Thank you. Great video and highly appreciated
Thanks for the content. Just a suggestion, use an In Private session or different Edge profile to switch between MS accounts.
You forgot to review renaming the "General User". :(
Under Configuration > Users > General Settings! Sorry about that 🙂
I don't figure it out how to use prorata invoices without an automatic update thanks to the subscriptions link. Here is my simple exemple I want to reproduce: My client is paying for 10 items a month. In the middle of this month, he agreed to add 1 more on the 15th. How can I add this prorated line to my recuring invoice from my Sales Order?
Great to see a short video for once!
Haha, we live to serve! Ironically, the talk was supposed to be 30 minutes long originally and they had some schedule changes. Robbie and Mendy were concerned about filling a whole 90 minutes, but everyone else knew that wasn't going to be a problem. :)
Thank you so much 🙏🙏
Is it possible to resize the image field for the magic dash using CSS?
I'm late to the party here, but is there anyway to set these up to email the Agent as well? I can't find a way to reference the agents email address and I'm not sure if I'm missing anything. Either way this video was very helpful, Thank you!
Hi, I do not have the option / a dropdown under Quantity for "choose quantity". I only have the option to adjust the quantity manually. Is there perhaps something I need to setup / enable somewhere? Thanks
Its a setting under Configuration > Billing > Recurring Invoices to allow automatical quantity calculation
You walk through setting up unmappned Ninja clients to land in the NinjaOne Top Level, but then you never revisit that thought to show how to resolve clients that land there. Do you delete the auto-imported client, then go back into mappings and map that client to the true Halo org?
Basically yes :)
Top-notch content! Thanks
The best video out there for HaloPSA implementation! Thank you for putting these together. A question for you. If we wanted to show covered users either by Contract (covered users) or by Line item, how do we list those? I was unable to locate the $VARIABLE to do so. Is there a setting or place to incorporate that? We want to show for example, Managed User line item and then list those users on the invoice for the customer. TIA!
There are many ways to do this, your BEST option is to do it with a report embedded into the PDF Template for the invoice (assuming you're sending out from Halo - which you should be.)
@@risingtidegroup Appreciate your response! Will look into embedded reports. We send from Halo/Benji direct
You never cease to amaze me Mendy! :)
Seem or cease? because one of those isn't very complimentary 😅😂
@@risingtidegroupcorrected! That's what I get for commenting late at night! lol
I know this is an older thread, but I'd love to know how you pulled that form out of Halo on your webpage. We're going through a new "branding" of sorts as well. Thanks!
Its just allowing anonymous ticket entry which then gives you the code to do it in Halo (once you save it)
I just wanted to take a moment to express my sincere thanks for all the time and effort you've put into creating this Halo video series. I've been following along with all your content, and it has made learning Halo so much easier and more enjoyable for me. Your work is greatly appreciated, and I really hope you’ll keep making more videos! Thanks again, and keep up the fantastic work!
For the Azure Agent Group Name for Import is there any ability to have wildcards?
I don't believe so!
Thank you very much for doing this - had a few issues - but kept watching and you fixed them! Cheers
Have the create embedding parameters been fixed recently? Mine looks little different (new halo environment, but has the same error when testing embeddings
nvm I found your latest video! Many thanks for your time - very useful.
@@zimbonz Thank you! Glad you found it, and always happy to have the extra activity on the channel so no worries about the comment spam 😂😂😂😂
@@risingtidegroup Hey mate, sorry I can't seem to find the updated vid, mind dropping a link?
Have you managed to get it auto triaging categories and priorities?
Yes, using custom runbooks to automatically set the category instead of just suggesting it. I wouldnt recommend just doing it blindly however. I feed it a list of categories it has to line up with
Can existing setups use halos Azure ai? Support didn't know anything about a halo supplied connection which tbh would be fine for us
When you sign up for a trial you get access, but if you change it you won't be able to change it back. If you've signed up anytime after AI was initially released you'll have the configuration, if you signed up before you won't. I mentioned it's not"official" yet, because they haven't yet added in the ability to select their connection unless you leave the settings alone. You MIGHT convince Support to get someone high enough who knows the information login to your instance and configure it, if you point out the Release Notes in 2.146 that talks about AI Improvements and mentions hosted customers get access.
