I can’t read music. I did have piano lessons as a child but I had a bad case of ADHD and didn’t have the attention or discipline to become a professional musician. But I know what chords and notes I’m playing. I learned to this sort of stuff by ear. I am flattered by your question. Tell me about yourself if you please.

I'm working out my own version of this song on violin. There actually isn't much to the melody, which is mostly bits of scales and broken chords, so I feel like the real meat of the song is the lush harmonic possibilities and the beautiful lyrics that lend themselves to interpretive flourishes that Plant has sung a variety of ways over the years. This is a beautiful rendition and refreshing to hear a cover that isn't taking everything so literally.

@@ffsrsw I so much would love to work with a violin player. In high school, I compose the string Quartet that our school performed around the Boston area at different schools, and it even won an award. @@brucemcdonald2503 I was able to work something up inspired largely by the mandolin parts from the album version and from a couple of live versions. I'm really proud of my work, but people haven't been recognizing the song. So, I'm not sure what to do about that! Nice to return to your version again, though.

You’re referring to the sustain pedal I assume. Something to be aware of!

@@brucemcdonald2503 Not the sustain pedal. The room acoustic. Ideal for singers, string quartets etc, but bad for piano. Particularly concert grands. Basically, the wrong environment for solo piano recital. It would be ok if accompanied by an orchestra. Too much echo.

@@markrymanowski719 great observation. The main problem is that the piano sits on a hard wood floor right next to the HVAC vent so my Damp Chaser is useless. My wife and I are relocating to a place where I can reconstitute my old recording studio.

@@brucemcdonald2503 Thanks for the link. No reverb. Maybe the microphone/s can be muffled somewhat to reduce the effect of too much echo in places that are acoustically excellent for human voices. Can't help there. Not my area of expertise.

That’s exactly why I’m playing it on the piano. It is my humble and admittedly, an inadequate effort to play two guitar parts simultaneously on the piano. Give me a little credit.
