I never disliked daikon. He definitely struck me as a little troublemaker kitty. I think this is because I love cats and mostly found him funny. In the second half, I just felt so sorry for him. He doesn’t have a choice in his fate as a keystone. The way he was running around causing chaos made me think he just wants to be free and live how he wants but because of responsibilities, he can’t do that. It’s just sad and unfair.

I just love how the movie show the logic behind Daijin, and gives us the guilt that we shouldn't hate him after all. He's just trying to help Suzume and Souta to navigate the next opening of the gate. I love the way the directors gives us the word "REALIZATION" after all Daijin did. It breaks my heart so bad, specially when you are a fur parent. 💔

I wish Souta and Dajin both got Suzume in the end! It was so unfair that only one could, Dajin was never able to be loved as he had to maintain the doors and everything, he finally experienced love from suzume and wanted that. All he wanted was to experience love like a cat would with their owners. 😭

One thing i dont get about this movie is that yes Daijin story is sad.. but why the hell he would turn Souta of all people in the next token? Who will close the doors? Souta was already going after doors even before Suzume freed Daijin right? And he had to study ancient scrolls from his past family members to understand how it works. Its not anyone that can become a guardian. I dont know it kinda feels like he really did want to kill everyone while having some side fun with Suzume.

The only thing i can think off everytine i see this scene is how daijin felt when she said that she doesnt love her or how scared she was when she got lifted up into the air as if suzume was about to throw him

When he’s just in such distress and asks ‘don’t you love me?’ It breaks my heart. He deserved so much love and recieved such mean treatment

I watched it, Daijin went from an annoying pest, to the poor baby and back to the keystone that felt loved. I hadn't cried like that since I had to put my cat to sleep.
