paddletek bantam tko-cx 12.7 mm ftw
@@y2washere i recently got to hit with the TKO-C 14.3 and it was really impressive! I think the TKO-CX 12.7 would be perfect for me based on that experience and the reviews on it. Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on them for a review soon!
@@scooterreviewsstuff Yeah it's my main paddle right now. Great paddle but it's not forgiving if you make a mistake with the drop/reset. While I could probably play more competitive with something like the Shogun or Apollo. I just feel like the TKO-C is more fun and I don't mind developing the control to go along w it.
@@y2washere sometimes the more fun paddle is worth it! Even if it means you play worse…

More powerful than the neonic force?
@@samuelborthwick4867 I think I'd give the edge to the Force ever so slightly, but they're also radically different feeling paddles The Force is elongated with a much stiffer feel, whereas the Flare is that wide body shape with a softer, springier feel. So I think ultimately different people might feel more comfortable generating power with one or the other based on their preferences.
Sweet intro and great review! Love the looks of the Flare along with the longer handle vs BnB Fatboy. Has Neonic said anything about the "Titanium" weave? I keep reading about how it is actually polyester and not titanium.
@@khpickleball Thanks! I appreciate it. And I haven't personally seen Neonic or any brand address the polyester / titanium issue other than B&B making a joke in the comments of the PB Persuit podcast video. However, I personally just view it as a marketing term at this point and I don't think any brand is using it maliciously. Unfortunately, it became a feature before it was discovered that it wasn't exactly what the brands thought it was, but it does seem to make a difference in the feel of the paddle, so whatever you call it, I like it!
Do you prefer this Neonic or the Fatboy?
@@swiftraider759 Tough question! I think for my personal taste i like the Neonic just a little bit more. I like the longer handle and titanium which gives it the edge for me. But my dad still prefers the Fat Boy because it’s a bit stiffer and has a bigger sweet spot.
@@scooterreviewsstuff Thank you for the reply. I do like that the Fatboy has some pop compared to the Mach 2 Forza. Less than the Apollo but the Fatboy has more power. I added 3grams at 3 and 9 o'clock and recently used in a 4.0 tournament. Still maneuverable in the kitchen. Those characteristics you mentioned are important to me as far as the sweet spot a being rigid.
@@swiftraider759 No problem! Really can’t wrong either way since they’re both great!
Great review Scooter. I appreciate it wasn’t a copy cat review of what others have said. I like your view on it.
@@MattyRut2922Thanks Mat! I always try to go into a review as unbiased as possible. Definitely interesting watching the other reviews coming out today and hearing everyone else’s opinions about it!
Definitely looking at getting this paddle. Great review.
@@aaronsegal1682 It’s definitely a good one to consider!
Nice review. Concise and to the point. Thanks.
@@kwong8414 Thank you!
Thanks Man! I needed this badly
@@andrewpham8665 No problem! Glad i could help out.
Stepping up your production Scooter? Video looks great. I've never hit with a MARK but I have been fan of them since the KINETIC days.
@@MattyRut2922 Thanks Mat! I'm definitely trying to step it up. I've been doing photography for a long time, but video editing is a whole other beast. I've also been following them since the Kinetic days. Happy to finally check them out and they didn't disappoint!
Those extreme ridges around the side would throw off a lot of shots
@@StewNWT Are you referring to the edge guard? Might just be the contrast in color that makes it look more extreme, But no different than any other paddle with an edge guard.
Beast of a paddle. I can personally confirm this paddle is a GREAT buy. Amazing control, power is there, and just super consistent all around. I’d buy it again
@@shalooom Neonic is one of the best! Super excited to see what else they bring out in the future!
Curious - Where did you place the lead tape / how much?
@@vprars06 I like my paddles a bit on the heavy side, So I did about 4g on each side, Starting just below the corners.
Thanks for the review!
@@julialoehlein9778 Thanks for watching!
Its always so funny to me how handle lengths are measured in pickleball. The double black diamond and neonic flow have the same listed handle length as one another. I have big hands and have been playing with the neonic flow and the monarch side by side and the monarch has a listed length of 5.75 and is just a bit shorter than I want it. That being said the new neonic flare prime which is slated for a full release soon will be a widebody/standard face paddle with neonics full length handle and taper so that will be sick
@@wolf-xf6hf Yeah…I’ve never understood why it’s so difficult to just advertise the actual handle length. Obviously the ability to overwrap is a little different, but brands advertising handles longer than they actually are isn’t cool. Both of the new Flare paddles look great! I’m super excited to get my hands on them ASAP!
Good explanation on the dynamics of Kevlar face.
@@gao57009 Thanks! It’s not the easiest thing to describe, So i appreciate the comment!
I feel like most of the reviewers are asleep on Neonic Flow, so your not late at all. Good looking and sounds like a great performing product.
It got a bit of traction when it first came out, but seemed to fall off a bit. But i actually just saw it in someone’s top 5 list and it deserves it! Very good paddle for a very good price!
BUYERS BEWARE, PLAYED WITH THIS PADDLE FOR LESS THAN A WEEK-----------------DELAMINATION!!!! I contacted Coretek and they refused to warranty the paddle, and offered 20% off a new paddle, what a SCAM. I did not ask for a refund, just asked for them to stand by their product. The paddle is in new condition, sent them pictures, and no response. Coretek, you lost me as a customer for life. -------------------------------------------------------DELAMINATION-----------------------------------------------------------
How is the spin?
