There is maybe one equation we go over to know how it’s used but it’s basic and not hard

I work in a hospital currently. I only work 2 days a week as a full time employee. My hospital also has a outpatient facility connected to it so I also work over there sometimes to help out . 🤍

@@_CrystalGayle yes I enjoy my shift . Even though I work every Saturday and Sunday I have my Monday- Friday off and I use that time for other things or I pick up extra hours . It’s a peaceful shift for me.

Hey ! I have been a cardiovascular sonographer for 2 years now . I do enjoy it . I think it’s a good career . The pay is good, I started out at $31 per hour but I had job offers starting way higher like 35+. I make more money now though. When I first started scanning since I wasn’t use to the volume of patients they had me scanning I had a sore hand but I started stretching and working out and I don’t have that pain anymore . However I always try to make sure I have good ergonomics so I don’t hurt myself. I have met techs who have been in the field for 20years and have never had any injuries and I have met others who have had injuries. So it is a possibility that we could have a injury and something we deal with as a sonographers. Overall I’m happy with my career so far and plan to do travel ultrasound in the near future. @@jorgediaz70 definitely. We have a lot of guy ultrasound technologists . I am in South Carolina .

@@zahmiyab2809 it depends on your interests . I would shadow each field to get a better idea. I personally feel like nursing is more broad with the different fields you can go into. For me I don’t plan on doing sonography long term I have goals to possibly further my education. I hope that helps !

@@Mamiikaii whatever program you decide to apply to they will let you know what prerequisite classes and what requirements you need to meet to be able to apply.

@@transformingtrenyti7412 ultrasound technologist are sonographers. We are the same however there are different specialty’s within the field like ob/gyn , general, vascular, cardiac, pediatric cardiac technologist. So many !

Cardiac gets paid more I believe and you get paid more for peds in cardiovascular.

@@carm0n1b99 yes the scans can be done standing. They prefer you not to stand all the time because sitting is apart of practicing good ergonomics. Also are you currently learning ultrasound physics in your class now? It is just teaching you what all the button, knobs and how the machine works . Once you pass the physics test you don’t have to keep a in depth memory of what all was learned other than the general buttons on the machine. I currently don’t feel stressed in this career. I work 2 days a week and they pay me full time for it so i have a lot of time off . If it is just the schooling that is making you turned off… it gets better . If you just don’t like ultrasound then maybe consider your options so you are happy.

A technologist has a degree and specializes in a field. For example I specialize in the cardiovascular system. So I had very in-depth training (4years) on the cardiovascular system and had to be registered to practice. A technician is more like an entry level position where it is not required to be licensed.
