If the generator is shutting off , something is wrong with it. Usually the fuel pump, when it gets hot starts to cut out. Mine runs for hours with no issues. 2023 59 PX

I can’t imagine the cassette toilet is anything but a potential nightmare. I have also noticed many rest stops do not allow them to be dumped. I’m sure they have had spills.

I can't speak for the promaster, but every car I have had needs to get air in its tires in the fall when I travel from Denver to Chicago and back. I think a combination of the colder weather and the elevation change are responsible. Hopefully that is the case for you.

It is really a 7 speed tranny since 8th and 9th are locked out on on the PM. This is controlled by software and you can't adjust it.

My 2022 Promaster has the 9 speed transmission. I agree it's a great improvement over the 6 speed. My van regularly gets 20 mph combined city/hwy driving.

Hey fellow PNW guy. We are 4 months into Winnebago Roam and very happy too. We purchased in NJ and road tripped across the USA to the Olympic Peninsula where we live in July 2023. I’m new to RVs and bigger rigs but after a few days driving back east I was feeling confident and super pleased w Ram Promaster 3500 performance. Dashboard controls not entirely intuitive but not difficult either. I too like cassette toilet. I slept in pop-top several times and did well. Has light, USB and 110 outlet (I think). The plumbing system controls are idiot proof. I used compressed air to winterize and it’s pretty darn easy. The drain valves on bottom are readily accessible. Roam has no LP or generator and I’ve used the built in Timberline gasoline fired heater and so far it works well and easy to use. My only quibble to date is that the different controls for inverter, heater, and tank/battery levels take time to figure out. Really appreciate various lighting options, multiple USBs, and adequate 110 outlets. I do wish there were some controls for the living space integrated up front. I mean at least one cabin light ! For those who wonder about about wheelchair lift, so far it’s been 99% reliable. My quibble here is way too many interlocks that prevent lift operation but that’s a discussion for another time.

Do you turn the Truma switch under the seat back on for heat in the winter?

Hi, very good video. I’m still not completely clear on how to leave the low point drains under the seats. Am I understanding the steps correctly here… 1st open all valves under the seat to make sure all water is emptied. 2nd proceed with the antifreeze process. 3rd close the valves under the seat. Do not leave them open? Is this correct?

Looks good

Some people drive with the drains open to make sure they are truly empty. Also I use a n air compressor to blow out the lines. Also some people feel that's enough to do and no antifreeze is necessary except to pour some into the Grey tank And cassette toilet.

Nice video! I actually think that is a very good floor plan. I would like to change my current camper Van for this model, this one looks very practical and perfect for a solo traveler. And the volta system! Just a very complete unit.

Thanks for the thorough winterizing video. My wife and I are considering switching from a 4 season travel trailer to the rig you have now. Do you do anything to protect the coach batteries? Some sites recommend removing them to a climate controlled setting and trickle charging. Not sure what is recommended by Winnebago. Thanks in advance for your recommendation.

Also in your closing summary, you say to avoid running the Truma hot water heater while winterized bc that will boil the antifreeze. I'd thought that the winterization setting on the Nautilus bypassed the Truma water heater and did not fill it with antifreeze. Comment? Thanks!

In your closing summary checklist, you forgot to mention that you also run antifreeze into the toilet flush line.

I couldn’t see what you turned under the seat and what you mean by, “turn that off”… do you mean close? If so, which way is open and which is closed/off? Lichtsinn seems to not turn off the truma switch under the seats while Colonial RV does. Otherwise, your video is excellent… would love to see a quick follow-up video on my questions 😊! Your video is the best I’ve come across so far! 👏 👏 👏 Now I can winterize my PX!

Thanks for a great video. Your info about the generator makes sense and is new to me. I too have the same unit as yours. I’ve put down a carpet runner from Costco in the back to try to minimize the dust on the vinyl floor. Happy camping!

New to RVs. We have the Roam w pop top x 3 months now. So far we love it. I’m looking for alternative to winterizing. Flushing w antifreeze solution is not desirable especially since I plan to use my van through the winter in PNW. Several people have told me they just drain all the water out, including low points. Any experience or thoughts?
