@Shemcat Ahhhh, ever since I watched this video I've attempted one run and managed to complete the game in under 58 minutes! It was pretty fun I won't lie but damn it was stressful.

they should have gone back and retroactively added this combat to XC2 base game especially the orb system. would have been way better.

@@gavarkhai3139 the orb master skill in some common blades can get you tornas orb system, but of course that does rely on some common blade RNG

@@raysmashbrawl176 QS helps a lot. We get QS3 in ch1 from the collectopaedia, and then can buy infantry boots with quick step already on them, finally crafting 2 QS1 gems in ch4 and since the effect is capped at 25% we have our max walking speed for the rest of the run

@@dankness420 that glitch is possible in version 1.0 -> version 1.1, but the latest version is 1.1.2 which basically everyone plays on (and is the most interesting category), this trick is still done in the pre patch categories however. This run is also on Casual mode so we don't need to grind or anything

I honestly can’t stomach the first xenoblade game casually without using the tephra cave glitch to get ~50 levels right near the start of the game, shame it was ultimately patched out of definitive edition, but I at least had time to get 1 save to do it before it was patched and I don’t mind ng+ without the glitch

I thought the original method with you getting pushed by a little flying dude was patched, but then people just found another one jumping from a weird place to get into a different portion of the same late-game area. Jumping off vines or something?

For early level 50, Skeeter method was patched out in DE by (tldr) changing jumping physics and accuracy. Vine clipping was patched in version 1.1.2, but used to let you get to late tephra locations from near arachno queen (plus to a few other places like some of the high entia emblem locations). Even without though there's a decent amount of glitches well known in at least the speedrunning community on current patch, with them being of varying degrees of useful to novel at best.

@@danknados he would be back, but without any arts, and the game would be in such a glitched state that when you try to put on arts, it pulls from data and occasionally an art does come up, but it might not be something shulk normally learns, like idk sword drive or heal bullet, or an art the ponspectors from Future Connected.

@@Orpheolus so you could give shulk a bunch of random arts by rerolling the NG+ each time you get an art you don't want?

@@danknados The rerolling is done in the arts menu. Nobody likes setting up glitched ng+ because it can take dozens, if not over a hundred hours of constant rolling to get the art you want.

Sorry it's taken me until now to respond I completely missed this comment! Jump storage is a very difficult piece of tech, and the first part of it is storing the jump where you press B to jump and then almost immediately swap characters with either L or R. Generally, you'll want to go through most of the characters in your roster. Then after cycling back to someone to start the jump from (generally a double jump character), you swap with the opposite button you used when going around (so R or L again) and then pause to help with the timing and reduce the lag, and then press B/A to leave the pause menu and as soon as you have control again, swap and pause again. It is very difficult but by doing it like this and practicing a lot you'll eventually start to see some height gained.
