Well done against two 1 star archers - scary stuff! I suggest you max upgrade your weapons (especially your mace *hint hint*) and armour before taking on Bonemass. That new mark on the map is a cauldron; worth checking out. Btw, if you click and hold E on a chest it will automagically Place Stacks.

Glad you eventually got the spice rack up. They're fussy little devils for placement. 😀 Collect a load of iron while you're in the area; you'll need more later.

Nice you are now up to 18 mins rested, it'll give you longer to explore (the Valheim day/night cycle is 30 mins - 21 mins day/9 mins night) so you are almost at a whole day of rested🙂 On the oposite side of the boat to where you were jumping, there is a ladder you can use to get back on the boat. There is inventory on the boat, in the centre a small wooden square you can click on to access. Good call on giving the plains a miss, at your level it's just a quick death, the plains is the 5th biome, you are at the moment on the 3rd biome - swamp. And then you decided to land in the plains!! I can't wait for the next episode 😉 Sorry to hear you are unwell, hope you feel better soon.

Mountain is the next biome. The Plains will eat you for breakfast. 😲 I was waiting for that Deathsquito to teach you the hard way, but luckily it didn't spot you! 😀

I always carry ingredients for the Portal when out exploring. I make a Portal at home Base using no name at all (blank) and you can quick plonk one down out there if needed and return home in a fast way, or a safe area just in case you die in a new biome such as your swamp

Two star! Ouchies. That always sucks. Seriously, pop up that pocket portal when you land, then you can go home to sleep and get back easily if (when) the worst happens. Grats on stumbling across the Bonemass spawner.

If you die on the ocean then a floating marker will have your items in it, you would need to sail back out to retrieve them. There is a sea creature that has a higher spawn rate in the rain, but you are more than geared/capable to kill it and it's a great food source.... so much so they are worth farming ;) You need to put down a workbench and then you can repair your boat with the hammer - if you want to destroy your boat just smash it up with an axe. Make sure you are close enough to shore with the boat if you do that (I run mine onto the land) so you don't lose the nails in deep water where you can't retrieve them. You can easily increase your rested bonus with furniture items near your bed..... table, chair, armor stand, rug, banner, maybe make an item stand and hang a trophy, all of these things will increase the duration of your rested bonus so you have longer to explore, you have plenty of room upstairs in your new home, just move the bed up there (it doesn't need to be next to the fire) it can be above the fire upstairs to give you the warmth. Gz on finding the boss spawn, it's very watery around his spawn point, quick tip would be to go back with your hoe and flatten the ground around it to give you a flatter/dryer terrain to work with when you are ready to fight him. At the bottom of your screen on the right hand side the abilities are listed for draw/block/dodge. 2* drauger archers hit hard, sad you had a death, I know you will be disappointed as you now need to make another boat to get back there to retrieve your stuff :( When you go back, put up a portal as soon as you land (on the Black Forest side), if you die again at any point, you will at least have an easy way back. Everybody dies at some point in Valheim, the biomes get harder as you progress and a few deaths are to be expected, even for seasoned players, I hope it won't put you off the game.

Grats on finding the turnip seeds in your first swamp; they can be elusive! Kill all the leeches and draugr for the blood sacs and entrails. You'll be wanting those for the next tier food.

It's impossible to stay dry in the swamps, as it's always rainy and wet there, this makes it difficult to put down a fire as the rain just puts the fire out. As you go into a crypt, you can pop a fire down once inside on the step and sit by it to get your rested bonus back. Seems it's time to sail and hunt for more Swamps, I look forward to the next episode :)

The dandelions are from spillage in making your brews ;)

Sadly you can't grow berries/mushrooms unless you use a mod. The dandelions do respawn, but you shouldn't need to take up the floor to pick them. If they truly annoy you, then take the floor up, use your pickaxe to dig down a bit the spot where they are growing, then replace the floor.

