I'm a 79 year old woman watching you from the states. I can't tell you how much I admire what you are doing. I think it's completely amazing. But please keep in mind that your first job is the conversion, not the videos. I got started watching narrow-boat videos of the English canals, and two of my favorite vloggers film only with their phone cameras and microphones. Occasionally they will apologize for their set-ups, but they know that their audience is watching for the content, not the quality of their videos. That being said, I do think that the microphone is a good idea. But only you will know when it is time to upgrade if you ever do. The money might better be spent on the boat, which looks like it is going to be fantastic!

I think the main problem with the design is the helm. I'd look at redesigning it so that the helm 'space' is maybe the whole width of the boat. In this space you could redesign the front of the boat for better visibility perhaps, but you could make a seating area within this raised platform. Underneath this area if it is too small to stand, then why not relocate the dishwasher (unnecessary for me) , the washer /dryer and other kitchen cupboards. You might also portion part of this are for a breakfast bar from which you could work on a laptop perhaps? In such a small space, I would not have an en-suite bathroom. A study or workbench would be much more useful to me. It may be useful to hire an architect to see what they could make of the space?

I'm glad I found your videos. I had the same idea of using the Nissan Leaf technology in a solar boat setup last year when I started dreaming of converting a sailboat into a solar boat. I've returned to the subject a lately and have yet to see someone employ what I think would be an economic solution and it is this. In the UK, you can now pick up a Generation 1 Nissan Leaf car for around £3000-4000. For that kind of money, the 24kWh Li-ion battery would be partially depleted, probably only being able to charge to 50-60% of its original charge, giving a possible 10kWh. You'd also get the inverter and motor (80kW). You could add a cover to this boat or similar, and generate anything from 5kW to possibly 7kW depending on where you were in the world and the size of the canopy and array, and fit solar panels, like this catamaran did. ruclips.net/video/ZWiC4kVCGXI/видео.html This might produce 20-30kW on average daily. I have an 8kW array on my summerhouse roof that provides a lot of my electricity needs for my home and charges the Nissan Leaf. It's served by three 5kW solar inverters running in parallel. This year has seen the price of solar fall, and a 48V, 15kWh LiFePO4 battery from Gopel can be had for £2500. If two Nissan Leafs were purchased, then one motor could be carried as a spare and the batteries alternated between one always being charged and the other one always running the motor. The Gopel batteries could be used to charge the Nissan Leaf battery if the solar wasn't very productive that day. I've no idea how the weight of all this equipment would impact a steel boat like the following, or how the power to speed ratio would be impacted, but I'd love to try it with something like this: www.boatshed.com/bruce_roberts_36-boat-263444.html I think I'd put a mast up and have a minimal rigging like a junk rigging (although I'm no sailor) that this guy has just for redundancy: ruclips.net/video/OiRBcjr1auw/видео.html Are you going to use the original Nissan Leaf batteries? This would be a cheap way of getting the 350V necessary to run the motors. Any thoughts?

Finally an intelligent scientist and not a sales person show the real break down of it's design. Thank GOD! Build quality is not looking good but your trying to buy an energy free Yacht. Although it's not the best, it's a break through attempt to drive solar powered living. I'm respectfully all for burning as little diesel fuel as possible. Fuel Cell yachts in 2055 and Ships including all Cargo ships will be fuel cell ships. They produce power and heat make hot water or steam. And the hydrogen will all be from solar and winds and the planet grabs sunlight for all it's energy needs from mostly sunlight. Park your car in the sun and drive home from work for free. Charging stations? What charging stations? Dude they're all gone. Remember all tech that is dead! Hang out as long as you can and see it. S.Y. reminds me of the first Tesla roadster. Where did Tesla go as so does follow quietly the Silent Yachts Silence of success.

i have two suggestions. firstly have you seen those remote control consoles that people put around their necks ? a solar /electric boat could have one to compliment drivability. also have you considered rotating the below bedroom hatch doors 90 degrees so that they open off the main axis of the boat? the door might then look like a small yacht entrance hatch. a ships ladder would then be fine and give you lots of room. idk by now it’s probably already built.

It seems like an interesting solution with a lot of reliability and self-sufficiency. Asking a large boat to travel 25 knots, like some other GRP boats, seems like overkill. Having no need of fuel anywhere in the world is a big advantage. Redundancy seems like it could be a real problem; from redundant dingies and motors to generators, hydraulics, and air conditioning.
