Photography and Mental Health
It has been such a long time since I have posted a video and this is down to my poor mental health. A common sign is that hobbies or tasks that you normally enjoy, often become a chore and you procrastinate until they become impossible. This is true of me and photography and making videos. I apologise. In this video, I try to explain.

They don't look any different but the colour film has different layers that are sensitive to different colours. Black and white film is just one layer.

Hey John! quick tip, rather than pushing down on the hinges to close it, you can push the button (used to open it) and it buckles both hinges at the same time and lets you fold it closed. I just got one of these yesterday and found that feature by accident. I appreciate the video and was sad to scroll through ebay and see the film selling at $75/pack...wow! Take Care

An addition and a correction to an otherwise excellent overview of SilverFast 9. 1) The scanner piece in the lid is a light, the scanner uses the same sensor for everything in the lower part. The two are kept in synch during scanning. 2) to cut out that annoying mirror image scanning problem, put the negatives in the holder emulsion side up, shiny side down.

My father purchased one in late 50s and has taken so many photos using 620 film. I have this with me now. It is still working. In 1980s I used to buy 120 colour film and transfer to the metallic 620 spool after locking myself in our wardrobe. The results were good. All my initial learning on photography happened with Kodak Sterling ii

Doing some research on the A3000/A3 -- I have come upon a huge batch of older cameras and have two A3000s -- they look fine, very clean -- the meter and battery check seem fine *BUT* that -frame prewind happens -*-EVERY-*- time I hit the shutter button. The mirror does not flip up or the shutter open -- they just advance three frames. I tried both with an old roll of film with DX code to see if that made a difference -- nope. Any idea what might be wrong or a simple fix? Thanks!!!

The last of the series for Agfa and Ansco was the fast f2 lense and range- finder which is a very heavy version but many had issues with the shutter advance gear wearing out and focus grease becoming like glue and seizing the focus ring, .... it is very sad indeed that this German company came all this way and ended up making junk cameras in the end.... losing all those men and woman who built these fine cameras by hand is truly sad 😔 but all over the internet they are forsale and live on .
