    Canoe was not Salmon Arm about 10 years ago( 2013,14,15).I pulled off the highway back in 2014 and again in 2015,I used the parking lot of the generator station. It was a small villette,known as Canoe bc to the best of my knowledge! Not Salmon Arm, but I'm not a local. So some jerk was driving his truck through and doing drifts in the snow,almost hit my truck! On a previous stop in warmer weather,where I had parked closer to tge generator station, I noticed tire marks on the curb like someone had hit it several times,yep,he came back that winter,didn't care if he hit my truck,soo I moved. He came so close,I heard the wind go :whoosh! So,time to leave,so I put my head lights on,to let this Ahole know I was in my truck,he didn't come so close again,and after that I left. Nothing better to do in shitsville on a Saturday night, but go banging your beater around town! But hey,don't hit my truck! There was a bunch if local teens doing stunts with their little cars,but they stayed near the tunnel! That tunnel wasn't so prettied up yrs ago with flower and a fence for a background effect,just a drab grey ditch culvert for a train over pass! It's a wonder it doesn't collapse! From the trains weight! There's a rowdy bunch of teens that saw me on the beach the previous fall,said" who's that,we'll kick the shit out if him!" So I left! Slept one night in Canoes old abandoned firehall! Adjusted my rear brake shoes,nobody bothered me there! I wondered where the rd went to,and when I stayed in Salmon Arm, I took a drive around,and it comes out in Canoe,bc. 10 years ago, the west bound tc1 off ramp to Canoe was just a gravel intersection, and had a sign for Canoe bc I think.theres a fuel or station ir something else that wasn't there 10 yrs ago. Must have been amalgamated into Salmon Arm! Tge Canoe Beach tunnel was drab place with no flowers at tge entrance, and to have it as a train support bridge,is questionable at best! Where's the concrete bridge?

    • @darrensadventures
      @darrensadventures 24 дня назад

      thanks for the question, my most important feature was the power. I am not a kid so I wanted to make sure I could go up some hills not hills. You can get duel motor or single motor. You can also get between 500 watt motors and 2,000 watt plus motors if you have lots of money. I went for a single motor with 1,000 watts and it gets me up most hills BUT not steep hills but it also was not too expensive. Maybe take one for a test drive or rent one with the wattage you think you can afford before you buy to see if it is ok for you.

    I used to go up regularly, back in early 2000s and had no problem reserving an oceanside spot as long as i stayed up all night to pounce on the website when it opened for reservations. Now the whole campsite books out for the season in about 7 to 8 minutes, if you are lucky enough to get a low (<500) randomly chosen number in the queue.

    • @darrensadventures
      @darrensadventures 2 месяца назад

      I agree, its too bad that the Federal campsite system books for the entire season on opening day. The BC system has a rolling booking system where you can only book 3 months out. That way, if you get up at 5am and don't get a campsite you can try again the next day ). Thanks for watching.

      We booked from the Hotel (Atlantis) we did a private tour as opposed to the main tours that are larger boats with lots of people. It was more $ but this was the most exciting thing we had planned for the vacation so we spent a bit more. With a small boat we could ask our captain to modify the trip. We did a 1/2 day with 8 of us so the per person cost wasn't that bad. We went to one of the few pig islands and got there before anybody else as we left early and had the entire island to ourselves for 30 minutes. After time with the pigs we snorkelled, then we did a tour of the fancy houses on the coast then we were taken back to under the bridge beside the resort. have a great time. Maybe do some research on which pig island you go to. have fun.
