If I may I'll correct a slight mistake. The Parc de la Vanoise is near the border with Italy. Switzerland is further north, towards Chamonix (where France, Switzerland and Italy meet).

Beautiful place ! We are traveling between Mexico and Argentina for the next 4-5 years, in search of our favorite cool weather retirement city. In Colombia the city we think we may like is Manizales, but then there are lots of small towns like this that are super cool. Looks safe ? Plenty to do to keep busy ? Thx !

That's totally magnificent 🌿

This hike shows how France is conflicted and cannot push back the ski resorts. It's one of the most beautiful hikes in Vanoise, but it follows an insanely ugly chairlift at the beginning. A common sight in Switzerland or Italy, but usually France avoids this, like in Ecrins, Mercantour, Vercors etc... In Vanoise, there's too many ski resorts right next to the park. In fact, the park had to be built around the ski resorts, the government couldn't afford to tell the resorts that they were gonna take back land from them. This hike is insanely beautiful in october/november, with the first snows. When the trail is free of snow until about Lac des Vaches, and then full of snow from there, it's heaven. The hike also show how cow grazing prevents trees from growing. Sure it makes for nice flower meadows, but that area feels a bit barren. If it were an American national park for example, you would have trees right up until Col de La Vanoise. PS : flying a drone is strictly illegal here.

I've been all over the Island and it is truly a beautiful paradise but Cabo Rojo is deliriously, absolutely, incredibly gorgeous. I was taken aback with the vistas I saw, the incredible beaches the wonderful trees, plants foliage etc it just needs to be witnessed in person no description I give can convey just how beautiful the Cabo Rojo area of Puerto Rico is. I wish to own a sprawling house with a wrap around raised porch one side facing the Caribbean and the other facing the wondrous land with its hills and lush mountains. That is the dream. A nice piece of land large enough to raise chickens and goats and a few horses that can run freely within the property, cows of few doggies of course. I love this Island with every fiber of my being. My Mom was born Peñuelas so were here parents my grandparents and my Grandfather's parents my great grandparents. Peñuelas holds a very cherished place in my heart and soul. My families land was in the Sector de Coto. I would love to get my hands on the land that was once my families homestead. So many generations of my lineage were raised right there. I remember visiting my great grandparents back when I was a kid. My great grandparents still had an old style wooden home with a tin roof but then they had a new home built right next to that one. I can't say enough how much Puerto Rico means to me.