If you hold Shift while cooking, you can cook 5 at once. Unfortunately, the dandelions will keep reappearing, which is irritating. You might consider marking a few red mushrooms on the map; you'll need them for some higher dishes too. Oh, and nice shooting! 🙂

I just hate the building part of this game,all of my buildings are one floor squares with the fires outside so boring

30:00 The upgrades for devices (Anvil/Forge etc.) need to be in a certain range by the gold sparkly line. I think most need to be within like 2-4 metres

You can now make a hearth, a larger fire that accommodates the Iron cooking rack as well as your cooking pot. You also have a natural stone ledge/shelf around your crafting stations where the wood walls are, maybe place some upgrades on that ledge? None of the upgrades need to be outside, but they do need some space between each other, that's why they were showing red when you tried to place them. You can collect your honey, then destroy the hives, you get the materials back and can remake the beehives wherever you want to.

The build is looking good, you shouldn't stress over it, you just needed more space and this will give you the space you need for now ;) Building tip, maximise the space you use, for instance when you put your fermenters in the new house, put them on a shelf like structure, so put a half wood wall on each side, so it looks like this | | put a floor on top and you can put the fermenters on top of the shelf and underneath have room for 2 storage boxes, 1 for meads, the other for femented items like health/stamina/resistance potions. Same with some of the items you need to upgrade the work benches, you can stick them on shelves above the benches, or even remove a floor piece, dig down and bury them, then replace the floor over them. They don't have to be on show, they just need to be near the bench for the upgrade to work. By the way the new update gave you some new benches you need to look at for cooking. Also when you move everything over from your old home, don't forget to destroy your old home to get all the wood back from it. Final tip, when you add a hearth/fire, don't forget you need to vent the smoke :)

New recipes are from the update for the Bog Witch. Slight changes to making stuff and some recipes ;)

At the front of the house you placed the stone walls on the outside of the wooden floor, at the sides and rear of the house you placed the stone walls on the wood floor, so it won't line up perfectly as it wasn't squared off. You could have just used the smaller wood floor to fill in any gaps, the smaller roof pieces take less wood too ;) Buildings take water damage from the rain, they don't break, just go down to 50% health, so don't bother repairing the floors until the roof goes on, once sheltered you can repair them and they won't take any further damage.

Boar can be tamed, 21:00 if this is what you mean? Spoiler: Make a yard with an open gate, find your boar you want to tame, agro it, and bring it back to this area and place your last fence to enclose them. Make sure it's no too far, but close enough to your buildings and you can go back and feed them until tame. If close enough, they also should tame over time too.

The hoe will flatten the area based on where you are stood, it will try to flatten to the level of ground the player is standing on, if you press the 'shift' key when using the hoe, it will then try to flatten to the area you are aiming at. You struggled a little with the walls as wooden floors don't have enough structural support for stone walls, building up the ground around them works, or you could even do the walls so they are next to the floor (rather than on it). Great episode, can't wait to see the finished build :)

Great progress! The trick with the hoe is that it brings the ground up/down to the level on which you are standing (within reason), so flatten a piece, then stand on it and work outwards. The stone walls self-demolished because they weren't touching the ground. If you mouse over build pieces with your hammer, you'll see they are different colours. Blue is foundation (touching the ground) and the further up they go, they turn through green, yellow and red. Red won't support any further pieces. For your double door, you might want to use the taller wooden gate instead, as there will be no frame in the middle.

Swamp is one of my favourite biomes honestly.

You left a few pieces of muddy scrap in the crypt, which might yield a few more chunks of iron, if you can be bothered. 🙂 Looking forward to your new (stone?) base.

The Iron mace was a good call, the next boss you will face is weak to blunt damage, but resistant to stab/slash/pierce, so a good mace and shield will be helpful. Root armor is good later game (or at least one piece of it) as it gives pierce resistance very useful for the 5th biome, so more abomination kills needed ;) Great episode, you are doing well. Look forward to seeing your next build, tutorials are great, there are some awesome builders in Valheim and it's good to get tips and tricks/ideas.