@@risingtidegroup would you recommend saving some money and using their connection on a live system or will we be best doing our own? We use openai ATM, haven't polished it off yet so also happy to look into azure
Amazing thanks for posting this. Everything was broken in mine and the documentation was severely lacking to properly setup.
You're welcome!
Interesting. 100% agree with you on categorisation and using the resolution for analysis as a preference. Out of interest, do your clients ever ask for documentation? (Config detail rather than 'how to' or training notes)
Are you asking today's version of me doing implementations of systems for MSPs or historical me when I was at the MSP?
@@risingtidegroup - when typing, I was thinking of the latter. (But as you raised it, do any of the MSPs you work with ask for documentation?)
I had one and we talked through what was actually needed. You should document the process and policy but the state of configuration is not really helpful to document. In the end at the MSP we basically would have the same conversation, determine the reason behind its necessity and then we'd either charge labor to do it if they still need it or provide a solution to do it for us. For example when asked for network topology map we instead sold Domotz to them for ongoing monitoring and performance trackig of the network and the ability to automatically build the topology map.
Love you <3
We are a 4 person MSP who is about to close a deal to replace a 1 person outsourced IT vendor. The client realized having a single point of failure is not an acceptable risk even if “tools” were in place to add technical redundancy. In fact the biggest reason we focus on cloud is to shift even more management risk from us to Microsoft or other cloud vendors. Can you post the blog where you mentioned discussing MSP economics? Thanks

Great content and perspective as always!
Much appreciated! Thank you!
Very good vid, demoing Halo atm :) good to know the escape/f5 on 2fa prompt hehe
Don't use it too often ;)
Yea its extremely hard to see the statements. So posting them would be a huge help!
Thank you for the deep dive into the topic! What I still haven't sorted out, is the asset number thing. I think asset numbers should be an identifier that - in an ideal world - matches the clients inventory number. Any thoughts on this? Just filling it out with the ninjaOne's hostname doesn't seem to bring me closer to this objective... The tips regarding dedicated top level and dedicated client as control bucket are worth its weight in gold.
It's really up to you on how you want to use it, the key is what value you want to see as the title of the asset. In most cases this will be the hostname/computername of the computer (for assets that are computers), but you can make this whatever you want, including swapping out other Key Fields onto a different field such as the Name or even a brand new asset field that's used for tracking the customer inventory number.
Thanks for sharing these, Mendy. Looks like the process has a few extras to when we did our onboarding a year ago. Any advice on checking to make sure the connection is configured the best possible way for people with older setups in Halo?
Depends on which one you're talking about, Agent Sync and SSO is super easy to just stand up new app registrations and split them off. CSP needs to be re-done completely if you haven't redone it from before GDAP.
Did not catch how you turn on the Dial Button feature in the top ribbon for the Side pane dashboard?
Globally under Reporting General Settings you can set a default side pane dashboard, or per agent you can set it under their preferences!
What if I want it to add the analysis to the ticket itself as a note instead of making custom fields?
You can just have it do an API action to add action to the ticket.
Hey Mendy, Should we discard the previous walk-through ruclips.net/video/V66i3F_3iGo/видео.html in favour of this one?
It should be more or less the same content, this is more structured and covers CSP too
Hey, thanks for the good video! I found some parts enlightening - especially the differentiation between smtp and Graph for outgoing mails.... Seems like with MS Graph, we are quite limited in terms of outgoing mail (addresses). Did't find a Ressource where the mail topic is explained extensive and detailed. That said, this is the best I could find sorting the outgoing mail stuff out.
Glad it was helpful!
please can i rebuild my app from the console without redeploying?
Not really no
Amazing content !!! I finally understood how permissions work in Halo. I wish I had seen your video long time ago. Thank you Florian and Mendy for sharing this with the community.
Thank you!
Same here. Thank you so much Mendy and thank you Florian, for sharing this knwoledge. I loved the "Mine" Area. I've been looking for a while to achieve this "support" and "project" tickets in one single view. This solution is brilliant.
