We put a base gasket in every single saw we build
I'm actually pretty surprised the clone was able to hang that close even with the shitty carb. Granted theirs a big cc diff but still.....
U sir are a perfect complainer, im glad theres videos of something like this, this is exactly who u dont bring a saw to, hes the type to do work and blame it on someone else, u seem to follow the saw cult were u think taking .010 off a cylinder and it will run better, we are very close and will take my garage non saw shop build and saw would run 10 times better then anything u build, keep whining, cause i no u will!!
👍
Thank you for your HONEST review! Have a Merry Christmas from Maui buddy!..👍🤙🏽
How is that recoil? Just wondering if it hangs like all clones do
Build quality seems very nice 👍
I'll make my money with Stihl. In my PERSPECTIVE, they are the best saws for ME.
Decals must have fell off ...
@@danielmiller6616 The pull cover decal was damaged/torn as received so I got rid of them
Was that a unlimited coil that you put in bud?
@@jamiedalluge9472 yes 👍 … www.wolfcreeksawshop.com/product/new-west-ignition-coil-unlimited-for-husqvarna-357xp-365-371-372-372xp-385-390xp/
Just went to HL Supply, Husqvarna 572xp w/ 20” bar and chain $1,200? And you said you bought one for $700??????????
@@swsexton1829 The saw on the bench is in this video is a Husqvarna 562xp mark 1 not a 572xp. The 562xp was 20% off retail and came as a powerhead only to my door , for $700 (I bought 2) … Husqvarna runs sales of between 10-20% on their OPE just gotta watch. The newer version 562xp is the mark 2 which is the one currently available
@ but in your video you said it was a 572xp
@ no , I said it would equal or exceed a stock 572xp - it’s very easy to tell the saw on the bench is a 562xp simply by looking at the very distinctive clutch cover- the 562xp has been zipped and piped - I have a modded 572xp but there is no way the 372 will take THAT !
I buy them every day for $830 I give $1075 for 592xps $1150 for 500i
@ good for you! The man said on his video that he had a Husqvarna 572xp delivered to his door for $700. I went straight to HL Supply’s website and they are $1179 without tax or shipping.
Hsnaqvrna 372 clone saw available now on Ali baba - click blue link in comments … THAT’S a saw to mod with oem parts and resale for a more reasonable price !
I can say the crank is the same as the hnsavrnqua only saying this cuz it has same identical numbers as that one from the kit show. Yesterday

Machined and Ported the MS461 is a BEAST.... in stock form, they're better than a 460... Best saws stihl has built for the porting world has been the 044/440, 400c, 461, 500i and the 661... big gains are had with these models 044/440 with a 460 or 381 cylinder (381 cylinder needs A LOT of work to allow it to fit). The 400c is a mighty beast once ported... IMO, nothing in the 60cc class will touch it. 461 after machining/porting is 💪 💪 💪 500i with a 660 piston is ridiculously strong and when Port timing is right... itll stay in its power range without 4 stroking The 661 when pumped up run the way a saw of that size should!!!
@@RichFife You neglected to mention the “dark horse” …. The STIHL 064, 85cc -98.9cc depending on cylinder choice. At a weight just slightly more than the aforementioned saws above. THE 98.9cc version will simply leave those smaller displacement “machined and ported” saws begging for mercy when zipped and piped by yours truly!
There are plenty of 60cc class saws from bygone days that will not only “touch” the 400c but EXCEED it by a fuzz
@fabzacres-blackcat not even the mighty 262xp will touch a properly ported and machined 400c. You gotta stop smoking whatever $h!t you're smoking. "Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong Can you hear me, Major Tom? Can you hear me, Major Tom? Can you hear me, Major Tom?"
