I saw an old commercial of Wasim akram promoting glucose D(Pakistan product, I don't know exactly it's name) and in an interview dated in 1993, hewas quoted saying that he regularly uses it after completing his training, plus at that time he was captain of Pakistan cricket team, had to deal with a lot stress. So it was all natural for him getting diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I remember he even used to endorse sugar free in late 2000s
