I always thought evanescence needed to layoff the generic 80s monster ballad guitar riffs & the dude screaming. Amy would have been better as a solo act, her songs are 95% wonderful with a 5% gotta make sure we can sell this to the generic "girl rocking out" crowd. They just seem forced sometimes. Female vocalists have pulled off natural sounding rock songs, Heart - Crazy on you & Magic Man, Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit & Somebody to Love, most of Garbage the heavy parts flow very naturally & have unique tones. evanescence is a beautiful voice, full of emotion, full of energy and unique tones vocal tones then BAM cookie cutter riffs and screaming... not sure what her relation is to the rest of the band but they dont really do her justice
