The Ultimate e-Ink review for note takers - Remarkable 2, Kindle Scribe, Boox Note Air3 C and more..
How could I replace my paper notebook with something digital? Being a user of Evernote for years - which works great - I still used paper for certain scenarios. One day in Jan 23 a colleague showed me his Remarkable 2 eInk tablet and I immediately started an entire year long search for the ultimate eInk notes taking device. Lots of devices reviewed - Remarkable 2, Kindle Scribe, Rocketbook, iPad mini, Boox Nova Air 7.8, Boox Note Air3 C.

Healthtech Gizmos - AKTIIA 24/7 Continuous Blood Pressure Monitor / Wearable Review
Просмотров 12 тыс.3 года назад
This is an unboxing and review of a really cool new device from a company called AKTIIA. The wrist worn wearable measures your blood pressure, 24/7, and will help you understand your true blood pressure, as measured throughout the day, and not just a single point in time. Great for helping to identify if you really have hypertension (high blood pressure), hypotension (low blood pressure), or ju...
Amazing video and comparison
So only a minute in but I had to stop… In what way is “Typing” subpar to writing? Most likely you do not know how to type as it isn’t taught much.?. By typing instead of writing you never need to look at the keyboard. Unlike trying to write a sentence which is almost impossible without looking down. Also typing is much faster than writing, so. Still at a loss of why someone cannot type whilst listening. And pls don’t try to say it takes time to setup, BS. Conf calls are almost always planned ahead by the very nature of it being a Conf call it cannot be spontaneous. So one would have plenty of time to press the power button, click on program and done.
Seems strange that someone who loves typing so much has even selected to watch an eInk video? Anyway, it’s just a workflow that works for me. I am merely sharing my story. Have a fun day
I don't get it. You had the ipad and stopped using it because it was cheaper? But you already had it, so why upgrade?
For me iPad Pencil has zero friction, and so I find it hard to write with it, unlike eInk devices which are like paper. However, my iPad remains a critical device in my kit bag. This was never about money, but more about which was the most easy to use.
🙌 you understand the struggle !!! Must feel like paper and must be intuitive
This artist loves you fucking take my money. Good review
Best E-Ink for students?
I just cannot decide. I’m a literature teacher, so I need to annotate my books, but I also need to sync to Google drive for work. I don’t think any tablet does both.
The best approach I've used is using two devices, one for reading, the other for mind mapping my notes, with a highlight for the first pass.
I get it that u dont read. (than why u mix up e-book readers and digital notepads in a video is kinda confusing anyway) but rating down something just because u cant email with them its funny. I bought the scribe to read. and it is amazing. ps: Tap the Share icon on the top-right corner. On the Share bottom menu, choose Quick send to [your registered email address] or Share via email.
My kindle scribe writes without touching the screen. Im not wrapp aluminum foil around it. Just bought the more expensive pen with eraser.. Atm... really disappointed.
I use a laptop with a screenless graphic tablet.
sadly you seem to completely miss the mark on your conclusion. Why on earth you'd chose a Remarkable over a Boox Note Air3 is beyond me. All the use cases you chose are covered with the Note Air3c. I use Microsoft Notes daily on both the device and my PC. both are perfect for each other! Plus Kidle, and a bunch of other Android productivity apps.
/?I found the Boox devices had pen lag with none native Notes apps. Do you see that in your experiences?
@@healthtechgizmos1305 - no noticeable pen lag from my experience. Of course using OneNote you don't get all the features the native Note application offers, No AI tools such as shape or lasso options, and the pen types are limited on OneNote. But for meeting notes, task management and general collection of images, notes (hand written and text), links (that work!), and associated documents that I can later see on my PC is perfect for my use case. Plus I have the advantage, should I chose to, to read books and periodicals (Kindle), and even have access to my emails and text messages (you can be a grown up and not use them if you don't want need those types of distractions) all on one device. Just don't try and watch videos or play games. Technically you could, but it's not designed for that, obviously!
Have you tried the Kobo Elipsa 2e?
The way of presentation is nice but honestly you are bias against Book Note Air 10.3 C. It is way better than Remarkable 2 when it comes to note taking. Even the Book Air Note 2 is already superior than Remarkable 2. I have used Boox Note 2 for more than 5 years and the software Onyx has built for its devices. Android E-ink is the best.
