BTVS clip (2x02): Angel stalking Cordelia
Просмотров 4,6 тыс.7 лет назад
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Some Assembly Required (2x02) Late evening (or something of the sort). After cheerleading practice Cordelia is alone in the parking of the school. While walking to her car, she hears something. She calls out, wary. "Hello?" But no one answers and so she rans to the car. She nervously fumbles with the keys while talking again loudly. "Xander Harris, if this is some kind ...

    Anya and specifically Tara in later seasons became the core Scoobies. There were always outsiders and detached from the 'main group'. Willow and Xander were two of the worst human beings to exist by this point in the show. Tara added the heart and Anya gave the common sense that Willow and Xander were never capable of.

    Tara‘s question shook Buffy to the core because she is in love with Spike and isn’t ready to accept that about herself. He doesn’t have a soul. He shouldn’t be capable of making her feel this way but his taking care of Dawn, patrolling with the scoobies, and treating her with such compassion before they slept together. However, both started a relationship at the wrong time. She was depressed and Spike, as much as the love was true for him, was toxic. S7 does redeem their love and affirm it.

  • @damnitnanet122
    @damnitnanet122 6 месяцев назад

    She’s not ready to love him but she does at this point. She breaks down when she sees that her hesitation could be misconstrued as using him and she cares enough about him to want to stop but is conflicted about needing him, only feeling anything when with him. I always felt Buffy couldn’t accept or love herself first because she had to let go of a quiet and easy life she hoped for - having some semblance of a teen romance with Angel gave her high school feels and that’s more why she cherished the relationship, now resentful that that part of her life is over forever and she HAS to grow and become stronger for every new big bad. Spike loves and accepts her for her, all of her, especially the parts Buffy won’t accept about having to be a slayer and even when she goes into autopilot as one. Her issues make her keep EVERYONE at arms length so she can’t let herself start to truly love Spike until she realizes she can keep growing with him and he’ll support her no matter what.

    This Scene is so Fucking Heartbreaking. I do think Buffy grew to have feelings for Spike after being Resurrected and getting a chance to see the side of him that’s still human and she knows that Spike does Truly Love her but he still a Vampire without a soul. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Amber Benson both do Incredible Performances. Sarah Michelle Gellar showing Buffy Summers guilt for sleeping with a Spike a Soulless Vampire and Vampire that has already killed two Slayers already. Amber Benson showing that Tara Maclay is truly is The Best Member of The Scooby Gang and Deserved to be a part of The Main Cast of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Tara never Judged Buffy and tried the best of her abilities to confront Buffy during her Darkest Hour of need.

    I reay wish they had given the two of them more screen time. They have such a great relationship and Tara is the one person in the scoobies besides Anya who has no bias or preconceived notions about Buffy and will be honest. Imagine this how this talk would have gone over with Xander bahaha omg.

    When her family came to town and try to drag her away so she can cook and clean for them Buffy stuck up for even after putting darn in danger and Spike sticked up for in his own way but the point is as a buffy did that Tara didn't judge her especially the main reason Buffy and Spike are together it's because they brought her back from heaven

  • @pdoll96

    I see where Dawn gets it from in this season. Buffy goes after Spike to make herself feel something and basically abuses him. She knows he loves her and will do anything for her yet when he walks away, she goes after him because she needs a fix and then becomes the victim. Buffy thinks she killed Someone and has to turn herself in, is never home bc she has to work to take care of Dawn but Dawn makes it all about her and throws a tantrum. It’s quite nauseating. Oh, I love the show and one of the things I love is the authentic situations of the characters. It’s good that they evoke emotions even frustration.

      She didn't love him. At least not at this point in the series. The relationship Spike and Buffy had during season 6 was not about love. Plus, Buffy was too traumatized and overcome with deep depression and self-hatred to love him at that point.

      Yeah, slow burn and deep emotional connections aren't everybody's tea ..some people feel more convinced by instant love at first sight stories where 2 people know nothing about each other fall madly in love for no reason other than the fact that they're both attractive

    • @cmm5542
      @cmm5542 2 года назад

      I completely agree. For one thing, Buffy was the villain in their relationship, which made it even worse since it flipped their natural roles in the show back to front. Enemies-to-lovers aren't any more convincing than love at first sight - realistic relationships are friends gradually becoming something more. But it takes genius storytellers to make REALITY interesting. For mere entertainment, I do very much enjoy enemies to lovers, especially where the 'bad guy/girl' mends his/her ways for love. Far fetched? Maybe. Inspiring? Definitely. But instead of Spike getting better in this relationship, BUFFY got worse. What she did to him was abusive and inexcusable, and she never apologized. If she had admitted how wrong she was, well I'm all for forgiveness and second chances, but not without a sincere apology. Spike continuing to idolize Buffy didn't work for me; it was foolish and practically Stockholm Syndrome. Where Spike was concerned, Buffy was a bad person, not the hero she was supposed to be. And as far as Spike was concerned, his whole ability to be better than other vampires (of his own free will, unlike Angel) came from his ability to love. His unselfish love for DRUSILLA was what told me from the get-go he was going to have a redemption arc, so the way he turned against her actually made his character worse for me, not better. I had no problems with Spike moving on after Dru cheated on him; he had every right. But being willing to stake his longtime love for a girl he barely knew, a mortal enemy moreover that he had no reason to think would ever love him back? Telling Buffy he'd 'never been close' to ANYONE but her? Talk about disloyal. And Spike's character was NATURALLY loyal to those he loved, regardless of how badly they treated him. His totally forgetting Dru like that didn't work at all for his redemption arc.

    One rape survivor helping another cope with her feelings. Quite beautiful. The fact that Tara was always able to be there to help people through their feelings, because she already had experience with what they were going through, makes me wonder if there was anything she hadn't lived during her lifetime.

      Same here. I was only 19 or 20 when season 6 aired and I was definitely too young to really understand the depth of Buffy's emotional issues during this season. It definitely hits me harder as an adult with actual life experience. The whole series is actually better to watch as an adult; there are so many things and subtle nuances I either missed or did not fully comprehend as a teenager.