Thanks for the video. I had to chuckle a little when I pulled the clients[0].name and my first client happened to use ABC in their name, just like your dummy client.
😅
Thanks Mendy, really good video once again. Question - if your secret expires due to inactivity? (Ask me how I know!) I assume you need to disconnect the app in Halo, create a new secret and setup again in Halo - (reimport etc)?
It's not too big of a deal to do this but yes. It should be pretty quick to update the secret, and YES Microsoft does expire secrets that are not actively being used even before the expiration period.
Great video! Can you show how we would create a ticekt with an Azure Logic App?
Sorry, I don't think I'll be getting to that anytime soon, but if you're trying it and need help you can hit up the mspgeek halo channel and ask specific questions!
Cool
Great Video thanks for Sharing 👌
Thank you!
The people that pay for services without even the smallest understanding often cause the most issues with said services.
@risingtidegroup Is it possible to do this but show tickets assigned to the agent and have the status of Customer Replied?
Yeah for sure! It's just a report that you create and place in the dashboard. Although depending on how many tickets you have assigned it can get a little messy. The dashboard already includes a highlight of the ticket in the event the ticket has an unread update.
I really don't know why there aren't many comments on your video, but it was by far the best solution I found for my problem. I truly don't know how to thank you; thank you so much!
Love it, thank you! I get more than enough comments on the MSPGeek Community 🙂 I would also recommend looking at my other EasyPanel video and getting Dozzle setup.
Great video thank you . 👍
Thank you too!
This is fab and has really opened my eyes to what can be done with the AI in Halo. Loving the videos. We have followed the one above but get stuck at the outputs because our response comes back differently despite the same text as you: "Respond using JSON, using the keys 'Summarise' as a string, 'Priority' as an integer, 'Type' as a string, 'Tonality' as a string and 'Urgency' as a string." }," I think its a JSON format issue but it comes back like this: Summarise="```json { \"Summarise\": \"Setup laptop with new version.\", \"Priority\": 3, \"Type\": \"Request\", \"Tonality\": \"Curious\", \"Urgency\": \"Medium\" } ```" Did you come across this at all? Before I take it to Halo Support?
This is on my list to dig into as you're not the only person to report this. Not sure where it's coming from or why its different!
@@risingtidegroup Good to know Im not alone :) Ive got tickets with Halo and Microsoft as well now so will let you know if I work it out. I can see the issue is the ```json before the array but cannot find a way to strip it
Automation has to be considered as part of a wider strategy. There are plenty of places where automation would enormously improve efficiency, consistency and security but this has to be balanced against the time and resource that it takes to implement said automation. I think a lot of people get very hung up on the seven ITIL principles and forget that the seventh principle is 'Optimise and Automate'. Optimisation can mean a lot of different things and, whilst it often includes automation, doesn't always. Principle i) Focus on Value and ii) Start Where You Are help inform the opportunities you have for improvement. Automating for the sake of it and slavishly following principle vii) just tells me that you aren't thinking about the whole business (principle vi) Think and Work Holistically). With that said, I personally think that if you are having to make a choice between automation and making somebody redundant then your business strategy is flawed and you need to take another look. Automation can serve as a tool to build value and improve efficiency within your organisation and if you plan it carefully and iteratively then it doesn't even need to cost much in terms of time or resource. Making generalised statements about nuanced topics can be corrosive and I completely agree with your position.
the default traefik setup is very interesting for easypanel, or for a docker swarm evirment. is that possible to work out the configration as it originally setup, and clone a similar one as a docker compose yml, +traefik.tml+dynamic.yml?
Of all of the great Halo videos available, this one is going to be the most impactful for me on time savings. This is a very creative use of Custom Fields. I did not previously have a template method for my agreements and have been too busy to address it. My previous process took all of the joy out of renewing my commitment to my customers. It was tedious, to put it mildly. I spent the entire weekend re-designing my sales process around the methods in this video. I may have lost a weekend, but this is going to pay back that time exponentially when renewals and new client setups take place. Thanks to you and the rest of the community for sharing your talent and ideas with the rest of us!
Thank you!
