The reason this strategy is faster than the old one is that in this strategy, the first boomerang hits the target above the starting platform to the right. Consequently, the second boomerang can be thrown more horizontally and thus hit the last target slightly earlier.
The bomb is sent in a random direction after being hit by the arrow, which makes it a little bit more difficult to optimize (especially in conjunction with a pretty unstable emulator) so there might be reason to believe that 3.45 is possible with this strategy.

Trying out a newer version of Dolphin with a less desyncy playback. The audio (!) might sound off in the start, but that's just the result of sound from the character selection screen and no loading time; I was going to include a very rapid character selection and entry of name but it turned out my computer couldn't run those parts at full speed, so the audio would sound weird. Yay, Falco :) I couldn't find any way to complete Young Link's target test for those who wonder why his level wasn't included. While some (probably most) of the strategies used aren't really optimal, the runs per se are generally well optimized.. in a sense. The music in the video, Meteorave, was remixed by bLiNd and is available for download at OCRemix.org.

This'd be TrevorsaurusRex's strategy, TASed at last. It's slightly slower than the current WR strategy, but with a modification or two I think it could end up being the fastest. I couldn't get any sound in this video, and I know not why :/.

Uploaded by requestish. The start of these runs were optimized slightly better than the start of my old Samus run, but I'm still positive it could be done faster! I dare say the second strategy is faster than the first one; I optimized it a little less and just so happened to get the very same time as in the first run.

Thanks to sockdude for coming up with the ending and kind of speeding up another part a little. The ABA ending is one frame faster in this run and the part after t7 was improved by another frame.

Breaking the last target with an ANA, an ADA or an AUA yields the very same result as breaking it with an Up-B in this run. With a slightly better top part, however, an ADA should be one frame faster.

I think this Target Test is one of the harder to optimize, which is the reason this run might not be very flawless. Well optimized or not, I did spend quite some time at it!

An edge cancelled waveland and a normal jump seems to be exactly as fast as a waveland to the right followed by a dash jump before t5. Breaking t5 before landing in the hole is one frame slower, I think. The Quick Attack ending is 5 frames faster than the Spark ending in this run, but I think the Quick Attack could be aimed a little bit better, making it even faster!

The first flipper hit seems pretty nice! I got it pretty much right away, and after trying to get a better one for quite some time, I gave up. It might be possible to do it one frame faster, but not so much more. The flipper hit in the end should be very good too. Overall a very optimized run, I think.

You never hit the top right one, but it seems you bug one of the targets when you hit 2 targets in between the lava platforms. (i'm not good expressing some things in english :I)
its hard to see because of how fast they went but that target teleports and it was hit really shortly after appearing somewhere else

Definitely feels like “hacks.” Glaring flaws from trying to replicate it: -He only throws one pikmin to the right at the start, not explaining how he hit the other two northeast targets -He double jumps much higher than normal at the start -He easily slides through that gap at the start And of course, there’s no reliable way to manipulate what pikmin you get. So he can just give himself all those whites unlawfully.
