My left side passenger window will roll down, but not back up, do you know how I could fix it? I can only roll it up from the driver controls.
Thanks for making this video!
Great video. right to the point!
As a complete dunce when it comes to cars, this video is extremely helpful, a godsend
Happy to help!
Very helpful!
Finally someone who shows the steps clearly and not too fast of a pace. Thank you so much!!!
What about the lower lights that are on the bumper?
I actually haven't considered that! I'd have to look into it or find a diagram online.
@@theflynnerd7179 I guess they’re called daylights, mine just went out I’m looking to replace them myself.
Thank you sooo much for this video!!! 🙏🏻💜💜💜
Since this guy is a beginner, here's what's wrong in this video: The input level switch should be set to Lo when using RCA sub pre-outs from your deck. If you don't have RCA amp pre-outs from the deck, then you connect the sub from the speakers in your car that make the most bass and set the input level switch to Hi. On the power connector you have power, ground and remote. You want to use remote turn on and set the Auto On switch to REM if your deck has a remote turn on wire. If it doesn't, the preferred method is to install a toggle switch near the dash that runs +12V to the sub on the remote input, then you can turn on the sub manually. If you don't have a remote wire on the deck and don't want to rig up a switch then you can use Audio or DC Offset to turn on the sub, but as he said in the video that might not be as reliable. You can also run the remote turn on wire from the sub to a fused 12v wire that turns on when your ignition is turned on, but make sure there's a fuse as close to the power source as possible. Make sure sub is grounded and tight with as thick of a wire as your power wire. You want the ground as close to the sub as you can. When running power wire through the firewall if you can't fit the wire alongside the factory harness in the center of the grommet, try to drill a hole in the grommet or notch the grommet on the top so the power wire isn't resting against the metal of the car. This can wear through the wire and if your fuse is a cheap Chinese fuse with incorrect amperage rating, or too high of an amperage, you'll have a real smoke show or a car fire.
Pinning your comment here! I've learned quite a bit from this video and am planning to remaster it at some point.
which one good REM or Audio?
If your deck has a remote turn on wire you connect that to the sub and switch to REM. If you don't have a remove turn on wire, you can rig up a switch on your dash with +12v to the sub to turn it on and switch to REM. If you don't have a remote turn on wire and don't want to rig up a switch then you can use Audio sense or DC offset.
So… I unplugged mine ( exact same subwoofer ) as in just the “remote” plug and the audio input. Then I plugged it back in and I don’t have any bass. But when I unplug “remote” cord the bass comes on but it sounds different and not in a good way ( not in tune with the music ) Not sure why…
@2:00 lol sorry. Ur turn signal is 7440A not 7740A.
You're right! Thanks for the correction haha
Also u got a new sub for ur xB content 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you sir 😁
What brands are ur led bulbs u have? And why not upgrade to led turn signals and ur DRL marker lights as well? Along with the rest of the bulbs to led?😊
Well, I hadn't seen led versions of the other lightbulbs but you bring a great point! That brand for the LEDs is Oxilam.
@@theflynnerd7179 I’ve seen those. Some of the products are same as Auxito which they’re still great products. I highly recommend Lasfit, sylvania zevo, and Auxito. Those are the brands my vehicle lifted xB has, along with my family’s Toyota Sienna.
I’d recommend replace the headlight housing for crystal clear headlight for the best light output and beam pattern. And got high beams I hate my orientation, so go for lasfit - LA plus with a 360 adjustable friction fit. Which is nice. Always have the led chips that’s two sided left and right. Ur high beam led bulbs have a L shape Allen screw on ur 9005 led bulbs that’s hidden behind ur orange O-ring. U should try loose them so u can fix ur orientation for proper alignment and get the best light output as much as possible. It may not matter for high beams, but this helps a lot.
This is great advice, thanks!
@@theflynnerd7179 Hakuna matata man. Glad to help 😎🙏🏼
Thank god these xB2.5 are the easiest one with easy access to upgrade our xB2.5. Mine is the 2015 lifted Scion xB. Fully equipped with led from lasfit, auxito, and morimoto led bulb’s replacement. Use to on sylvania zevo and I still carry them, specifically for my brake lights. Just in case if my morimoto brake lights are bad, I can use my oldie but a goodie zevo red led as a backup.
Thank you
Glad to help :)
Nice tutorial. I'm going to install some sound deadening material on the doors of my 2011 XB Release Series and this video just showed me how to remove the door panels. The only difference for the front door panels is I believe you need to pop off the triangular panel at the top that houses the tweeter, then disconnect the tweeter to be able to remove the triangular panel completely.
