If you like to make things, tools, devices, you have come to the right place. Or if you just like watching how others make things, you are welcome too.
I will share techniques, ideas and inspiration here.
At the beginning, there will be examples from the field of woodworking only, but gradually we will move on to other interesting areas, e.g. metalworking. There is no reason to stay with wood when the world is full of other wonderful materials that are calling to work, to transform them into useful things.
Although I make my living as a designer, I've spent quite a lot of time in workshops - since I was a kid. Making things makes me happy. I personally feel more like an inventor than designer. Taking interesting ideas and improving them. That's actually where I am heading in my life.
I think I got inspired by Archimedes, one of the best inventors of all time. Hence, the name of my channel - Achitechdes.

DIY Build Earth Auger - Post Hole Digger / Dig Plant Holes
I didn't want to pay $100 for an earth auger that could easily be made in an hour or two, so I made one from scrap. You can see the process in this video.
If you want to make a post hole digger as well, an angle grinder and a welder are required.
I couldn't get any larger sheet metal, so I welded plates from narrower steel strips. It's easier to machine afterward.
Drilling is easy as long as the ground is moist and free of larger stones.
It takes me 5 to 10 minutes to drill a 40 cm (1.3 ft) deep hole. The diameter is 16 cm (6.2").

Planing Beams with Electric Hand Plane - How to Attach Planer Jig
Просмотров 196 тыс.Год назад
With the hand planer jig, it is possible to flatten timber frame beams, or very wide boards. Lumber height can be adjusted precisely. This video builds on my first video, where I showed how to make a base frame with a sled. Here you can see how to attach the jig to an electric hand planer. The accuracy of your jig will depend on the rigidity of the frame. If you use an aluminum profiles, you ca...
Build Workshop Cyclone Dust Collector
Просмотров 2 тыс.Год назад
Build a simple shop dust collection system in no time. My construction is mobile - it has wheels - and it can also be carried using the handle. Powerful cyclone dust collector can be made for a few bucks. If you have ever tried to use a regular vacuum cleaner in the workshop, you quickly realized the filter gets full in a few minutes. There has to be some other solution to dust, right? A cyclon...
Planing wide Boards or Beams with Electric Hand Planer -Adjustable Thickness Planer Jig -Woodworking
Просмотров 297 тыс.Год назад
If you have ever tried planing boards with an ordinary electric planer, you probably know how difficult it is to ensure flatness. If you need to plan a few planks or beams quickly, it is possible to build a simple adjustable jig. You need just to cut a threaded rod and attach it to some board. As you can see, it works pretty well, but still, the machine planer is much faster than this electric ...
How do you make sure that screws are synchronized? Can easily go out of plane.
I can see two problems. First, how do you make sure that this attachment to the planer -- these bars supported by brackets -- results in alignment that's parallel to the foot of the planer? Seems to be hard to do. Second, how to do you make sure that height adjustment through these screws keeps the parallel plane?
<snicker> Don't forget the $150 to $200 (Minimum) welder you'll need.
Ok
Да нормально всё.Спасибо за идею.У меня и чертеж был ,но...а теперь точно сделаю.
Ok
I like how you made the adjustable height fences.
I don't, because how do you synchronize them?
Always wondered would a mobile home tie down work?
What is the name of that store you went in first ?
Not the ONLY problem, that setup won't solve the problem with twisted/warped boards at all, which a real thickness planer solve elegantly. Still a nice and useable idea.
It will if the board is wedged and hot glued in place. 😊
terimakasih, bagus sekali idenya. sangat kreatif dan sangat bermanfaat untuk pekerjaan perkayuan. salam dari Indonesia.
I don't get it. You have a drill press, but you use a hand drill.
This is brilliant. I've always wondered why people always go with router planning rigs insetad of handheld planer. Seems like the handheld planer would be way more efficient at it.
Just what I m looking for right now, millions thanks bro.
Terimakasih🙏... Salam dari indonesia🇮🇩
Por qua do vc faz um desse pra mim...nao consigo usar a minha plaina eletrica manual...
Opá obrigado pela dica muito boa e de baixo custo.
You do realize that the axis on your drill press is skew right?
so many things wrong with this build, pitch to deep, digs to deep will get stuck ,clearly u can see its just picking up already loose soil ,also used in supper loose soils not for realistic situations.
Keep up the good work.
great job!!
I think this is a good idea. I woukd have made the side rails out of angle iron because id worry about those wood ones flexing too much.
Headphone warning at 10:00.
Отличная идея!
👍👍👍🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you