You could make a portal on top of the crypt - make a work bench outside the crypt at the lower end to the rear and use it to jump on top of the crypt and put a portal up, it's safe from most mobs up there. When you come out of the crypt you can portal home with your goodies, except the iron as metals can't be portalled unless you change the settings to allow metals through portals. Once you have cleared a crypt, just destroy the portal and you have the mats back ready to make another at the next crypt you find. Abominations are susceptible to fire, but they have a lot of health and it takes forever to take them down with fire arrows (but it is doable). Best weapon is an axe, scary as it sounds it's best to get right under them if you can to avoid their hits (they hit hard) and chop away. As with anything it takes a bit of practice as obviously they don't stand still while you do this!! You did well with the Wraith, but it should have dropped a chain, another item you will need. I think there is one other denizen of the Swamps you are yet to find :D It's time to think of a bigger base, you need more space and you can now build with stone, makes it much more secure. Iron beams also make a structure more secure so you can even build higher. You are gonna need a lot of iron so figure in the time you will need to get as much as possible, you bypassed a lot of the bronze grind, but iron is used for everything (even items late game). By the way the Stonecutter is like the workbench, it has a radius which allows you to build with stone, you need to move it around to extend your build radius.

19:42 Found one :D Think of Abominations as the Troll of the Swamp biome, with each biome having it's variant of a troll just bigger.

If you want to face the Abomination, I suggest an axe, and good luck. 🙂 The stonecutter table is needed, in range, to build with stone. Make some iron nails to discover new stuff. De-restricting the portals makes life a lot easier; I did my time transporting ore in ships! Keep looking for Crypts, and mine every little piece; you'll need a shed - load of iron. Great job so far!

Ancient bark is used to craft a weapon, but you will need mats from the 4th biome before you can make it (you will also need some of that guck you found). To access the guck put up a workbench and use the 2 x 2 wood floor, stick it on the tree and kind of parkour your way up/round. The Bark is also used in other recipes (upgrades and building). Entrails are used for better food, as are Blood Bags from the leeches, the Blood bags are also used in healing/frost resistance meads. The Swamp is a big step up in difficulty from the first 2 biomes and you have not yet encountered all the enemies found in the Swamp!!! Wraith's are difficult though, they are resistant to most damage except fire and spirit damage (sadly you won't have any weapons yet with spirit damage) so best to kite and shoot with fire arrows (it's not easy though as they are resistant to pierce damage and it's the fire that will damage them). The wraiths do drop an item that is useful so like the Trolls, you may need to practice killing them. You are not looking for houses (you often find wraiths in abandoned houses in the Swamp) but small squat stone crypts with iron gates, the Swamp key will unlock these and let you get to more resources. As @jogbadthebad said, keep a look out for flowers too, another upgrade in food (similar to carrots). Valheim is all about the preparation, the Troll armor is good enough for the biome but it would be much better if upgraded (same with your weapons and shield), either way it means more bronze needed and if you would feel better in Bronze armor then go for it. Great episode :)

You did just fine for a first visit. If you thought that was bad, you should have seen my first visit to the Ashlands! 😀 Ancient Bark is good for weapons, armour and other stuff, but you're missing the metal... Keep your eyes peeled for some white flowers also!

Yes, Nice Elder fight. Take your Swamp Key and poison resist with you next time exploring the Swamp for sure. And make more use of portals. They are literally life savers sometimes, plus you'll want one next to the Sacrificial Stones to make it easy to switch powers when needed. Good luck and have fun. 🙂

Gz on Elder kill, it was nice and smooth. You often get a multitude of greydwarves come in or even Trolls lol, but it was a nice clean fight and you took him down with ease. Instead of a maze in your home, some of the upgrades for the benches can either be put in the ground (so remove a floor piece dig down with the pick and place one of the upgrades) then replace the floor, as long as the upgrades are close to the bench they will work. Alternatively you can place the small wood floors on the wall above the bench (same as you did for stacking storage boxes) and place some of the smaller upgrade pieces on the shelves these small floor pieces create. Each boss will drop a trophy and then an item you need for progression in the next biome, so Eikthyr dropped the Hard Antlers so you could make a pickaxe, needed for the mining in the Black Forest. The Elder has dropped a key that you will need to progress in the Swamp biome. When you go in the Swamp next time, take some poison resist potions with you, take one just before entering the Swamp and refresh when needed. The potion doesn't work retrospectively, so it won't cure you when you are already poisoned, you take it before entering the swamp so that if/when you get poisoned, it significantly reduces the damage you take. Great episode :)

Nice Elder fight , the time you invested in preparing for it was not wasted , made it look almost easy 👍 . I bet it would have been a different story if you had paid him a visit earlier , when you first found his Altar 🙂
