Based off my research, it seems like a untouched paradise, even with the cons.

I'm from London but have lived in Italy since 2001, and have two kids 10 and 8 years who have only ever lived here. We're visiting Malta over New Year, and as I'm researching, I've become taken with the idea that we could relocate there. Do you know any people who could advise on what Malta is like from a family (and soon to have teenagers) perspective? Also do you know if there is much of an eco/permaculture community in Malta? It seems like it desperately needs regenerative agricultural approaches to deal with the lack of water.

Biggest problem in malta are immigrated ppl from allover the world, legal and not, even from these comments i can see most ppl dont even know what u was saying they are just here for flirting you, and thats the people we maltese have to deal with every day, malta is a f..... now unfortunately

For a vacation Malta is hard to beat, For retirement again tough to beat but working there I'm not so sure. Most jobs are tourist related and saleries are not that great. Outside the tourist traps it's tough to find a worthwhile job.

Do you feel sometimes bored because the country is small? And also does it rain a lot in winter?

Other cons: - the petards during festas. These things are unbearable. It's like the Blitz. I dunno how old people don't have heart attacks cos you can feel the windows shake! - the size of the island; it can make you feel isolated and claustrophobic - lack of greenery/parks Other pros: - food portions at restaurants: very generous! - history - people speak English + Italian

So it has piles of trash in the streets with temps over 30 degrees celsius for a good part of the year. Sounds nasty.

I was there for only 3 days, but I got a traumatic experience with the bus system. Almost all bus lines come every 20-30 minutes??? And even more time.

Thanks for the balanced video: there is always cons, it's important to see both the good and the bad. I went on hollidays in Malta in 2019 if I remember well and bought food in the most central supermarket of Valleta for 3 weeks, something like Carrefour in France and prices where more than Ok: I bought organic only so price is high but as such it remains pretty much the same everywhere. I think comparing uk strawberries and probably italian or sicillian or maltese strawberries is like comparing apples and oranges: the sun and the soil used to grow those strawberries plus the seed variety used will be different meaning the taste and nutrients content will be different too: I am picky and food quality in Malta is great, one of the top I experienced over around 10 destinations. Try artichoke pizza at Marsaxlokk for 6€ and you'll feel what I mean. Also Gozo is the food chest of Malta so you can get food from there and it's both local and delicious. With such a weather get yourself herloom seeds and grow your food. Also learn about wild plants you can eat and you'll see how cheap it is to eat excellent food in Malta: try the wild figs along the island's road. I walked for dozens hours around Malta and didn't experienced that much the dirtiness you talk about. I think due to the high amount of people in Malta, the best would be to live in Gozo

Strawberries are not grown locally and most of it is imported but have never been priced €8 as you say. Why don't you mention local fruits such as melon and watermelon, a whole box of melon/watermelon weighing around 20kilos might cost €10 What makes you think you know anything about Malta just because you got a job here better than in the UK? Why did you speak Dorado fish when it's in season during it cost around €3 to €5 per kilo. Why didn't you compare those prices with the UK? You show garbage bins overflow. Anywhere on the Maltese islands, the street is all clean and every day people leave their garbage bags whether black or white bags by their door steps which are collected daily ~ and we pay nothing not like in the UK you need to pay for such services. Please don't post videos like these if you are not accurate as it's not correct. I will be making a report about your video to Malta Tourism and will check it and make the necessary report.
