Noctua! Spin on that thing!!
Seems good. 👌👌

Larger fans tend to move more air at less rpms compared to smaller fans... not sure how this mod wouldn't be able increase cooling with less noise... Your benchmark also seems to lean in favor of the mod as you had better frame rate and temps with the modded fans... not sure why you would not recommend the mod exactly. From my experience modding with custom fans in the past, Using both methods of connecting them to the gpus header, and also running them on max speed off of the system fan controller, both resulted in much better better cooling and reduced noise levels.
Thanks
That's not how quiet Noctuas are at max. rpm though. I can clearly hear mine at 1600rpm sitting at my desk (PC is under the desk on the floor) while I have a standing fan running in my room.
Nice benchmark !

The Noctua 120mm fans will need less RPM to achieve the same temperature. And even when they spin with the same RPM as the original fans, they will be way more quiet. U cant tell me that u let ur graphics card run on max fan rpm all the time. The only time u need that, would be for high overclocking benchmarks. And even then, u can get noctua nf f12 fans that spin up to 3000 rpm, which are optimized for static pressure. And as an addition to that, if u connect those 3 fans directly to the mainboard, u dont draw any additional power from ur graphics card. Which in this case gives u a maximum headroom of 10 watts when all 3 fans spin at max rpm. which then helps with overclocking records. And the wider area of airflow will also help to cool down other parts like the vrams and other things on ur card. Check it with HWinfo. The core temp is not the only thing that needs to be measured.
Hi! the link of STL file you left in the description seems expired😂. I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide me with a new link, big thx!
I also left my email address in a previous comment but that comment had vanished 😢
I think I found your work on thingiverse, still big thx to your creation!
i think low sens really helps with micro corrections with low zooms but i think high sens makes 180s and flicks feel SO much faster. in general it feels better to aim with my wrist never leaving the table, never having to reset/pick my mouse up. and it feels SO good to have insane recoil mitigation by millimeters of movement. rather than buffing one of my deltoids just to stay on target.
So I did a similar mod but with 3 NF-A9's on my Sapphire RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ and am able to run them quite low RPM while maintaining temps and much reduced acoustics.
I did 3 Arctic p12 max and dropped a few C. The merc310 makes this annoying "rattle" sound with stock fans at high speed, and it's even worse with the p12s. I suspect the fin design is making this noise due to increased airflow and pressure. I went back to stock for now.
7900xtx merc310 and it has this sound that I can only describe as a "metallic rattle" at high speeds. At low speeds, it sounds like one fan needs a serpentine belt change....I think it might be the design...the fins might be shaking at high fan speeds or something. I can't see or pinpoint exactly where the sound is. I put 3 Arctic p12 max 120's on it and have the exact same sound(they do drop temps by a few C during testing). It's like a heat shield on an exhaust type noise, and it's so annoying if I'm not using headphones. I think I'm going to just buy a water block for it. I put 3 Arctic p12 max 120's on it and have the exact same high speed rattle.
0:35 Broken it’s Needs Fix
Read the description! If you replace the splutch assembly, it should work again! If not just return the parts.
Your shift actuator went bad. It's not a particularly difficult or expensive repair, so if you're reasonably handy this should be an easy one.
Show us some other good ways to lose an arm.
Hi ! Can i use your Bracket on a XT Version ?!
If the cooler dimensions are the same between the XT and XTX then you should be able to!
The thing about deshroud and replacing fans with case fans is that you can actually have high quality fans instead of whatever comes with the gpu. you can use tapes to cover off fan areas that doesn't blow air into the heatsink. This will result in a boost of static pressure towards non-covered area.
Even if the same temps are supposedly achieved with the same revolutions, the Noctua fans are much quieter and sound more pleasant. I'm really thinking about doing a mod like this because my original fans are whirring. I don't know anyone who runs their GPU at 3k! That sounds like a jet and you don't want to play next to it!
I barely want to play with it when I try to game, the damn fan noise disrupts me. Kind of what led me to t his video...
Something wrong with this test??? With nochtua you have more FPS and look at the 1%low
and what about 2x 140mm fans?
2 fans are too weak, 3 fans are too long
TIPS: 1) I had COIL WHINE noise when I used Noctua fans to mod my GTX1080. Probably due to the extra current draw. I ended up putting the 2nd Noctua fan cable to the MOTHERBOARD case fan header. I then used "Fan Control" software to adjust RPM based on the GPU temperature. Worked great! 2) My new Asus RTX4070 Dual OC card is slightly disappointing. The fans turn ON at 55degC and off at 40degC. That's fine, but the fans turn on at 1000RPM which I can hear if the sound is off or quiet from the speakers. If the fans started at QUIETER it would make far more sense. (you can NOT drop the fan speed lower. And trying to set ANY custom fan profile disables the fan's ability to turn off. So if I try to make fans quieter at HIGHER temperatures then the fans spin at a MINIMUM of 1000RPM. Sigh. Why?) 3) MODDING is something I'm considering but any modded fans would still start at 1000RPM (AFAIK) and the Low Noise Adapter wouldn't help. The voltage with an LNA is lower, but the fan sends the tach data back to the graphics card so it KNOWS what the fan RPM is and would likely just adjust the Duty Cycle for the 12V to match that... so the MAIN advantage for my card would be to get the fans that are QUIETEST at 1000RPM. 4) The Noctua NF-A9 PWM (chromax black) appears to be the optimal fan for me. You don't want the fan to extend BEYOND the heatsink. I looked at the SLIM version of this fan but the power usage is much higher so I wouldn't want to hook it up to my card. 5) There's a 4-pin PWM adapter needed usually as the graphics card 4-pin is smaller than CASE FAN connecors ** 6) My GTX1080 fans were set to start at roughly 400RPM. I couldn't hear the fans spin usually even when gaming with no sound on! I did a sharp ramp up from 78degC to 83degC so usually my Noctua fans were spinning at no more than 600RPM (sitting in the 70's).

