Maltete Parent Steam Engine, 1876-1880
Просмотров 324 года назад
Built by the firm Maltete-Parent of Paris, France. Interestingly, there was an old scorched scrap of paper found rolled up in the chimney. Written on it in French was "patent motor. Built by Maltete Parent, 19 Rue Debelleyme, Paris" which further investigation would prove to be the correct address prior to dissolution of the partnership.

Doll Steam Engine No. 336/1(?) with Doll Gattersäge No. 756
A while ago I brought one in an excellent condition quite cheap. But I had no idea, that it was THAT old ! ! ! About 120 years ! 2:04
It would appear that someone has very industriously has grafted a weeden cylinder and piston onto the Plank ? . Nice way of repairing a cool old toy .
Yes, someone jammed the two together. I suppose it works while not the most beautiful repair. One day I will come across the spare cylinder I need for this one as well as a few other engines I have. Then I can take the weeden cylinder and maybe mend an old weeden I have.
Nice with unique accesorie
Repainted basement?
The base plate and flywheel were repainted long ago by a previous owner. The remainder is original. I'm still on the hunt for the correct generator.(at a reasonable price, hence the long hunt)
That’s a wonderful setup Benny. How are you doing?
very nice and rare
run well!
It has a real functioning steam regulator?
No, like most of these toy models they do not have a functioning regulator. Some of my larger models do. Thanks for your interest! I have many more engines, just not enough time to make/edit the videos.
This engine of yours was the first one I saw on this model that reached higher speed, a good fit.
Thanks. It took a small amount of adjustment to the carburetor.
I’ve noticed the m12 revs much higher than the m16. Most likely because of the shorter stroke and the more efficient design. I will be buying one actually!
@@Farmtractor Yes, in general the M12 is faster, yes! Do you think the piston stroke of the M12 is shorter than the M16? What I know, the M12 has 2.6 cc and the M16 with 1.6 cc, as the carburetor of all engines is the same, the optimization in the 2.6 cc may be better. From what I see in the videos, the M12 the crankshaft is more fragile, and perhaps the bearings too, as it is very common to see an M12 engine with the steering wheel turning crooked. One day I want to have an M16 like yours and an M12, I also want to make all the adjustments to see if the engine looks good like mine. Your engine I believe I can make it work much like mine, I'm in doubt if your fuel is better or worse than the gasoline I use. What I can say, the gasoline I use is of very poor quality, has no lead in its composition and still has 25% alcohol mixed with gasoline, which is horrible for any carbureted engine. Here in Brazil, there is no pure gasoline to sell, all are bad and mixed. That is why engines that were designed for Brazil, work well anywhere in the world.
@@ManualdoMotorStirling well I am actually selling my m16! I am going to buy 3 new engines. The bigger hit and miss engine, and the new throttle governed (4 stroke) “hit and miss”. Although it’s called the et8, it’s not a hit and miss. But made with the same materials and looks identical. And then a m12. My m16 is going to someone who had a motorcycle engine that looked like that. So it’s in good hands. I’m very exited to try out the larger engines!
@@ManualdoMotorStirling and I do know that the piston stroke is much shorter. I’ve seen a disassembly video. It has a larger bore, lower compression, and a smaller stroke. More efficient design in general!
The "asymmetrical flywheel" is the greatest variation of the Ajax.
You dezefe more subs man
That runs really well. Love it. Playing with danger, so close to the edge.
"Danger" is my middle name. No, wait, make that "Reckless"
Quite a machine Rev. You got taste
Excited to see your Table Benny! 🤠
awesome video
Excellent Benny! This is what I was looking for... your engine has no problem at all running the PMR Generator. 👍
None whatsoever. The bulb was even a 3.5V and was getting plenty of juice
Bonjour Benny, Cool, another one operating perfectly. Which number is it :+) ? Amicalement, Raphaël
Mercí, Raphaël...The production number is #18.
Great video Benny! need to open mine up and give it a run
Just don't wake the baby, Nick.

Excellent video Reverend. You have definitely upped your game in the editing and filming! A very nice JC in great condition.
Very nice exemplary !
Quite a model Benny, congrats ! :-)
Very nice machine, even without its stack ! I made some small triangular stickies ... just PM me on the forum ... :-)
Your best video so far Reverend. And a wonderful early Carette to boot. Thank you for posting!
Thanks, Charlie!
Very nice one Reverend. I have never seen a vertical JC. You did a nice job filming and editing the video. 🤠
J.C. made only 2 different models, Charlie ( 1 oscillator and 1 dual acting ) ... They are 50 times more rare than statics ... and I have no idea why ! ( and I don't even have one ... :-)) )
oliv vapor I can’t believe you don’t have one of these Oliv. You sure you don’t have one hiding in the Attic of many wonders?
Sure thing Charlie :-) I felt late attraction for these little french machines ... But they are good runners, and show an historical interest, as they are so few french makers !
