My friend Kelly decided to get engaged to this girl who lives out near Portland, OR. He lived in Nashville and figured it would be a great idea to move across the country to be with her before they got married. We drove from Nashville to Portland in a little over 2 days. This is our trip - all of it shot on a GoPro. The music is "On Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons. I do not own the rights ...

So, this show was really good, but in this one particular part, John breaks down and gets really sentimental for a moment. He talks about how he's been selfish for his whole life and starts to cry. Fast forward to 3:57 and that's where it starts. I recorded this concert on the FlipCam and just wanted to show people what happened during his concert. I do not own the rights to this music and I am...

I just found this tape in the pocket of a bag and had to put it on here! This was a project that i did my sophomore year at Lee University in Mrs. Dukes class demonstrating an In-Camera edit. This means that you can't do any post editing. All shots have to be planned out just right. This is an "okay" example i guess.... I think I made like a 90 on it or something... what happened during that time? why he was apologizing?
Upon watching this…however many times I have and still do, I just want to go back in time and give him a hug. Not like a “there, there” hug, but like…just a huge bear hug.
That was the start of a baptism when he entered into that solo. You could feel the self cleanse. Incredible moment that I’m sure he will never forget.
The test of time has proven John Mayer is golden. He was golden then. He's golden now. He's golden forever. Even his errors work out for the good of everyone. I love it. I love him
Oh wow. Owning up, acknowledging, turning a new leaf -Proofs of wisdom that sets him apart from the rest. Thanks for the awesome music, brilliant playing, and the inspiration. Loved you since R4S jm!
Through it all I always loved this guy. Talent abounds!
The honesty of music.....<3
I love that that was the setting for his biggest apology regarding this topic. Not a big PR move or anything, just a guy owning up to his mistakes and trying to get better. And he’s also one of the rare people who actually did what he said here and figured it out.
LOLOVE 💙 PAM
8:43 the guitar cries along with him
I was at a concert in N.Charleston SC and he actually said all of this. Awesome🔥♥️
True to his word....he figured it out. He worked out what was important because it meant that much to him...his music..his family and friends ..his self. It's the learning from our mistakes and actually doing something about it that creates self love and respect from others. I have nothing but respect for John Mayer and his music.

I love you John ❤️
12yrs ago Wow. It's sure flying by. I love this Song... 🌎 ✌👀🌸💙🐩
Now I just had a Ugly Cry.💜💙💚💛👍👌🌸👀 just be yourself.
"My name is John Mayer I am gonna figure that out" feels like an epic dialogue some protagonist said
Literally got goosebumps while listening to this, does anyone know an another video of this live with better quality
Here ya go! ruclips.net/video/T_jW3DHOKSg/видео.html
@@BambinoPinguino thanks man!
I think everyone in the world is obligated to watch this at least one time. A lot of people need to hear it. I did. And it quite literally turned my life around.
Still gets me
Im actually glad he went through this. Every experience if you pay attention will cause growth and better understanding. If it will bring you to tears in front of a huge audience, and he could still eloquently verbalize it, it doesn't get much more in your face than that. Long after this occurred, and several albums later, I would say he learned a helluva lot. The proof is in how he lives his life now. He has attained being a grown up. I love all the music and the guitar emotion. Forever listening
Says the most inspirational thing ever and then continues to about put on a master class on the guitar
And this is another reason why I LOVE THIS MAN...JCM!! I'm glad you've finally grown up into an "adult", btw, you're even sexier when you cry!!😍❤🎼🎸💗💕👍👍
Wow I have never ever known a celebrity to admit to mistreating others because of the fame and fortune and thinks he's above schemes, and not respecting his love ones feeling. Great job John Mayer an amazing adult and man you are❤❤❤❤❤💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 MUCH RESPECT!
Well this video 10 miles away!!!
The limelight , isn't always what it appears to be , and can be an unforgiving place to be , keep us all where the light is !
This video somehow serves as a representation of him at a time. And I mean the full crowd, bright lights, but you can’t see him. The spotlights are all on him. All lights, all cameras, plenty of action and the man himself is lost in it all. Idk just me tho.
9:54 where is the rest??
that solo is crying with him bro
So no one is going to talk about how he denies stealing this song from Stevie Ray Vaughan and still managed to make it mediocre?
It is amazing, how the audience has a sense for Steve Jordan being such a legend. And John's guitar tone: this is unbelievable.
Flash forward to 2021. #sobrock
Its his honesty to us, fans, that makes us stick with him till the day he stops making music. Im honored to be a fan of this man's work an of him as a person
Watching this after his Sob Rock album
Me too! And still love him dearly
This man has grown so much. It’s inspirational. He did what he set out to do. I am super glad I found his music! Keep slaying John
mans got a gold Rolex named after him :-)
"My name is John Mayer, and I gonna figure that out"
a lot of people are trying to cancel him again but he’s genuinely already apologized and owned up to his mistakes. he’s changed so much as a person and there’s no reason to keep bringing up everything he’s done wrong. it’s very obvious that fame got to his head and made him believe he was on top of the world, but he’s sincerely acknowledged his faults and took the time to step back and reflect on himself. his attempt to be charming and clever got the best of him but he admitted to his wrongdoings and i respect him for it
why are they trying to cancel him nowdays?.. and who? I didnt notice that..
@@belabiester7442 I don't think it's anything recent. JM's a celebrity punching bag for writers who want to gain a few clicks. They pick and choose a douchebag thing he did in the past then frame it as a recent development, absolutely disregarding the progress he has made into becoming a much better person than he was before. It also doesn't help that a big proportion of Taylor Swift fans are still currently rabidly holding deep grudges against JM for his relationship with her 10 years ago. I mean, look at the comments section of his first and second Tik Tok posts.
@@belabiester7442 no one's trying to cancel him. my guy smoked a really green blunt.
@@IsThisRain well...it's post 2020 internet...everyone's trying to cancel people nowadays

The stage lighting designer needs to be paid well. 💯
There's pain in every note of Gravity
By God, he figured it out. Huge inspiration. It takes a true humble heart to apologize to others and to seek your truth. Absolutely love JM.
Those lights were working against him
This is beautiful - ive seen it before and it makes me weep
when he starts playing again his guitar sounds like its crying and bleeding.
Fuck, this shit is intense!!! The one and only!
Dude is pouring his heart out....even if he was pulling some kind of Andy Kaufman prank , I want to hear what he’s saying without 35 year old moms having a girls nite out and shrieking constantly ..you know we roll our eyes at the audacity of him baring his soul like that but that comes from the same place his musical sense comes from. To access your feelings and express it thru a guitar is a rare gift. Even all of us who can’t do it spend a lot of money buying recordings and going to concerts of people who do it well. ....it’s like we sort of envy the balls or an artist , Who can go with a feeling, and not worry about if it looks cool. Working in the face of possible ridicule
What did he do?
There is a better angle of this same performance on RUclips if you search “John Mayer Apology - Gravity”
why am I watching this
I've wondered how he holds up often singing this cause I'm always tearing-up...
That guitar solo brought me to tears
