Hello! I'm looking to start a systema club in my area. Any advice on how to do so. There is only one school on the opposite side of our state. How could we start?
Ohh the memories of Training at Mt. Pleasant.

Hey Mr. Dan, shoot I would have responded years ago if I watched this before. There are still a few of us in Charleston. We have had some gaps in training, but we're still here.

God Sonny is sooo right about the fitness industry, it's all about the LOOK. Totally one dimensional, that's why i don't lift weights anymore, at least consistently. SONNY RULES!!
I loved this video . Thanks so much for sharing ;)
Thanks for the training tip. :)
Thanks for this video - i often get a lot of tension around 4 and 5 - can't wait to try this technique with the burst breathing
is it hurt?
+Amri A Speaking from experience... Yes. Yes it does.
Nicely made, I like it!
Bad ass russian!
Great video, thanks for putting it up.
This is crazy, the one thing that I always try to remember when I do push ups is NOT to breathe like that and keep it cool and harmonic. A few push ups like that ok, but try to pump it like that for a few minutes and you will pass out, you will simply pump out all the oxygen from your brain. I almost did that a couple of times, believe me it's not funny:)
greetings from Wellington New Zealand
brilliant. i feel like bruce lee
Nice work folks greetings from New Zealand
awesome video, good explanation.
Your welcome...
The breathing is in through your nose and out through your mouth...The more challenging it gets the faster you breathe...
@nukesmithUSN - Yeah, too bad...It was a great seminar...We video taped everything and getting it all pretty so you can take a look at it later this year...
@shniddles The more difficult or painful the exercise becomes the sharper and faster I breathe in through my nose and out my mouth...
Very nice, Bill! Sorry I missed the Boulder Seminar, I had some sort of plague --Ryan
can you talk about what you're doing with your breathing?
@renshiboom The principles are going to be the same. Breathe, move & the opportunities to defend yourself will appear. Most martial arts teach technique which goes away in a slightly different situation/scenario. Understanding movement, breathing & your own fear will go a long way no matter what the situation/scenario is. Systema is a martial art that must be felt in order to understand because it is working with a different aspect of your nervous system that isn't available on video
beautiful flowing action thanks for sharing l
Obvious really but I'd never thought of doing this in an exercise - despite doing it in playing music.
Ok...but what happens when the opponent tries to smother you and then strike, as would a wrestler or someone who is bigger and wants to utilize their weight as an advantage? I understand that this is in the context of one aspect of defense, please don't think I'm criticizing. I'm only asking for further clarification of a different aspect.
Nice tip, thanks Bill, will be using this in class!
