Hello! Why is my bulk spesific gravity is bigger than max specific gravity? 😢
What method are you using calculating your maximum spec gravity? Ensure you're doing it properly, as it is quite sensitive test to do.

What is the proctor Value? Is The Maximum dry density?
Before you can get a useful read out of values using this piece of equipment, you'll need to have a proctor sample taken of the material you're testing beforehand. For example, if a road is removed to replace utilities and the native dirt exposed underneath is going to be reused to backfill said utilities, you'll want to have a lab take a proctor sample. They'll send someone out to grab some of that dirt and run their tests. This channel has a video on that as well. Using the values they generate based off the sample dirt, they'll be able to get a read on the backfill material after it's compacted (e.g. pretty much when the utility work is done). This is my understanding and experience with this, at least.

I appreciate the videos a lot but there was no planeness check using a 0.002in. feeler. This is my main concern and where i feel i needed a walkthrough.
Planeness check is not required on the cylinder if you are capping with unbonded retainers. Note that the retainers do need to be periodically checked to meet the 0.002" planeness but not on every test. Capping with sulfur/gypsum/neat cement has a different procedure which you can see in our video for that test method. Look up our ASTM C617 video and you can see how we check the capped ends with the feeler gauge for that test.
As a field tester who actually does this the procedure is really over fussy and nit-picky. Usually you have literally 30 seconds to jump in and test the soil and jump out. I've never in my entire life seen any of us carefully sprinkling little bits of native sand in any little cracks. If you take your tests like this in a construction setting you'll be the most hated person on the job site.

You might want to read the standard... the soil pat was not correct. This soil pat was concave. The standard states it should be a horizontal plane.
Agree. Now if only I could actually achieve that horizontal plane in practice!!

My gauge has that problem too. I believe the Troxlers can switch modes, there should be a mode button and switch it to 'manual'. When you place the rod in the probe hole it should now ask you for the depth and you can input it manually.