@fabzacres-blackcat there's a reason I didn't mention those saws... IMO, the most gains will be seen in the saws I listed. Some saws straight from the factory need minor tweaks. But a simple gasket delete, high flow, and stove pipe exhaust isn't the be-all say-all for every model/class of saw. Sometimes machining and port work makes them run like a banshee. "Pump up the jam Pump it up While your feet are stomping And the jam is pumping Look ahead, the crowd is jumpin"
@ the 262xp is only 62cc vs the 400c 67cc so 5cc more SHOULD be the difference maker along with the 400 having m-tonic , well at least for now the new 400i is 62cc also. Faith in your new apprentice misplaced may be… as is your faith in the dark side of the force ! Smoking too much ? You’re not smoking ENOUGH Fife! I think you just come over here and there to try and give everybody the shits
What's interesting is this carb is sposed to work great on the std bore version of 70.7 but doesn't on the big bore. Couple years back we built a orig 372 with a factory big bore cylinder, ported it and that sane walbro ran it perfectly. Go figure
@@jamiedalluge9472 It is still using the hilic carburetor here on this test so… the oem genuine hd-12 should arrive by tomorrow and I will retune / retest … The hilic most likely will function ok on the saw as delivered but when called upon to feed a modded/piped saw it fails imho
@@fabzacres-blackcat I have never had a Hilic carb for a 372 work properly on any build, stock or modded! If you want perfection you will need to purchase a Walbro for your 372"s, and that will add $100 dollars to the cost of your clone.
Sounds a little fat at WOT?
@@RichFife it’s the Hilic carb - I’m at 3/4-7/8 on the h needle and can only pull 11,200-11,500 reliably and repeatedly. It’s just too damn touchy and the adjustment isn’t linear. I’ve got an oem hd-12 arriving shortly and I’ll tune it to a nice “safe” 12,500-13000. I’m sure with enough time/money/effort and ingenuity one COULD make the Hilic carb function in a satisfactory manner however for $70 to my door for a KNOWN / PROVEN unit that’s stood the test of time(and is a 372xp oem standard equipment) is my preference here.
@fabzacres-blackcat a duck is a duck especially if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck.
@@RichFifeI cannot make chicken soup outta chicken shit !
@fabzacres-blackcat machine the base, squish, adjust the ports and then test it... I already gave you how much to remove, port numbers, you just have to do minor homework for the piston, etc... and then you'll be like, ok... this 372 clone saw is an animal. Lol
@@RichFifeWe don’t “paint by numbers” here at East Coast Custom Saws Mr Fife ! Each step of the process is slowly and methodically planned and tested accordingly, with the goal of increased cutting performance, fuel economy and longevity. We do not employ “boiler room production techniques” here Mr. Fife 😂
700$ lol my saw came with bar n chain, so coil and x torque carb 400 so far, that's everything, still running the torch plug
So do u think if buying clowns,,,better off going cheapo, neotec, holtzforma, farmertec?
Nice
😊
You can buy OEM Husqvarna 572xp's on sale a couple of times a year for the price of that clone 372. The Husky will have a 5 year warranty for the consumer buyer. The clone saw's have no resale value where as the OEM Husky's do IMHO.
I think saws of the farm mentioned in a comment that that hnsavrqua came with a marbro carb i have to go back and check
Why would you raise the exhaust lol.
@@steppoffaith8426 to gain rpm (if needed)
@fabzacres-blackcat a saw at 100 exhaust isn't going to turn any more rpms at 104. Especially in the cut 24" wood 24" bar. 104 will hold 12.5 k in the cut where 100 is lucky to get 10k. Now if your cutting a 9 inch cookie. 100 exhaust with 18 blow down and 180 compression is a 14k rippa with 10 pin sprocket.
@@steppoffaith8426 all depends on the saw. I suppose you’re gonna tell me that it’s not an air pump too 😂
You must beRUclips or Google hero. I actually have a Degree in applied science in automotive technology lol. And am master certified auto and diesel mechanic lol! With roughly 150 other certifications in the industry. Including Husqvarna and Stihl.
