Safely Discharge and Dispose of 1S Lipo Batteries
Here's a quick video I made on how to safely discharge and dispose of LiPo batteries. This video focuses on 1S batteries, but you can do 4S and 6S as well.
Tools you will need:
Soldering Iron and Solder
Side Snips
Lipo Safe bag for battery
12V Automotive Light Bulb
XT60 with leads
Electrical Tape
Volt Meter

Flying around the high school in marysville ohio. First time flying here so I was a bit cautious. I also wasn't about to hop the fence into the stadium to retrieve a crashed quad so I took it easy. Flying my FPV drone around Mohican Adventures campground in Loudonville Ohio. The person in the video walking the dog is my wife, she is my visual spotter while I fly to ensure everyone's safety! Not sure why you wouldn’t just twist the leads together and then solder them together. Rather than tinning each individually. Seems like an unnecessary step.

Somewhat unrelated to this video but I got the Hakrc f7230d fc from FPV crate, just like you did in your video, and I noticed the gyro seems like it's missing. In betaflight it also says gyro missing. Looking at the board in your video it seems like yours is missing as well. Does it work in betaflight for you? If so did you have to enable it somehow? Also I flashed firmware using the MATEKF722 target, maybe this was the wrong one? Thanks!
You list 2 drones? which one was used for this?
Hey Michael, the drone is a custom build. It was made mostly from Xilo brand parts. However, it has a DJI camera system on it.

Thanks for the great review. I might switch my subscription from the sub250 box to this one.
This box turned out pretty good. I guess what's left would be a vtx or a camera, not sure what else they would send next. I ended my subscription and for now just sticking with fpvlux.

I love that you love the Imperials. Other motors just don't compare. Too small. 😆
The lume skids can be illuminated with an LED, if that interests you. The skids can be purchased separately from the led and control board.

I am thinking the same as others. I signed up because of the JB QAV build and this has nothing for that build. If it does not improve, I am canceling as well.
Sounds like double props next month. Same this was my second box.. Next box better be killer or I'm canceling. Had fresh prop blades pop off mid air.
Crazy. I flew the crap out one pair that came in the June box. Never did break them. I havent pushed my luck to see and tried another set.

The response from fpvcrate on the recalled props is they plan on sending the replacements in the July box if they arrive in time. If not the August box. Crap.

I contacted them about the props and thy said “thy don’t think thy are recalled”. I don’t know how you would not know if thy where recalled or not. A turd of a box glad this will be my last box.

Yea not great. Going to give it another month, because ethix are branded with the July crate, but this is pretty terrible.

Keep in mind that you'll get free replacement props for those F4 props I would think. Gemfan is supposed to replace them for you for free. But... uh... yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah... that's a disappointing haul for sure.
Was the discount anything that helps make up for the contents?
Yeah, I was kinda disappointed too this time, and with the same experience - last month's box was very good, so I stayed, and oh well. The lights are kinda cool, but they don't fit the QAV-S arms as they're too big, so I can't use them with the frame I got from them... I would have loved to! lol I think that Gemfan will send you three sets for free if you message support. I did, still have to hear back from them - we'll see
im not sure how that works. i'll have to research it. I know if you buy the props that applies, but if you got them in an fpv crate, does that still apply?
@@aphyxfpv2883 yeah, in theory you should contact the store support and they should give you free pairs, I don't know about getFPV... They still haven't answered, let's see tomorrow

@@jtcustomknives they answered me to, here's the full email: "We've been told that our props are fine, and I purposely flew my quad full blast into a tree yesterday and wasn't able to break any. However, we're working with Gemfan to verify again that ours are ok and if they need to be replaced we will get them from Gemfan and send them out in a future box in addition to the props we would normally send. The problem with them isn't with the flying, it's with the crashing. We'll let everyone know by way of newsletter if any action needs to be/will be taken but we're on it! Have a great day!" So basically they said that Gemfan told them they were fine, but they'll ask again and eventually ship double the props in the next crate lol
An F4??? Wow this might be the worse box I will be getting from them. I have been a sub for about a year now and I am seeing a trend with them.