How did you mount the back post? I don’t see any bolts to use.
I just saw your 2nd video. Thank you
You show how did you setup the planer!
How to set up the planer can be seen in the second video: ruclips.net/video/Fl0PIJNlbxw/видео.html
This is awesome. I'm looking to do this with some pallet wood but don't have $400 for a planer. so if i narrow it down a bit and shorten it, i think we're in business!
proof of squareness?
I have shown proof of flatness in another video ruclips.net/video/Fl0PIJNlbxw/видео.html (at the beginning) by laying a metal ruler in different positions.
This is what I need for my electric hand planner
The Bosch gho 16-82 has mounting points for such a build.
Ta ai um video que eu queria gratificante tamos juntos
Put some metal weight on the ends of the boards to hold that thing down so you can get a nice consistent feed and not worry about it moving on you. Great idea tho, will probably get a hand plane soon and I’m just looking at ways to use it before I get it haha😂
At first, I wanted to rent a power auger from a rental shop, but eventually I was tempted to make a manual drill tool. Does anyone have experience with making similar tools? What have you crafted lately? I also tried attaching a drill to the tool, but 12v wasn't enough. Hand digging is good for the muscles, though! :-)
Can I ask how thick your metal poles are and how thick the wooden beams are? I have bought some wooden beams at 25mm wide/thick. So with a 12mm rod, I've got 13mm of clearance, but wondering if a 10mm rod would be strong enough
I guess I can try with the 10mm rod, and if not stable, go up to a 12, not the other way round 😅
The metal bars have a diameter of 10 mm. Wooden studs are 30 x 18 x 1000 mm. I certainly wouldn't try studs thinner than 30 mm (for 1000 mm length). A deflection would occur.
Joos❤
Really great idea,
You sell these? 😘
I don't sell
@@architechdesign Thank you for the reply. No worries. Keep on choppin!
Ingenious idea! And whenever a 'maker ' displays the skill And resourcefulness to make their creative idea a reality, they deserve credit, and respect for sharing their process w others .... BUT, i think you could've easily made some improvements: being that the end to end degree of level (in the board currently being processed) may be affected by either the planner 'arms' lifting off the ' running beams; i think you could've saved yourself the effort (and potential inconsistency of not applying ample and controlled downwards pressure)b by simply connecting those 2 boards... i know they need to move freely, but if you just had a ,L bracket attached to end of planner arm, the bottom of L riding along bottom of runners, they'd be kept from lifting, and you wouldn't need to constantly pay attention to that (and again, thiose runners are petty long and relatively thin wood... so if you don't apply pressure, the planner may lift... and if you DO, there's possibility of 'runners' flexing (and that may lead to low spot in middle of processed board.... So i bet you could've fixed that by making those outer runners out of square tubing. But regardless, it's a great concept, and you can continually improve design!
I think the cell phone has tapped into my conscience, just picked up a oak beam yesterday.
Really great idea, never seen this before. Will definitely try this out next time I need to flatten something very long!
That might be one of the best ideas ever.
How much will you charge me if you make it for me? Including the planer and shipping to Illinois.
I'm sorry, Victor, but I can't make it for you. I can't keep up with my work right now, or making videos or anything else. Furthermore, I'm overloaded. 😞
So many exceptional creative genius on youtube. I am amazed!
Great, thanks for sharing your creative ideas. Much appreciate the camera close ups and details. I’ll definitely use this idea!
No problem. Definitely give it a shot. I enjoyed planing beams even more than planing boards.
Sensacional!!!
Great idea!
