Rule check. Ork boss is suppressed, he lost is zone of control. One of the marines token on destroyed rhino was able to disembark close to the Boss. I'm Correct? Thanks for your work, miss the tutorials for close combat...
Yes, that is correct. Suppressed units do not have a zoc.

You didn't miss it, it is sitting about a third completed on my computer and I haven't looked at it for a while, sorry. It may show up at some point, but no promises.

Just love Heroes of Black Reach playing with my son, your videos are great for beginners. Hoop your expansion campain is ready. Your tutorials were essesntial for me to start playing.

Longtime player of the GW miniatures rules here (2nd thru 6th edition), and incredibly weird to me to see the lascannon heavy weapon team fire from INSIDE the moving Rhino on turn 1. That's impossible in any version of the GW game I've ever played.

Fire on the move + overwatch case: the hit space marines troops are flipped upside down only AFTER they end their movement, not during. Re-check the rulebook!!! 😉
You misinterpreted the duo READY and ALWAYS READY cards: by the rules of Heroes System games, once you pick up a wooden token previously set upon one of your units, which could or could not have already been killed or have / haven't acted yet... Such wooden order goes into your pool of orders but you cannot re-use it at all for this turn!!! And also, often, the rules or events and cards that make you or force you to discard order tokens, also state that you have to take them off the units but without revealing them to the opponents and putting them into your pool of the orde tokens themselves !!! Go re-read the Compendium or the Rulebook. I am sure (almost 100%) that I am right; but if you find I am wrong into the official Devil Pig Forums about the rules, tell it to me... I will gladly admit the corrected version and accept it, changing my mind about it too. This pair of cards has a damn bad text written upon them, too open to misinterpretations, in my opinion. But I had the same doubts and misinterpreted badly as you do, these cards along with some other, then I asked for help and for having the correct interpretation of them... And DPG games company team answered me the way to use such cards I told you above and profusely.. I hope it helps you to improve the gaming experience / knowledge about it, my suggestions... Nothing personal. Just a mere constructive critic.

i dont think a rhino can "come crashing through a building". vehicles can't enter buildings at all from my understanding. did you find some different rules on that?
This is such a great initiative. You convinced me into buying everything of Heroes of Black Reach and learning my son the rules. After playing the scenarios with the game, we will be progressing into the aftermath campaign ! Thanks a million.
Great stuff! Love the videos. Hate to pick on you, I just wanted to mention on the last round that, it being the orks initiative, they went and then destroyed the unit with the order#1 for ultramarines, therefore, the orks should have went again because they had initiative for order#2, not ultramarines. I'm actually impressed that you remembered to give the orks 2 turns in a row after the ultramarines played the card to go first the round before. I have a hard time remembering to do that.
Hi GT! Big fan of your work, especially your very useful generator! I just wonder, were you supposed to be able to shoot with the laser canon from inside the rhino, since its a heavy weapon without the shoot in movement ability? Cheers from France

Hey bro, thanks for the amazing videos. Just a quick question regarding overwatch/opportunity fire. This is more for HoN, but say we have a situation where we have a sandbag (2 square) terrain with 2 infantry unit in it, giving them the overwatch/OP fire ability. An enemy unit moves in clear LoS of both the units in the sandbag. Does this mean they both can take a shot each at the enemy at the same time (one after the other) on that same movement made by the enemy. Or can only 1 unit OP fire at an enemy per 1 move they make? Meaning for both the units in the sandbags to OP fire and the enemy infantry that is moving, the enemy would need to move twice/ 2 squares. Personal it would make sense for both of them to take a pop at the enemy together as that would be more realistic, but at the same time I can see the later rule being used too. What are your thoughts bro? Thanks again my guy.
I would think if they both have opportunity fire, they can both fire when an enemy moves into a new square. Both would be interrupting the move.

Hey, a little late here xD on 8:00 you say you subtract 2 for each suppress marker on the librarian, but enfeeble costs 2 suppress markers, you rolled a 5 for the parrel of the warp and discounted only 2. Is it for each or is it for having a suppress marker you subtract 2?
You also have to add the Librarian's psychic level, which is 2 (so 2+5-2-2=3)

At page 9 of the rulebook: "Alternate firing action does not use the Special Abilities [...] printed on the Unit counter". Then a page 15 "Frightening shot" is under the "Firing special abilities", so I suppose it shouldn't be used when firing with the alternate fire action "Frightening shot" (13:34 in this video). But if so, why the rulebook should state that "Frightening shot" can't be used in combination with "Machine Gunner" special ability?
I guess it is so you cannot add a Suppressed Marker to multiple units. Since Machine Gunner can target multiple units then in theory you could give each one a Suppressed Marker if you could combine these abilities.
A questione: shouldn't the marines in the example at 5:00 get another -2 malus due to the kind of terrain in which the orcs are?
Yes, good spot. Looks like I missed that penalty in the earlier example as well.
Maybe I'm wrong. Is it possible that the -2 is applied only when the square is went across line of sight?
Terrain defenses are applied based on the square the defender is in, so I think you are right the first time, that it should have been added. LoS doesn't affect terrain defence bonuses.

hi noob here, can i do a Move and fire, then assault? with a marine?
Yes you can. You just have to declare which unit you are assaulting before you move, then you move and during that move you can fire on the move at the target you are assaulting (or another unit), then continue moving and get into assault with the unit you declared.
I played this mission twice and I really think this particular mission is poorly designed and balanced. It's almost impossible for an Ultramarine army of that size to drive into the warboss zone and eliminate him reliably. And by relilably I mean: be almost sure to not concede the campaign victory to the orks. If a scenario brings a sudden campaign victory for the winning faction then it should be VERY difficult of that faction to win that scenario, not the other way around (like this mission actually is).
I agree it is a difficult mission for the Ultramarines and that is compounded by having the campaign end if they lose. I carried on and ignored that rule because it seemed a bit pointless to stop after 6 missions and not reach the campaign finale. Looks like you have come to the same conclusion :)
@@geetee9940 I already proceeded this way :D BTW, I'm OK with unbalanced missions when playing the narrative (and a campaign is narrative.first, IMO). Removing the sudden victory prize would be enough to fix things!

Hi, thanks for sharing these great videos! Question: is there a mistake when you overwatch against the rhino? Rules say that the victim of overwatch always continues its movement even when hit. Page 16. Still learning the game, sorry if I'm mistaken.

Thank you for sharing! I'm interested in this game, it seems way more dynamic and tactical than the usual 40k miniature game: more interesting things happening, tactical manouvres, unexpected events. My only concern is that I don't want it to be a game about "big melee blobs" in the end of the missions....
