as a italian i can conferm this, people in italy played this game in english because in italian is literally a meme, and not only in this scene, every dialogue seems dubbed by people who don't work as a voice actor and he doesnt even sound italian... he almost sounds like a turkish who has been living in italy for 2 years

I played the Russian dub back in 2004, i prefer it over english because it sounds like real life scenario in russia, which added to the immersion Russian dub Half Life 2 > English dub

It's interesting how some languages translate "City Seventeen" into their own local equivalent (Ciudad Diecisiete, Cité Dix-sept), some only translate the number part and leave the English "City," and some don't translate any part of the name. I wonder why. I can't imagine it would have been difficult for the German localization team, for example, to call it "Stadt Siebzehn."

The italian dub is notoriously terrible. The guy is not italian and is clearly reading it for the first time since he accidentally adds a period that isn't there and corrects himself. Don't look for the gman speech, it's even worse

Why are people saying French and Russian sound the best? They simply have deep voices, they don’t sound like the G-Man. In my opinion Korean was the best, it sounds like if the G-Man started yapping (because Korean has to fit much more words)
