read, the lease was always temporary, as the area is planned to be converted to housing/apartments. It was only because of Covid that it stuck around for so long. I imagine being that close to the sea couldn't have been great for continued operations, too. I hope they can find a new place to have it on display, even in a stationary capacity.

    I saw the original Diaclone line in a Japanese comic called Telebi-Land, in 1980, from a now long gone, awesome Japanese book store (I brought 2 as an 11 year old one to read the other to keep in mint condition now worth 1,500 USD). I wanted the original Diaclone version so bad, unfortunately in NYC, it was nowhere to be found. I’m happy for the re-release and it’s even better and cheaper. The current price for the vintage is 2,300 to 4,000 USD with missing parts. With the weak yen I paid a total of $750 USD for both combined. I also picked up the original cosmo roller earlier this year, All from Mandrake Nakano. Your channel is awesome I keep watching the videos over and over again. Keep up the good work.

    Which is the first Gundam Toy ever released? How can I find one in 2024? What signs should I look for in an authentic figure and its year of manufacturing?

    • @robotoyworld
      @robotoyworld 4 месяца назад

      I don't know for sure the first ever "toy" as it could have been something obscure but the first mainstream action figure was the Clover Gundam ST... this is the later DX which had a bit more detail and things going on. The DX is also about 1.5 times the height of the ST. In terms of where to find one it would almost certainly be in Japan. Yahoo Auctions Japan is their leading marketplace (basically the Japanese eBay), and you can bid on that via a proxy like Buyee or From Japan. As far as authenticity, I would be very surprised if there were knock offs around... I would be suspicious if it looked too new. Good luck!

    To me this is Japanese toys at its best. I haven’t had that kind of vibe since the mid 80’s and playing with Zoids and the original Godaikin bots. I’d have preferred these to be made exclusively in Japan, but quality is really high nonetheless. The plastic and construction don’t compare to anything you’ve seen in the market for at least 30 years and I’ve collected a lot of toys (I’ve also worked for Bandai). I’m selfishly hoping they don’t republish it, because this is really one of the best toys I’ve ever seen and ever possessed, even though not the most expensive. In terms of hype, I’d say it’s the same if not higher than the original Godaikin Tetsujin 28 which is to me the best toy of the 80’s. It’s impossible to find them (what you see out there are copies) as the toy suffered a fatal error in the material construction (metal fatigue), and Bandai broke the original molds as a result.

    • @robotoyworld
      @robotoyworld 5 месяцев назад

      Yeah to have them made in Japan would have added to the appeal but I think it's unrealistic to expect. Many Japanese companies have learned to export their QC to lower cost countries both for owned manufacturing and CMs, and what we've seen of the line after eight years is that quality is quite high. Thanks for watching and for the insight on Tetsujin 28! Is it just the Godaikin to be weary of, or even the Popy versions? It's not on my radar but good to know, regardless.

    Is the elevator battery operated or clockwork? It sounds clockwork, but it'd be unusual for a modern toy! I found your channel from your Gundam toy review, but I've fallen in love with your Diaclone videos - but I can't wait to see what you have in store!

      Yeah it’s completely mechanical, no battery. Agreed it’s very charming 🙂 Thanks for watching and for your kind support!

      Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll try a shorter intro on an upcoming video and see if it increases engagement. My thinking was to show some of the hero shots of the toy straight away but there may be a better was to do that while shortening any intro section.

    These videos are great! Is anyone aware of any other RUclips channels that review vintage toys with anywhere near as much detail and quality?

      There's two channels that focus on vintage toys and some new stuff: シャチはメカっこいいがお好き - Vintage toys from Machine Robo, Transformers, Webdiver, Brave Saga and more: www.youtube.com/@DX-kg7xc ユキオ/Yukio - same as above, sometimes with Japanese dialogue, sometimes without: www.youtube.com/@YukioRev wotafa/ヲタファ - same as the first, with Japanese dialogue (with some exceptions) and his current intro and outro is sung by Hideaki Takatori: www.youtube.com/@wotafa

    I love the different head sculpt. The design reminds me a bit of Armada’s Optimus Prime. Would be so fun to model for 3D animation.

    Nice look at a fun vintage set! Your copy is in very good condition :) I love how it transforms and folds up into a smaller, sleeker craft. The only vintage one I have is Dia-Train - in pretty good condition too! Fun set.

      Thanks! Dia-Train and Cosmo Roller are definitely on my list, I would have loved to feature a comparison in my DA-95 review. Where did you get yours? Mandarake?

    Of all the old commercials and promo material I’ve seen I’ve never even heard of this toy, I wonder how many more toys exist I haven’t seen?

      Yeah I've been wanting to cover it for ages as it's relatively unknown, but deserves attention as you can see. Thanks for watching!
