While not the best known Steely Dan song, Babylon Sisters (Gaucho, 1980) is a fan favourite and in our opinion, peerless in the SD catalogue for complex, jazz-fused chord structures, stunning back-ground vocal lines and a captivating, cryptic story line of Hollywood LA materialism, excessive live style and decadence.
The dark undercurrent of energy and bright vocal highlights make this a somewhat unexpectedly difficult song to perform.
All in, we love playing this film noir flavoured musical epic.