those stock fans wont last long, while noctua is good for at least 10 years
Thanks man, nice way to get this benchmark on Hunt showdown
This isnt about rpm's... this is about noise levels... Noctua wins for sure...
Great video, the best part is when you shit yourself @5:05
How thick is the gpu with these fans on? How many pci slots in thickness roughly?
I'd say around ~4-5 slots.
Cool idea. I wonder what screws did you use for this? The ones already present from the original XFX Shroud?
looks like an3d printed fannshroud plate
Wonder What could be the results by replacing Noctua's with Phanteks t30's🤔(Aslo they can do 3000 rpm).
t30s don’t even get much cooler while having significant noice to perfomance issues
Noctua has 3000rpm they’re called ippc 3000.
Is here 13600k faster than 5800x3d generally?

Seems reasonable to me. Why not.
@@4nlimited3dition_4n3d because my 4090 with 133k pulls 170 avg on medium settings. You prolly haven't played the game.
@@D2G10 Might be something going on your end. I have seen testers getting easily over 300fps in the challenges mode. 250 doesn't seem unusual. In challenges I get 150+ and in normal matches I get around 100-150 on my RTX 3070 + 3700X at 3440x1440 resolution and medium/low settings.
I want to do this on my 6600xt esgle and replace the 3 fan system to x2 noctua 120.
I've found higher sens is much harder with heavier mice. Sense it's so heavy, it takes more input from your arm/wrist in order to move the mouse, so it's easier to accidentally move the mouse too far. I've testing high and low sens in csgo with heavy mice and it's nearly impossible to hit a damn thing at longer ranges because of how much your mouse moves even when you try to barely bump the mouse. An attempt at barely moving the mouse almost always overshoots my target.

Wish a partner produced cards that came naked with their own fan mounts to add fans of your choice out of the box. It would be popular.
I remember thinking that same thing! They should come with their default fans/shroud and then also include 120 or even 140 mm brackets.
@@shacacoora same, there should be a "diy GPU" model with memory pads and cooler with fan mounts optimized to actually use case fans effectively
@@shacacoora How did you connect them? I have a nitro+ which has 1 4-pin and 1 8-pin connector, both going to its 3 fans. I've not found any adapters for that yet nor do I know the name of the connectors.
Hey James! I just connected them all together with a couple of Y-split fan cables and plugged them into a fan header on the motherboard. I then used the "Fan Control" software to link my GPU temp. with a custom fan speed graph. @@jamesm5192
I agree, it would be good to have a relatively cheap card like Asus x Noctua series
Why noctua gotta make em so ugly though
It’s there marketing campaign to deliberate make them ugly because they perform so well; “performance over aesthetic”. Although they have all black ones released now.
The difference is the 503 has the Eotech style ring reticle and the 403 does not. I have 2 503 and one 403. The blue tint is on older Holosun red dots. My 2019 503 has this bluish color my 2021 and 2023 403 and 503 are both verry clean. The dot is far more crisp than on my 2019 aimpoint Pro.

I had a Palit GT 740 with one fan smaller than 90mm, and when I replaced it with two 120mm fans, I got a better temperature with a maximum of 56C in gaming. Yes, it is better to use an aftermarket fan when you have a tiny fan or only one fan in the GPU. :)
This is an absolute joke of a gpu.
How so?
Which cooler do you use for 5800x3d?
Corsair H100i
Is this a bug at 1%low fps in Hunt /13600k 200fps constant?
I don't think so. I just ran the same speed run trial (Fort Carmick) twice and I got the following: FPS 1% Low 183 & 204. Something that I should have included in the video would be the video settings that I used for each test. It was silly of me not to do that. Anyways, I had all the settings on low and the resolution at 1440x900 with a render resolution of 95%. This was to make the CPU the bottleneck for the test rather than being limited by the GPU. If you need the screenshots of the two runs, I can send them to you along with my settings.