Very true! I didn't thank you mention that in the video, but it is a simple part of the whole process. Thanks for mentioning it!
Do you think it would be the same thing with a Scion xD front passenger door?
I can't imagine it would be too different. It's the same era of vehicle from the same company. Since it's a cheaper economy car, they'd like want to cut costs and use similar components. It's always worth a shot taking it apart, it's not likely you'll break anything if you do it carefully.

What wire kit did you get, I’m looking around and I’m only dining the subwoofer connection and can find a kit that has the power/ground/fuse with it
Have you been having issues with oil consumption
Yes, I have been having awful issues with oil consumption. 4 quarts over 1500 miles

What cinch to Molex Adapter do you use? i can't find any of these adapters!
I'm so sorry, I don't understand what you're asking here! What time stamp in the video did you see molex?
Finally someone explained the ground cable thanks so much!!
Glad I could help!! I found it by trial and error, and thought I would share. Happy listening!!
This was a helpful video for me. Did you replace that speaker by any chance? It sounded like you said you had to work on it. Because that’s exactly what I need to do, but idk how.
Ooh sorry I missed your comment!! A few things: I have replaced the speakers in the vehicle. It isn't difficult, but it's a little involved. The stock speakers are held in by plastic "rivets," not screws. You will need self tapping screws to install them. Otherwise, you cannot just plug the speakers to the stock wiring because a new speaker and the stock speakers have different connections. If you buy from crutchfield, they will send you a plug and play adapter right in the box, so I recommend that. I only had on adapter, and ended up having to splice the cables together and saulder, so not the greatest. Long story short, you will need: - A drill - Self tapping screws - A cable adapter (buy from crutchfield!!) - Possibly some material to place between the metal frame and speaker for sound dampening - Some patience! And you should be set. There are plenty of generic videos online of how to install new speakers. Look at basically any Toyota video.
HEY DUDE, your ground is LOOSE, thats for sure and sloppily hooked up into the sub connector ALSO, using a aftermarket head unit with SUB OUTS, shouldnt your powered sub woofer be using the low level input selector ? Im using hi level and audio sense but im hooking into factor rear 6x9 speaker wires for signal input.
You're right! Since this video I have fixed the issues you mentioned.
Big help. Thanks !
Glad to help out!
You might be burning oil like my 2012 xB, as 2nd gen is known to burn oil(you probably already know this). I follow DIY Dave and I fixed my oil consumption issue. ruclips.net/video/84MylatwpN8/видео.html
Ooh thank you very much! I will certainly take a look :)
Why did you not use the middle part of the connector to the sub?
That is, as far as I know, never used in a car installation. Ground goes to negative, positive goes to positive. Never touch the middle. It won't break anything if you did put it there, the sub just won't turn on.
that’s not right, you connect that to a source of +12 volts when the car is on and 0 volts when the car is off. Then the sub turns on and off automatically. There are multiple ways to turn on and off automatically, so it’s not necessary, it’s just technically the most reliable remote turn-on method
Love you
Will the speaker work if I don't have a fuse
You can over amp it and blow it. Or start a fire. Put a damn fuse
If you do this, it is almost guaranteed that upon electrical failure, you will destroy both the sounds system and electrical system of your car. This will happen because the wire will short and melt with the unconstrained energy flowing through it.
Do you have to have that fuse on the power wire?
no but it’s very recommended.
Yes, you have to, or if you wreck your car the wire will light on fire and total your car even in a minor crash
Yes, as close the battery as possible. Do you know what happens when an 8-10 gauge wire shorts out in a car without a fuse? You don't want to find out.
does it work well without running a signal wire or do you think it is worth running it
If you mean a REM wire, then absolutely yes. Even with my car off, it is still picking up some sort of background noise, so the sub never turns off. If your head unit has the REM port then go for it.
@@theflynnerd7179 I was having the same issue it would turn on with the music but not off. I ended up taping into a fuse with the remote wire and it worked well. didn’t wanna open my dash back up haha
this is strange, I have same problems with mye oneplus 8t and it happened the last weeks. I am on latest software updates too. I have to stick charger in and out several times before it charge at all or charge at warp speed.
It is quite strange! The best explanation is that in the battery saving mode, the phone isn't pulling enough power from the charging brick, so it stops charging for a moment. Otherwise I'd have no idea why it's happening.
Thanks for the video installing that same setup right now and had no idea I didn’t need to wire the speaker wire to my head unit saved me a lot of time!
Glad I could help, hope you enjoy the new system!
