Here are some tips If your laptop or computer says that secure boot fail or some thing else about secure booting here is how to fix it Head over to the bios menu find the supervisor password section that should be in security make a password that you wont forget because thats the bios password so to enter the bios you will need to enter the password and next go to boot and disable secure boot and you should be able to enter If f12 or delete doesnt work google the laptops company like dell hp or other and it will show it so basically search for boot menu key companyname and then you can keep pressing it if that still doesnt work if youre on windows 10 or 11 you can log out and hold the shift key while reeboting by pressing the power icon at the bottom left and then pressing reebot and reboot anyways while holding shift then when it starts rebooting release the finger from the shift key and you should be in recovery and there should be an option to choose a boot device you can also use your cursor/mouse in recovery to make it easier to do

I recommend to use Rufus instead of etcher because with etcher you may have problems with reusing the key after

Just use rufus , lighter , faster , easier

Tip: If it is your first time, i recommend dual booting it with windows or the OS you are currently using

If you want to try multiple distros you should use ventoy to flash your fd

Maybe I've missed something but why use Etcher? I've always double clicked the ISO-file, copied the files to the flash drive and booted from it. Works with both Windows and Linux.

Too complicated

pro tip, this doesnt work for arch, gentoo, alpine, or lfs. there are alot more installation steps

if the iso doesn't work,use rufus default settings also wait a few minutes after flashing it and right click and click remove safely
