Testing Autoterm power cable for connectivity or a short

Customer was blowing a fuse every-time he connected the heater. Yet there was/is no issue with the heater - we suspect damage to the main power cable. This is to show how to easily test the power cable

Froli round ramps in tandem Caravan Caravan Refrigeration Services

Showing caravan using round froli levelling Ramos in use. Safe and easier to roll into and off. Caravan Refrigeration Services. They are a great ramp - they are easier to pull up on yo as they roll and use their own leverage to raise the van. Also if you roll to far they follow the wheel around. Also when they are under the Tyre the van has less tendency to roll back down the ramp.

Thank you for this!
glad it helped - it has certainly saved a few phone calls
I'm literally under my van right now doing this. You are a hero.
Thanks Mike ❤
Hi. Can I set the ventillation speed during heating mode or its only automatic?
Do you happen to know the mL rating for the Autoterm 2D pump, "16,22??"
Hi Mike, good video thanks. Could you advise why my PU27 screen doesn't light up but the arrows do ? I've no idea what settings to select because of a dark screen- shooting blind .....
Hey man, thanks for the video! Do you know the name of this type of connector?
Thanks for the info
How can I remove the pins?
the best thing to do is not try to remove the pins, (unless you already have the tool and know how) but to cut the cable and then rejoin when finished.
Now does that attach to the connection on the pump or the other supplied piece??
Would have been helpful if you'd shown how you REMOVE the pins also!
the official way is with a special tool - very difficult to do without a tool
@@Benjalotus I got mine sorted with a hairpin. Just used it like tweezers after cutting a few mm off the ends that have some form of plastic dip to avoid poking oneself.
Good explanation. I'm currently fitting a Flow 5D into my latest camper build. Previous build had a Webasto thermotop, so hoping the Autoterm is as good or better. Mike, ex Puriri St, right?! What's with the (sort of) aussie accent?! ;)
What is the power value what should it be set to ? I see you had it to 5
That is the same as the T set point, but for when you have the heating set to “By power”. If you have it set to “By T panel” as shown in the video, the power setting is ignored/not used.
I do not have a heater yet and am looking at a Planar or Eberspacher D2L. I like the Eberspacher Easystart Pro controller, but have heard a new Planar one is coming out. Do you know anything about that?
Can anyone explain the power value setting ?
I put the manual in a burning bin and set fire to it to keep me warm its f@@@@ing useless
I think this controller sucks. Very little ability to set things up the way most programable thermostats work. The manual is very poorly written and does a very poor job explaining how it works.
if I heard you right you said the trigger point set was the temp. you wanted the heater to start at. Isn't the trigger set point where the heater will stop at?
Thats what I was looking for. All the other videos did not explain the temperature settings clearly. I could not figure out why the heater would not start although I had made all the settings. ahhhh.....I have to press the square button at the end in order to activate this mode! sometimes the small things....
Brilliant, thanks so much. That's exactly what I wanted to know
do you have videos for the other setting, i have just had this heater fitter, i dont understand the manual
Really good good idea to run it hot at least once a week for 20 minutes burns the diesel soot away . Hearing some horror stories about the cheap diesel ones
The company that put ours into the car said 30 minutes once per month on max heat should be enough.
Hi, I'm struggling to find the right information for my controller, maybe you could help us. Last night we set the T by panel at 7C (it was -4C outside), with power setting at 7. It seems the planar worked all night and this morning we woke up and it was 15C inside the van. How is this thing supposed to work? I thought when it reached 7C the unit would shut off. Am I missing something? Thank you very much!
Did you solve this problem? I have the same issue with PU-27. I set it to 20 Celsius for example, and it works constantly, today it was 40 inside my van. I have no idea why.
@@madhatter4247 Yes I think I did. I have contacted the company and searched every manuals I could find on the internet and nowhere I could find this very simple information: For the thermostat feature to work (stop a desired temperature), you need to have the option "Ventilation" ticked on. The way the unit works is that the fan will continue but the heater will stop at desired Temp. Once the sensor reads 5C below the set Temp, the heater will kick back on. The result is the fan runs continuously when the unit is on. I don't know why they made it that way, mostly I don't know why they don't tell you that information anywhere! Let me know if that works for you, or if it was just a coincidence for me. Cheers
@@renaud7101 You are the second source suggesting that solution, so I think it is not a matter of coincidence that it worked for you. I will check it tomorrow and will let you know.
@@renaud7101 Well, it works for me either. However, I think that the panel temperature sensor is not very accurate. I set it for 21 and it was definitely colder that that inside. Moreover, the ventilation working in stand by mode was causing some kind of low pitch vibrations which I did not like :D. For me the power value setting seems most reasonable.
@@madhatter4247 Thanks for the update. Did you notice that you could read (and set) the temperature at the panel or the heating unit? That might be why you get weird readings. Also, you could buy another probe and put it wherever suits you best. For us, we didn't need one and the temperature at the panel seems to be working well. But I'm with you, I don't know why they programmed it with the fan always on... cheers!
Thanks for that, just the info I was looking for. I wasn't sure if the polarity mattered, nothing in the manual that I could find.
...PERFECT....!!!!!
