A masterpiece!

I have always loved this song - had snagged it - on cassette! - when a local radio station (Boston, WAAF) played it during an interview with Gary and Nuno, back in the 80s.

Omg I listened to this over and over and over when I was really little. I finally found out what the song was and listening to this I couldn’t believe that I remembered the words still.

Nearly 35 years and a bottle (or 50) of Jim Beam brings me back to this song. Awesome.

3:17 One of the most beautiful slow guitar solos ever composed! Just awe inspiring to this day. IMO: Nuno should have made this its own track and called it "Rising Dawn" or something similar. It's an amazing piece on it's own.

02:29 One of the most "difficult" to play guitar solos ever recorded. 2:46 Nuno's speed and clean, articulate picking technique is still untouchable to this day.

0:21 I still remember thinking at that time, "Holy Sh***, that has to be THE best rock/metal guitar tone I've heard!!" and it's still one of the best to this day.

For a comedy film, they incorporated a damn good and fairly somber song!

Using "the Battlecry of Freedom" for this is actually such a nice little detail-- the past segment of BTTF III taking place in 1885 would've been just 20 years after the end of the US Civil War-- it is likely that quite a few, if not almost all, middle-aged men living in California at that time would have been Civil War veterans, and thus The Battle Cry of Freedom would be a song they all knew, and may conceivably be a song that would be played at important community events. A small detail missed by 99% of the audience, but a great one nonetheless.

One of my favorite tunes ever. Severely underrated tune.
