I don’t make a ton of money, but my hammer is my most prized tool. I work underground and it has saved me more than any other tool ever has “besides a Jack ifkyk) I have a custom hammer. It was expensive but it’s what I want(cheaper and better than these too if you go to a local blacksmith and tell him exactly what you want and the purpose of the tool, he has a great understanding of hammers lol) but better than any produced hammer you can buy.

He must be a bricklayer on his mother's side!!😂❤

Take a trowel and start cutting brick or tapping fown block and see what happens to the steel. Rose is the best Marshalltown second the rest are junk.

Laying brick 54 years either W. ROSE or Marshalltown end of story. Rose comes in different lifts. Rose cones in different blade thickness regular or limber. Rose makes a ton of patterns all available in leather, wood, or rubbery handle.

The guy that makes these is one greedy f***er . The steel head costs twice or more than an Estwing and that stupid furniture bolt fails . He wants £70 for a hat and t-shirt and still idiots buy them . I've owned an Estwing all my 35+ yr career as my father did before me for over 50 yrs . It was his hammer , I got when he passed some ten years back . Still works a treat .

I worked with my father from the age of 15 until i was in my 20ies we , in the sixties the weapon of choise was the WHS London pattern, the older brickies used to say that the name brand stood for Work Hard and Starve ! People always thought it was a joke when Dad had to order his trowels as being left handed he needed a left handed trowel , as with the WHS one side was straight the other slightly curved , different from left to right, one thing i will pick you up on , you said you could lay a brick with a bread knife slip of the tongue surely as you lay bricks with your hand , you lay on the morter with your trowel , keep your head down and ass up mate cheers for now , as with other things, its not how big it is its how you use it 😊

Expensive hammers are t necessary but if you have the money and want it, then go for it. I’m heavily invested in dealt power tools and Milwaukee packout and only use about 2/3rds of it for most jobs. Really just something nice to have around if you can afford it.

Brick trowels,are a personal choice,based on size, feel, weight, one size dont fit all, just like golf clubs,
