Retired Alaska girl sharing her personal tips and tricks to help YOU make Scrap-alicious Applique and other fun sewing projects! My passion is Applique and helping people learn at home for FREE! I make ZERO money off these tutorials & FREE PATTERNS that I design - I’m just paying it forward in thanks to all the kindred quilting and sewing souls who helped me in the beginning of my sewing/quilting journey. Their generosity set me on a path to making award-winning Applique quilts.
My hope is that these free tutorials will reach those eager to learn Applique, as well as those who are not able to leave their home due to illness or disabilities. Sewing replenishes the soul and there is nothing more rewarding than making something beautiful one stitch at a time. ❤️

TFS. This is really cute! Idea: if you make your yo-yo circles 1/2” larger, you can turn over 1/4” as you baste the edges and that will give you a beautiful finished edge that you won’t need to worry abt it fraying. This is how they used to make yo-yo quilts back in the olden days. 😊🧵🪡
what a great idea! thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing your wonderful pattern and ideas. This is definitely going onto my ToDo list. ❤😂 🇦🇺
Awesome!
Thank you for sharing and caring !!! What a neat little gadget !!! Just awesome 👍🏿❌👏🏿⭕️🥰👊💝🤎🙌🏼💙😍❣️❤️
This is a fabulous idea. Now we need to figure out how to sew and not cut the thread to begin. This way we can sew endlessly till our project is done. That would be a huge blessing. Thanks for the tutorial and pattern. These will be awesome too sew for a craft fair too. Now I need to go find my supplies and get busy. Thanks again, Babs near Tombstone AZ
I made one of these bags a few years ago and I also made a few Prismic bags (from the same designer) and put them in The Sew Together Bag by Birdcage and Thread.
Thanks again and your flip flop quilt is adorable.
Thank you for all your efforts and preparation, making a very informative video.
Great job!
What an adorable project!
Hi & thank you for this tutorial. I looked on Amazon for templar plastic but didn't have much luck. Can you elaborate, please? Or, is there another material that will work as well? Bless you!
Yes, you can use Karen Buckley Applique Plastic off Amazon😍
Thank you for sharing this wonderful tutorial
This is the best kind of sewing project for me - practical, good for scraps, but beautiful and customizable. Can’t wait to try it! Thanks for the great tutorial
Oh, thank you!! This will catproof my quilting spool, and then go in my EPP box. Cute, AND functional!

Cannot get the pattern to load and keeps jumping to drop box

I just made one of these today. All I had was a wide mouth ring, but I altered the pattern and it turned out great! Love this thread catcher ❤

So clever!
Where do you get the plastic to put in the yo-yos?
I order Karen Buckley Applique plastic off Amazon👍 The floor lamps are from Amazon too… Daylight Company Slimline LED floor lamp.👍
Thank you so much for this free pattern! It looks really neat! 😊❤😊
Very cute idea! ❤
What a clever design.
I just found your channel, I enjoyed looking at all your cool gadgets. Can I ask you what the little pink little pot with compartments is called and where to get one? that has all your threaders and needle pullers in. Please , I love it, but I have never seen anything like that before. I'm in the uk 😁🌈🤗
It is a HexRx pill container I bought at a Houston Quilt Festival booth about six years ago. I see that Amazon carries HexRx products but don’t know if this is still available. I hope you can find something similar!😍👍
Thank you for replying. It just seems perfect for all your little bits n bobs. I'll have a look, I got some needle pullers circles after I saw yours, thank you. 🤗🌈🌾
I am unable to access your web page
I don’t have a webpage, but you can follow instruction at the top of comments to print my pattern.☺️
A couple of questions: You featured floor lamps in your room tour, do you have links to those lamps and you mentioned painting on your quilt: what paints did you use?
I don’t know how to put in a link in these messages, I’m not very techy! But the floor lamps are from Amazon, Daylight Company Slimline LED floor lamp. The fabric paints are Jacquard textile paints (jacquard products.com), also sold on Amazon.👍
Thanks for sharing ..much appreciated...from Australia
They are sweet, but I thought the whole idea is so you always have thread loaded, then you say I was going to show you how to sew on the round edges, (which is the bit I was waiting for) but then you say, I don't have any thread loaded, 🤔🤦♀️ Weird. 🤷♀️
My apologies, I appreciate your feedback! I try my best to prepare before recording. Sometimes I make mistakes. I’m not a professional video maker or techie, I’m new at this whole RUclips thing so please be patient with me.😍
@scrap-aliciousapplique1081 I didn't mean to be mean. It was just a bit disappointing to get to the bit I would want to learn. It's fine. Sorry if I seemed harsh. We all start somewhere. I'm not sure I could even make a youtube video 😁🤗🌈🌾
Great idea would also be terrific for a gift exchange
Great idea and tutorial. Would like to make a few as gifts, but would like them a little larger. Can you give the formula for making a larger one with a larger canning lid?
I wish I had this when I used to hand piece my quilt tops. Great idea!
Coloque as médias legivel pra as pessoas entenderem ,por que do jeito que escreveu não dar pra ver nada😮
Great idea! I think I will be making this for myself and daughters who both sew. Nice tutorial..... I appreciate the concise instructions.
Great idea. Those are actually beautiful enough to use while on trips for tiny waste paper cans in a car if they were heavily protected with a sealant to prevent stains or to put small items in such as pens or pencils for children to write in a journal while traveling upon arrival they can be stored or used for them. Would make a great place to put toiletries I.e. toothbrushes in while traveling again if protected by a sealant. The ideas just keep coming.
I need to make some of these wee mindings for Christmas (here in Scotland a wee minding is a small extra gift). Thankyou so much
Wow I've never seen one of these before!! I LOVE this concept, I'll definitely be making some of my own. Thank you!!
Happy to see you back, I hope you're well.
Thank you. I am very well once again, thank goodness!😍❤️👍👍
Super cute ❤🎉
I really love this little gizmo! I can see me using these at different machines! I am excited about trying these! Thanks!
Great video! Thank you!
