Thanks for the great info. I know I’m the minority here but do you have any info about creatine supplements and sleep disturbances? When I take I can only sleep max 5 hours. I’ve tested multiple times taking it and not changing anything else in my routine and consistently my overall sleep duration decreases from my normal 7 hours to 5 hours. And oddly I don’t feel anymore tired. I also tried different brands (legion, Thorne, buff chick) all did the same thing. For now I just avoid it but I saw great progress using it. Ive seen a few reddit threads with others facing similar issues.

When I trained for a 5k race, I accumulated up to 30k per week (a long run between 10 to 15k plus 3 times 5 to 6k). So from my experience it makes a lot of sense to start with a lower goal and you will automatically get into a position, where a 10k or a half marathon is also possible. And you can raise your goals later on. Regards.

Ran two marathons in my life. Both peak around 55mpw running 5 days a week. Last May I was attempting for my third but dropped out due to IT band injury. I was doing the Boston marathon level 4 training plan and I think that plan for me was too much too soon. I'm going to attempt marathon number 3 this coming spring. I am currently in my offseason running 5 days a week with 30 to 35 miles per week. See this video, and my desire running goals, I'm going to practice running 6 days a week but only do one speed workout a week and the rest of the week just easy runs. Maybe up to 40 miles per week. Really helpful video.

The take away I think is to not be in a rush to increase the weight or not to go up in weight then be too taxed then have to lower the weight to less than what you started with.

Using kiddy cereal for fueling is something I haven't considered. Interesting. Since kid's cereal is basically fiber free and essentially pure simple carbs, I suppose one advantage is you can eat very close to your run... don't have to wake up 90mins before your long run just to eat. I'm a creature of habit so my go-to has always been quick-oats/banana/PB/honey or bagel/banana/PB/jam. I might have to give Cocoa Pebbles or Marshmallow Fruity Pebbles a try on my next LR.
