    the video is incorrect in Step 2 (~2:00) if you also want to have the internet after connecting to that remote L2TP vpn server. When creating users, the local IP address should NOT be your router, it's the IP of the virtual VPN adapter, it should be something in the same subnet with your router, ie if your router is 10.10.10.1 the local IP can be 10.10.10.225. Additionally, DNS should be 8.8.8.8. Following these settings you will get the working vpn AND internet connection.

      If your other router is upstream "network wise" is exposed to the Internet with a public IP, you could have them both, but I would prefer to have the ER managing your coms. If the connection is downstream and want to have your Archer as an additional AP you can do that too.

    • @TechnologyMoments

      I would get a WiFi 6E card (amzn.to/3YhaHk2 ) as it would give you 1.5 Gbps with no problem (keep in mind you have to have a wifi6E AP or Router too, ) as they both feature 6GHz band. I would still not recomment any WiFi 7 card as we ahve only had experience with a Few that have not passed our tests. However if you find a reliable WiFi7 card recommended for your laptop, it would even get you to 2.1 Gbps.

    Just to clarify, in 2:33 it sounds like you stepped down 24V (AC I assume) to 3.3V DC. Yet, the specifications of the HLK-PM03 converter says input should be 100-240VAC. Was your existing wiring providing 24VAC? It worked with AC voltages less than 100VAC? I really want to know if this converter actually works for AC voltages lower than 100VAC. The wires on my current old doorbell supply roughly 10VAC. Will this converter still work?

    • @TechnologyMoments
      @TechnologyMoments 6 дней назад

      Actually the 3.3 volt adapter is from 110V. But let me tell you there is abetter option now which is this one: amzn.to/3XRduBi Hope it helps. As of adapters for 24 volts I have used both AC and DC. Weird to note DC has worked better. But that has been an experiment that we cannot garantee to always work.

    Hi, Great tutorial! I have several PLCs and embedded boards in my office, and I would like to connect these PLCs to a local IP through a router with a VPN client. This router will then connect to my main router, which has internet access. I have a team of 5 engineers who work remotely, and I plan to set up a VPN server on the cloud, where I can create accounts for each of them. They will install VPN client software on their PCs to securely access the PLCs and other devices in my office from home. I would appreciate any guidance you can provide on setting this up. I am not allowed to make any changes to the Main router in the office which is connected to the internet but allowed to do whatever is necessary on the Router with the VPN client which is behind the main router.

    How do we add a new AP to the existing setup? The IT guy left the company, and we want to add one more AP. He mentioned it's a mesh network, and it should automatically pick up the configuration from the master AP, but that's not happening. When I plug it into the switch, it's not adopting the configuration and is still on its default open SSID TPLINK OMADA AX3000

    • @TechnologyMoments

      You have to have access to the network controller. Would be a great security flaw to just automatically adopt any new AP to the network. I would recommend you reset the units and adopt them in a new network controller that you are trained to at least manage in case your IT guy is not available at any given moment.

I set for continuous recording and turned of motion detection altogether - My question is: How do I set the SD card (or camera) to record one long clip rather than hundreds of 10 second interval clips? And port-forward towards IP:Port of the server in the router. This works great, however, my main concern is security. Hello There is still one feature with MLO that none have been able to show to me yet. And that is what speed you get when downloading and uploading simultaneously. These question would be nice to get benchmark on: 1.what would the speed be when copying a file between two wireless computers connected to same wireless network when using wifi 5/6/6(ofdma)/7/7(ofdma)/7(MLO). (this would mean that router have to transmit and receive simultaneously to get best efficiency on the data transfer, exactly what MLO is meant to solve) 2. What would the speed be between two computers where one is wireless and the other is connected with cable and the wireless computer simultaneously downloads and uploads files from/to the cable connected computer using wifi 5/6/6(ofdma)/7/7(ofdma)/7(MLO) on the wireless computer. (this would mean that router and wifi connected computer have to transmit and receive simultaneously to get best efficiency on the data transfer, exactly what MLO is meant to solve) 3. The extreme case I also would like to see is how well wifi 7 MLO handles when 2 wireless computers connected to the same MLO network tries to simultaneously upload and download files to each other. Both computers have to send and receive at the same time. Would enabling 2.4 Ghz wifi in this case improve output instead of only using 5Ghz and 6Ghz?

      @@TechnologyMoments Thanks! I am looking forward to that video! :) Is it also possible for you to tell what kind of MLO that router and wireless card in computer is using. MLO-STR on both router and computer side would be the most intresting to use with those kind of tests . Ofc comparing performance with the other types of MLO is also intresting. Best performance is expected when using STR on all sides.

    hi,can you help what is the best wifi card replacement for my HP ENVY X360 15EU?

      No doubt this will do the job. WiFi 6E Wireless Card Intel AX210 NGW amzn.to/3YhaHk2 , only take into account that the ideal AP to connect to has to also have 6 GHz band active (wifi 6E) to get the most out of your WIFi 6 connection which is about 1 Gbps real life.

    I have a TWG 431BR and I'm just trying to get the other wan ports working for other devices like ps5. Already called support and found out I had to reset the modem to get new numbers auto assigned for the ip, and I had plugged into console by accident instead of wan2, so I'm pretty noob on this networking. The manual has print too small to read so I had to use glasses and a magnifier to read it! After completing every step, I only have internet on the pc but not other plugs and nothing tells me what to do now.

    I wanted to create client-server setup, using Android OpenVPN for testing, but it happened that I could get IP address for my client, but it couldn't get internet access. However, I've double checked my VPN settings, the local network I configure is .1 (which is my router address) not .0. Any advice? Thanks

      This process of having internet access at client's end is more dependent on the routers' firmware. If you update the firmware, make sure the option full mode is checked so you can have internet access in the client computer.

    Can you help me understand one thing please? If I use third party VPN like NordVPN my network traffic passes through their VPN server (which has a different country's public IP) right? So if I setup the same VPN server but it's self hosted at home which IP does the traffic pass through? Is it the same public Ip address I was assigned by my ISP? Or will I need another public IP for setting up my VPN? Thanks. Very precise and informational video. Subscribed.

      @TechnologyMoments Месяц назад

      These VPNs WireGuard, IPsec, OpenVPN, do not use any other service to redirect traffic. Others may use proxies where they handle sort of like data redirection to make you look that you are someplace else. For these specific cases you will need ideally to have a fixed IP at the "server" location.

      @@TechnologyMoments So my public IP and in turn my location is still the one that was assigned to me by my ISP for a self hosted VPN server? So what is the point of setting up a VPN server except for encrypting the traffic? I'm still geo-restricted from accessing content banned in my location right?

    Hey man, thanks for creating this video, question, is there a restriction on what version the UniFi controller needs to have, I heard that if it’s too new it will refuse to adopt End of life devices

    I dont understand why does the second switch need to be physically connnected to the first one. Shouldnt the connection between the two be wireless?

    • @TechnologyMoments
      @TechnologyMoments Месяц назад

      Hi, please remember that this is not a typical scenario. This one is a 3 way switch or wiring it as 9/24. This means a light that in its analog configuration can be commanded from two or more switches.

      Blink does not offer the complete solution for this model. You can get these adapters which are also a great option. We have tested it with smarlocks and cameras and has worked great in case you're interested. amzn.to/4g1I4Ao Make sure before you order they are the size (AA or AAA) you want