@ yah, and what the hell does that have to do with the price of beans 🫘? Y’all better go back and brush up on those old Ironhorse videos😉
Absolutely needs a carb
@@jamiedalluge9472 yah, it’s something in the design of these Hilic carbs - I’m in between 3/4 -7/8 on the h needle 🪡 here and it’s tooooo touchy of an adjustment for my liking. A walbro hd -12 will give me far more precise adjustment and STAY there instead of dancing all around. I could only consistently/reliably pull about 11,200-11,500 on this saw with this Hilic carburetor - that’s leaving quite a bit on the table … far too much for my liking at least
Ill build a 462 next week and come up first of the year for $1,000 to St. Judes
Pffft 😂! You’re a Husqvarner guy George- ya going to da dark side now ? 😅
@@fabzacres-blackcat I run Husqvarna lol. But I build them all. Lots of 500i s.
@@steppoffaith8426 500i nice saw - uses too much fuel for my liking - I can cut 2x the wood using the same amount of fuel with the 572xp and nearly as quick !
Hey, I’d call him out too. He thinks he has the best thing that since sliced bread.😂 parsley, I don’t know if I’d buy a saw from them
Video showing hilic carb and gent’s conclusion that they are not a tunable on the high end - my suggestion is to affix an oem hd-12, set it and go cut wood ! Search utube “man time” hilic carburetor and you should see the video
I wish i would of wrote down numbers on my farmsac on the crank and see if its same thing as my cheapest 372 i could find, rust and rotten says best cranks, well how many trading companies make cranks
Tear it down. We know the parts dont lie.
On the home farm in Gainesville ny on 78 we usually get buffalo weather.
Im near Letchworth State Park and I don't have anything
Well, that escalated quickly lmao!
By no way do I mean it isn't a bad carb cuz we all have had crapys haha
What a pain!!! The old adage, you get what you pay for. I say screw the Chinese garb and spend your hard earned money on real equipment! At least you know what you're getting.
Cldnt agree more. You can buy a nice used OEM reasonably and know what you have
Sounds like the needle is low making rich condition until a long pull leans out due to tuning for the momentary rich condition I have learned they tend to not know the correct setting from selling many saws to countries that run motor oil and leave carb set rich
I think what people are missing is the cost of use equation with the clone saws. If you pay $700 plus for a complete 372 clone ready to run and cut you may as well buy a New OEM 372xp. The clone will have virtually no resale value used where as the OEM 372 will have some market value simple because it is from Husqvarna. You will pay more up front for the new saw but you will be money ahead if and when you need or want to sell the Husky IMHO.
Sounds about right to me what your saying i agree, i watched a guy take apart a clone and measure it and it was not what was advertised, it was a few short on cc's, i have a couple clones still in the box and right off the bat i am assuming at minimum a 5% decrease in power from the get go and more than likely even more than that, i could be wrong but in my head that's what i am going with at the starting line.
Thanks for the video. You have confirmed my suspicions about Steve, his saws and business practices. If he was legit with his saw business he would have had the issues all sorted out before going to market. My understanding of Steve's motivation for selling clones was to offer saws that did not suffer all of the issues that have plagued the clones in the past. That would mean to me getting the issues sorted out before going to market. That does not appear to be what has happened. I find buying parts kit saws and putting them together my self the most reliable way of producing a clone saw that is reliable in the long run. I sprinkle in the parts I know to be problematic with any particular clone variant with very good results. I feel this method is the most cost effective way to go approach clone saws in general.