@@gene3344 The spin on Neonic paddles is really solid! I was actually playing with the Flow from Neonic tonight and kept getting compliments about n how much spin i was generating with it.
Thanks for the games! We were just talking about shoes as the reason we stink!
@@rjsmith3684 You guys are doing great! But some good court shoes are certainly nice to have. Good playing with you guys!
Scooter did you see a difference in spin between these to paddles? @scooterreviewssruff. Also their website was down for a while but looks back up again.
Thanks Scooter! Great review.
Good review. i'm going to love winning your next giveaway!
Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to do another one soon!
How would you compare this to the six zero double black diamond? Great review.
@@danny-al They are definitely different feeling. The DBD has a much stiffer feeling face, which is similar to the B&B Filth but with a more all-court play style. The Shogun is going to be much springier off the face and offer more power, but with a bit less control and a higher swing weight. So there is definitely a lot of personal preference.
The handle is absolute trash. Mine came with the moulded plinth section glued on crooked and felt like it was a gun handle. They had said they would replace the paddle as i had to rebuild the handle with balsa wood. It never happened. The face surface deteriorates very quickly as well. It now sits on the shelf as a lesson in what not to do with customer service. It is a great concept. With an improved shape, better face surface and a new handle it could be really good. Give them time. I think they can do better
That's a bummer to hear. My handle wasn't great, but it definitely wasn't that bad, but I'm really bummed to hear about your issues with customer service. I really like the concept, and I'd love to see what they could do with their tech. Hopefully they can get things figured out and improve their products and customer service experience.
which one would you go with the volair mach forza 2 or the shogun?
That's a tough one to answer because there are very different paddles that cater to very different types of players. The Mach 2 Forza is a very soft control paddle that is very forgiving but lacks power/pop. The Shogun is a springy power paddle with a lot of pop, but isn't as forgiving on the control side. For me personally, I'd choose the Shogun because it fits my play style a bit better. The Fat Boy which I just reviewed is almost the perfect middle ground between those two paddles, so that could be a solid 3rd option for you.
Love my FatBoy. Amazing to play with. Also love my Shogun. Bread & Butter killing it.
Bread & Butter is the best!
Which do you prefer? This or the shogun? I'm coming from a SK Luxx so I love the control of it.
They are pretty different playing experiences, so it really depends on what I’m feeling and what kind of game I’m looking to play. I think the Shogun is a more offensive paddle with more power, whereas the Fat Boy is more well-rounded and consistent with much easier control. Coming from the Luxx, the Fat Boy would be a easier adjustment out of the two.
@@scooterreviewsstuff Perfect. Thanks for the info!
No problem!
Haha no way! I’m coming from a Luxx as well! Don’t know which one to switch too so I’m getting both the Shogun and the Fat Boy. Main reasons for me switching is the Luxx ‘s grit wears out way to quick imo
@@ChocolateCrip This is also happening with my Luxx as well with the grit. I played with the Shogun yesterday and it takes a little getting used to especially with the control coming from a Luxx. It definitely more "poppy" than the Luxx and you can feel the impact more. I think because the Luxx is so pillow that we get spoiled with other paddles. I do like the power you get with the Shogun but I think I'd rather have the soft pillow you get from the Luxx instead.
I hope I made the deadline!
Terrible naming. Too close to each other
I agree! Hopefully they’ll fix their naming system soon.

I am looking to upgrade my paddle. I like the idea of supporting new paddle companies. This one looks promising for my play style.
The tek part of the name reminds me of paddletek. Would like to try this out.
I love that you're highlighting smaller up and coming paddle brands. Many of the top brands now in terms of paddle quality were unheard of a year or 2 ago.
Thanks for the review! Hoping to possibly win this!
Would love to test out the core technology
I'd love to try this out because I like bringing newer brands to the courts
Interesting paddle. Would love to give it a try.
Springiness is a good thing for paddles. General speaking, between carbon fiber, Kevlar and platinum, which one is the easiest to control?
There are a lot of variables to consider when answering that question and I think a lot of them are subjective, but I'll give my very surface level opinion. I think carbon fiber is the easiest overall because it's very linear. It has a very consistent feel throughout all shots. Kevlar is much more dynamic and it can feel very soft when drinking but much more stiff feeling when driving the ball. Titanium is also dynamic but less so than Kevlar. However, it is significantly springier than carbon or Kevlar. But with that being said, I find the shogun and its titanium easier to control than the filth with its carbon, which is where the personal preference comes in.
All about supporting upcoming companies. Thank you for my chance to win a revolutionary paddle
The Nomex core, 18K Carbon Fiber Omega sounds very intriguing. My first paddle was the Z5, which is also Nomex, and I've always liked it as a beginner paddle. I'm hoping they'll let the winner choose between the Alpha and Omega! Thanks for the review.
I have never heard of a paddle woth foam in it, sounds interesting lol.
As someone that comes from tennis, a longer handle that translates to easier to handed hits sounds amazing. I might just have to pick me up one of these paddles lol
I need the power!!!
The new core technology they use is intriguing. I'm going to enjoy trying it out as soon as I can. Thanks for bringing this new company to our attention. Always good finding out about new pb companies.