No global search on remarkable is baffling to me, defeats entire purpose
thanks for the video! this video maybe useful for syncing kindle scribe ruclips.net/video/dhPmsdWU3ss/видео.html&ab_channel=BrandonBoswell
very engaging story. edge of my seat. lots of plot twist and character development. big fan lol
Awesome video and story telling. Will you get us your thoughts on the newly released Pro?
did i miss it? what about writing feel? i can't stand the slippery glass feeling
I love the way you started off the story with your use case! I wish you tried the SuperNote. I was really looking forward to that!
brilliant story telling art!
Thanks for showing th eidfferent products. I have and always will have a problem with listening to the advice of someone saying this product is the winner for me, when this exact brand is partnered with the video... Nevertheless still valuable information.
What are you talking about?!
did you try the SuperNote?
Unfortunately not……I didn’t know about it at the time. Definitely sounds like a contender
No solution for poor guy like me 😅
This was the best review I’ve seen. Thank you! You saved me so much time.
I really just wanted something that would convert my writing to text as I went but was similar to pen and paper otherwise. I like the feeling of handwriting everything but having to type everything afterwards seems like a nightmare to me
I have had a remarkable 2 for years. I have autism and I love the way it gets rid of other distractions
That opening use case is exactly me and my needs! I'm feeling good about this review.
You got my attention right way and enjoyed how explained plus and minuses. Looking for a b/w think remarable 2 could be the one.
Just do the review
This review needs a thumbs up! Thanks for putting it up.
omg... this is the best video to find a good ereader tablet.. i have similar case with you and thanks for the recommendation!
can you make video on 'The Ultimate e-Ink review for Mindmap'
You will be thrilled to see the new reMarkable Paper Pro that has everything we have been looking for! Just out today!
That's what happened to me. From Onyx Boox, tested remarkable 2, returned it, to get it back 6 months later because I could stop missing it. Now I am super happy a year later and does not miss my Boox Note nor the LUMI 2.
Very relatable. Thank you for the help! I just wish I had your experience with the SuperNote. With the updates, its feature set seems to be fully in my wheelhouse. But a steal of a deal on a remarkable 2 sealed it for me.
Great review. But did you try the Supernote Nomad or any of the Supernote devices to compare?
Not yet!
bro clean your desk please
Why not look at the Elipsa 2e?
This kind of review is the best. I salute you!
You forgot to check Supernote
amazing explanation😍
I’m surprised that you found the paper like screen protector a challenge to write on. Admittedly, I got the iPad Pro and the bigger screen made it easy to write on and the paper like screen protector is now 3 years old and going strong with the Apple Pencil. Although I am looking for a digital device that can easily convert my writing to text. I take case notes every day- so people being able to read my writing is important.
I would never buy a Remarkable regardless of how great the writing experience is, solely because on top of handling + $500 for the device, they still expect you to pay a subscription... Disgusting. But it's just my opinion anyway P.s. I'll go for the Kindle Scribe
Best review out!
I really liked the way you reviewed except for the lack of consistency amongst the various devices you tested. It seems to me that the Boox Note Air3 C has the same feature and price as the Remarkable plus it can display in color. I feel that you didn't give the Boox a fair chance because of poor video playing quality in color that you didn't really care about. The features you praised on the Remarkable also exist (on paper) on the Boox I would have loved to hear your opinion about it as you surely would have tested. Video is nice but I don't think anybody gets into e-ink device to watch videos. Reviewing the impact of color on documents would have been a more sensible thing to do in my opinion. Thank you for a nonetheless a well made review. I'm currently in the market for a e-ink device for myself and after watching your review and going to the web sites for specs my current bias is for the Boox but I'll continue researching.
If you have used any other traditional screen tablet - iPad or Android - then Color EInk is really weak. And I found I was constantly messing with the temperature and contrast to get the right visual balance, which I had to change depending upon content. So, for me Color added no value. As usual it depends on your use case. If color is not important, and you want one device then a black and white Boox would be a decent choice. Let us know how you get on. Thanks for your comments
kindle hs been updated sync is much nicer and you can write on pdfs
you didn t try kobo yet?
I just looked up the Remarkable 2. €650! I'll stick with paper
Buy a cheap cover and pen from Amazon….that massively reduces the price, and you lose no functionality
Why not the Lenovo Smart Paper?