Mr. Acres, the war is over already, Steve has deleted the videos where he hung you out. That said, no mercy should be shown
Fabulous u may 2ant to go back & watch ur either last video or the 1 before tht. U stated ur now retired and have plenty of time to dick with saws now. This one u say here soon u retire. By way quit working these Saw builders all up Fabz
Gasoline works well too
I honestly rip it apart and check the engine size on camera anyway dude. I bought mine off of Temu for just under $160, with 24" bar, no issues out of the box. Crazy that he's charging $700
What is crazy is someone paying 700
He paid 365
@@nateludy6749 he got a duel port muff with it and a bar & chain, so let's say 125$ atleast for it so take that away from price 365 minus 125= 240ish with muffler too,, can't fix stupid right
@@alltherpm yet still nothing upgraded and it says it is the best clone. But nothin has been upgraded for the price. your right can't fix stupid
Let me be totally frank here : the saw as delivered runs, oils and cuts wood! I’m not saying that it won’t do its intended job at all! The issue is trying to extract more performance out of it … the coil / carb is inadequate imho. IF I buy a 572 for $1200 new it will “take” to the mods like a fish to water , THIS 372xp 76.5cc “clone” saw NEEDS some OEM components to be replaced to achieve the performance gains. The fit/finish - feel in the hands etc of this saw is very good and for most will perform the job! For a gear head like myself who wants more “zip” outta his saws it needs the parts. Saw Absolutely needs the coil , I suppose one could “dick around” with the hilic carburetor and use “JB weld” / micro drill to “make it work” however at a shop rate of 100/hour it is simply not economical to do so especially when a superior walbro oem hd-12 can be had to your door for $70 🤣
Scrambled or sunny side up?
Take more work but u cand add all your things too it carb coil pipe etc run it and then run it like it was sent then do ur side x side vids
I'm pretty sure a few of the Stihl versions were left at ironhorse to try out. Be very curious to see the results on Harveys channel
I hope you have plenty of time to wait, not much action on Harv's channel.
@Andrew_Johnstone ya he's been hit and miss. Always look forward to a new ironhorse video
U can by a short block 372 with a big bore for 60 or 70 dollar it comes with the cases and cyinder ive found
The seller claimed these to be a 'beast' out of the box. Obviously not the case apparently
@@jamiedalluge9472 perhaps it’s a “beast” to him ! To me I wasn’t satisfied with it but it DOES operate as it should so ….
@fabzacres-blackcat perspective is definitely a factor when describing something..
**Let me clarify my comment on previous video**I was saying that you can buy a clone from a better known/ established clone saw brand for much less than 700$ and it won’t come with the BB. I wasn’t saying the saw shown does or doesn’t have one.
@@Houseworksaws ok , I thought you were speaking of THIS saw
@ No I probably didn’t write it clear. Sometimes what I’m trying to say and what actually comes out in text doesn’t match up or make sense lol 😆.. I’m just not a super fan of BB cyls simply because all they do is take a standard bore cyl and bore it 2mm larger. So you don’t have any increased transfer flow to aid in the larger bore and actually it tends to make a worse transfer entry angle but that’s a major discussion. The whole BB cyl thing is used as a selling point of “bigger means better” but we all know that’s not always the case. Anyways hopefully you can get this whole fiasco sorted.
76.5 will have a 52mm bore like a 046 or 460 stihl
Exactly
Steve: if you’re any kind of guy you should send me the updated coil and carb … anything LESS “wood” be …….. uncivilized and not in line with is your stated “customer service” … In this First ( and definitely LAST ) dealing with you I’m NOT satisfied with the product as delivered … PERIOD!
You was aware of the switch issue and bent dog....that's not worth mentioning being a clone lol
@@brandonf1226 yes Steve did make mention of the missing switch but asked me not to mention the coil and carb. I’m simply NOT jeopardizing my good name to misrepresent someone else’s saw to be something that I know it is not !
Go Farmertec simply because they’re far more refined and affordable. That and it’s not a BB cyl 🤮
@@Houseworksaws it’s not ??? - Says 76.5cc right on the sticker ! Do you know that for a fact??? - I mean I can pull off the cylinder and measure the bore if need be. That would be a REAL kick in the balls IF it’s only 70.6 cc but advertised as 76.5cc …..
The one you have is a BB I’m saying if you buy a FT 372 you can get it in standard bore. I feel you can get more power from the standard bore cyls.
