Their realationship really broke my heart, Gray clearly showed feelings for her but she wasnt willing to cross the line he did. I think Carmen might've felt the same but to me it seems more like she loved him as a brother, she even says that herself. If she did feel the same though i think its less obvious because she knows that she dould never bring herself to be with him because of the lines he's crossed and also because she couldn't go back to vile. When vile mindwiped him i think maybe that gave her some false hope that she could actually be with him. I think deep down she knew that there waw no way she could ever even be friends with him again though because everything was too compliacted but she wasnt really ready to accept that which is why she wasnt really anxious during the fake opera thing, because it gave her the opportunity to fall back into that false hope. Especially with the scenes that he could have remembered or vile could have taken control of him. The scene where he said "vile had just reprogrammed me to be some innocent fool" that really hit hard for me and probably for Carmen too. She wanted to believe that he could be different, that he could stop making the wrong choices. Gray was a good guy who cared for Carmen but he chose the wrong path and now he's stuck with it. I really like this series because of some of the messages like how good people can make bad decisions, and you need to be sure of the road you choose to take because you can't turn back around after youve already gone down it and how you can't keep hoping that someone will change. Some people are upset that carmen and gray didn't end up together but looking at the messages the show portrays im happy they didnt end up together because it wouldve ruined the message. Carem and Gray are a forbidden love thats actually forbidden, at the end it shows that Gray knows that, he tells them that he doesnt want to get in contact with her again because he doesnt wat to complicate her life which is really sweet and smart. He knows how it is.
